Easily the most powerful time-based digital effects pedal on the market, the Strymon Timeline has everything but the kitchen sink. The timelines features a rotary control that toggles between 12 separate delay types including, digital, dual, pattern, reverse, ice, duck, swell, trem, filter, lo-fi, d-tape, and dbucket. Between the controls you can tweak in the LED panel and the existing front panel controls, there are a plethora of sounds you can get out of this unit. The timeline comes with 200 presets alone. The looping function is a great addition and is very easy to access and manipulate. Aesthetically, I love the Timeline's departure from the rest of Strymon's catalogue. Very modern and clean.

UTILIZATION

The sheer amount of front panel control offered on the Timeline makes editing very simple. The foot switches have dual functions for controlling the loop, making it extremely gig friendly. The presets are more than useable and the number of them, while perhaps intimidating to some consumers, allow for many quick fixes and momentary inspirations. The rugged construction of the timeline makes it suitable for studio and touring purposes.

SOUND QUALITY

I have used the Timeline with a myriad variety of guitars and amps. I've never had anything but pleasing results using this pedal. The Sharc DSP onboard the Timeline is the same breed used in the Axe Fx standard, ensuring brilliant sound quality all around. Not all of the presets are going to please you, but many of them will.

OVERALL OPINION

The Strymon Timeline is brilliant. It is the only digital delay I've used that I couldn't imagine parting with. The sound quality is phenomenal, and the ease of use coupled with the potential for so many separate sounds make this an excellent value and a step above similar offerings. The closest competitor to the Strymon is the Eventide TimeFactor, both of which I've tested. I thoroughly enjoyed the Eventide, but it lacked the evasive mojo that the Timeline boasts so naturally. Pricing can seem lofty, but for the feature set presented, it's more than fair.

Delays customizable, and looper. No PC or Mac editor. Audio and Midi.

SOUND QUALITY

With a guitar - the instrument par excellence for this type of pedal, but that others could adopt without problem - it's all there is more effective!

OVERALL OPINION

I have not had much time, just an evening or two to do it yourself, but this is sufficient to say that it is the pearl, the Rolls-Royce, the ultimate, the top model of the delays. A little pricey, sure, but just about 50% more than the Digitech Time Bender, good pedal but without comparison. Delay in the family, it is the queen of hearts, and we pay for.
This machine is a magic box that allows - in addition to its avowed, more than perfect - to create sound effects unpublished. There is also the trail AND the infinite repeat, functions that one would find constantly in competition (which does nothing to compete for that matter). It can be controlled by Midi, to add an expression pedal, and there is also an effects loop! UTILIZATION

C'st forcment more complicated than Carbon Copy, but the manual is trs clear, well rglage penss, and 200 factory presets are mostly excellent and are a good trs basis for the edit VTRE.

SOUND QUALITY

Like all other pedals of the mark (I possde Rverb the BlueSky, the Ola Chorus, Flanger the Orbit, the time limit El Capistan), the sound quality is irrprochable. Retailer impossible by all the possibilities of the machine (Demos and trs compltes ralistes on the site of the brand, as well as on Youtube).
Personally, I use the effects loop of my amp. I have not heard better. Everything is possible, dlais Fawn Vintage (dBucket or DTaP), the right dlais more (digital), with filters, Shimmer, Pattern (a kind of Ping Pong Delay and more volumes), Reverse, Duck Delay, not to mention a super looper 30 seconds.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 3 weeks.
If you love express, run to buy it, it is worth more than its price. Above the Time Factor Enventide my opinion. With pdalier Midi is like a multi-effect pedals format, the sound quality and more. These guys are the miracles. If I were stolen, I Rasht as dry.

Can not answer the question of types of effects, more than 12 different types of delays, decline to infinity through a number of settings to refine each effect, 100 factory presets and the ability to record 200 in total, stereo output, MIDI connections, this is not a pedal, it's a rack all by itself!

UTILIZATION

Well, I must say that this pedal might be a fantastic and unique, ergonomics is still not perfect though fairly simple for the complexity of the pedal.
Be sure to read the manual (in English for now) and watch some demos and we cope quickly enough, but it's not the kind of foot "plug & play", although again, given the complexity of the pedal, it is fairly simple to handle.

SOUND QUALITY

Strymon quality and much more, the sound is beautiful, warm, enveloping, fantastic. With a good guitar and good amp that reproduces well the clean sounds, it's intoxicating, almost orgasmic.
The effects are incredibly efficient, you can "play" for hours with this machine as the possibilities are endless! And it becomes really in the game, an incredible pleasure.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a week is not much, but I used so much in a week I'm starting to get a good overview of the potential of the beast.
A delay is extraordinary, revolutionary as it does not exist at present.
If you need a delay pedal that makes a maximum, then this is for you. If however you prefer to concentrate on a particular type of delay like tape delay, turn to the "El Capistan" of the same brand that is certainly the tape echo pedal the most successful in the market.
