OVERALL OPINION

I tried a lot of OD: several Maxon OD808 which, Mi Audio Blues Pro, TS9, Wampler, Xotic, ... I also tried to time the four versions of OCD, are the versions 1 and 2 have me + rained from what I expected from the sound of an OD.
That is a sound closer to an amp pushed without the hump in the midrange that will bring us a TS9 or OD 808 (this is really not the type of sound I'm looking for), with its "direct" (you take directly in the face, D), not compressed as could be for example a BB Preamp.
It seems that versions 2 and 3 would be the best. For the three, certainly not for me (too dark), for two I still leave him a chance

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 years now, it magnifies my sound on any amp that I use is the overdrive to take with you when you make a jam from the amp to a friend or disposal.

Fulltone Obsesive Compulsive Drive. (OCD) This is the fourth edition, white pedal, black knobs, red LED. I am a guitarist playing in a gigging country/rock/blues cover band. I play a Fender American Deluxe Strat through a vintage Fender Quad Reverb.

The item was purchased from eBay for $145.00. I bought this pedal after playing through a friend's. I was looking for a versitlile overdrive pedal that would provide a warm overdrive for single coil pickups.

Where to start, This pedal is easily the best overdrive pedal I have ever played through. It has a very wide gain range. The simplicity of the controls are great, tone, drive, and volume. With the drive at about nine o'clock the sound is a lightly overdriven bluesy tone. If the drive is turned all the way up you get extreme overdrive and nearly distortion. With the twist of a knob, you can get all the different overdrives you need. The pedal is small and doesn't take up much room on a pedal board. It sounds great with humbuckers as well but I feel it is usually easier to get a good overdrive with humbuckers anyway. The price is not exorbitant at $143. An ibanez TS-9 is $100 and the OCD is far superior.

I haven't had the pedal very long so as far as I can tell it is built very well. Nothing has loosened up. The shell is heavy duty and it has the fail-safe external button switch.

Bottom line, this is the best overdrive pedal on the market right now. You may be able to find something similar in a vintage TS-808 but anything in production right now, including the TS-808 doesn't even come close to the sound and versitility. Anyone in the market, spend the extra money and make only one purchase.

The Obsessive Compulsive Drive (OCD) is an overdrive pedal available from Mike Fuller at Fulltone, and it lives up to the Fulltone name. It takes your basic controls for an overdrive, Volume (overall volume of the drive), Drive (amount of gain), and Tone (EQ adjustment) and adds a HP/LP switch (high peak and low peak) which changes the pedal from a clean boost to light drive, to a light drive and smooth distortion tone. True bypass switching , a large LED, and sturdy metal construction round out the features.

UTILIZATION

It is very easy to get a good sound out of this pedal, and with about any amp I’ve paired it with. I believe it’s harder to get a bad sound out of it honestly. The pedal is laid out very well and the knobs are sturdy and turn very smoothly. Fulltone manufactures their own custom potentiometers according to their website “because what has been offered as "Industry Standard" has a 20% failure rate within 2 years”. I’m not sure about that fact, but the ones they put out are very nice. The bypass switches are also heavy duty and designed by Mike Fuller.

SOUND QUALITY

This is possibly one of the greatest drives out there for a light overdrive sound. It sounds very close to actual amp drive and allows the user to gain this at lower volumes. It is very capable of getting an almost clean boost, a light overdrive like a tube amp on the verge of breaking up, or a flat out smooth overdriven amp sound. Where this pedal shines is that it keeps the sensitivity and dynamics of your playing like an amp would and it has that same feel when you play through it. It’s hard to describe, but a lot of pedals just sound like you are replacing your tone with distortion, this pedal just adds to your tone just like pushing the front end of a tube amp. It does a straight up rhythm crunch with plenty of overtones and spank to it.

OVERALL OPINION

Fulltone pedals are pricey, but worth it in my opinion. You’re getting a well made pedal that is going to last that has been designed and hand built by a musician. Mike Fuller is a picky man, and it shows in a very good way. Putting a 5 year warranty on his pedals says a lot too. I really like this company and will be purchasing more pedals from them. This pedal is great in every aspect that I’ve seen. Maybe a little more EQ options may open a few more options to this pedal, but that’s really just asking too much. Additional tones are available with the HP/LP switch and that should cover most needs. It’s a super pedal and a great addition to any pedal board that needs an overdrive.

ATTENTION, this is not an overdrive, it's really a distortion pedal in, trs versatile, from blues to heavy rock.

Recently, I possde an Ibanez RG 2620 which allowed me to redcouvrir OCD. Until recently, I came to him prfrer laCrunch Boxpour saturations enough shoots (when using strat Quema), the OCD too respect the grain of the single coils to get good saturation much feeding.
With humbuckers (Ibanez those of, anyway), I use the prfre OCD for overdrive and many organic mchants well, that the Crunch Box does not allow (the sound is much more smooth, without much nuance).
So, to résumé, I recommend the OCD with humbuckers, a hard!

OVERALL OPINION

This will make an ending for the year that I possde, but I use it only recently in my amp lights.
I particulirement likes to sound the blues Stevie Ray (unfortunately, I'm not the same leg).
In comparison, I tried the drunk driver in Boss (nice, but blah) and Blue Boy MI Audio from home (as if I nly, I would have taken too).

The quality of this pedal is felt right away! the two distortion are really very good. Foot pro!

The highlight is that this pedal is really usable from a little grain to the saturated fat distortion (rock, eh, not metal!). it's really nice. We go from very soft to very hard without any difficulty.

The distortion sounds like a DS1 but exploitable, low saturation and with an additional reserve saturation limit.

SOUND QUALITY

It's great! The knobs are super effective! For a bluesy crunch, the strato micro serious, the volume knob in stratum 5, the receiver on the channel clear and loud enough that you got more send! The grain is vintage trs Fidler staying at the sound of the guitar, with a boost in trslger mdiums. Be careful not to over boost the treble on the amp, the pedals sound trs Marshall with crystal clear highs.
To sound more muscular turn the drive but be careful if you want to send the "highway to hell" dchirer fragile eardrums, it's better to change class! Gibson SG or LP de rigueur. And oddly v'l you in shorts with a blazer ridiculous t'rouler down and make a good eight meters!
If you possdes the first six albums of Zeppelin you s'ras not either!
Anyway in conclusion, is to the ball but I will even buy a "Plexitone" by Carl Martin, Because you got the same sound but much more! Go to the test Plexitone! A big thank you to Davy PDAL Aviss Paris for his advice, no mind sucker.

OVERALL OPINION

It's been three days that I have the two pedals (OCD and Plexitone), my ears bleeding and I must say that even when I had trouble choosing between the two.
The grain of OCD in blues is a bit better but really a bit for the rest of Plexi has a crunch channel, a 20 db boost and a high gain channel. In addition, passing a little time on rglages there is no sound of OCD that I could not reproduce the Plexi and the reverse is not true. The quality of his pedals of both is really the same.
on the other hand I m'demande What goes well I can use my Ibanez Tube Screamer? A tilt the amp, right?

It's been a while since I now use the plexitone and I am always happy but given the current price in the States of OCD (145 USD) I have also cracked the pedals. Why? Because, with the Les Paul range of the crunch is limited to the first quarter of the knob "Crunch" the plexitone whereas with OCD can qualify more easily, and as I said, blues dj OCD is better then for 108 euros more I have both and that's good!
Otherwise it is version 4 of OCD and ds as well I hack in every sense j'f'rai pter p'tit test as a blase Arkos Tina!
