Published on 11/20/10 at 13:00Pedal hard to classify: it is an overdrive / distortion, fuzz kind enough typed, but who can also produce clean and crunch sounds, in short she can do everything!
UTILIZATION
I agree with the previous one is lost at the beginning: the knobs have improbable names, like "hate", "blood", "love" ... It is said that the first 3 knobs correspond to the equalizer, which is not quite true.
Then it takes three minutes to read the doc, and then everything becomes clear.
Two knobs are fundamental: "love" that determines what is looking to have underfoot: an overdrive in the first third of the race and bias in the second half of the race (very schematically), and "Fuzz" which corresponds roughly to the rate of gain.
"Hate" and "Blood" subtly alter the grain that is sought, and "level" determines the output level.
After this first successful approach, there are still plenty of time to go to discover the incredible range of sounds that this pedal is capable of producing ...
SOUND QUALITY
Ultra versatile, we get almost anything you want, subject to place upstream of a good tube amp, and spend the time necessary in understanding subtle that little boi-box.
I played on a Mesa Boogie Rectifier, including large modern distos are no longer brag, but with more vintage distos may be a little less exceptional. This is the pedal that I needed to produce fleshy or crunches distos stuffed fuzz cradingue harmonic type, I love it!
While many things are possible with this pedal, however it excels in vintage colors instead (sounds from Hendrix to the Stones, ACDC or Guns n 'Roses ...). Mercer
OVERALL OPINION
The box is a separate concept, a pedal to try without taking any account of his look. She has tripled the sonic possibilities (already substantial) of my Mesa Boogie. I care!
