Morley Pro Series Wah

I bought this wah pedal at Guitar Center in Tempe for about $120. The reason I was willing to spend so much, was because of the other reviews on the internet saying what a great pedal this was, and I wanted to compare this to a Dunlop Crybaby.

I like the different sounds you can get from it. For about $100 there are some interesting sounds in this wah, and the more you play it, the better sounds you'll here. It's also sturdy and strong, with a metal casing. This is definently a pro wah that's worth buying.

A few small problems also came with this pedal. The range of the wah was not very large. The great sounds make it sound like a small range, unlike the Crybaby. But the Crybaby wah does not have quality sounds and can be found for about $70. Another thing was the fact that the switch was on the side. It makes it difficult for a player to switch quickly from a rhythym to a solo.

A metal black casing with much room for the feet is what this wah is made of. It is sturdy and well-built. When I dropped it off the stairs and watched it crash down a painful ten steps and onto hardwood floor, I was more than happy that it worked when I plugged it in three hours later. The only damage was some chips in the black painting and the stairs had some chunks missing also.

Overall, this is the kind of pedal you would want to make music or copy some of the classic guitar players. Put it closest to your guitar in an effect chain for nice sounds.

UTILIZATION

Extremely simple, like any wah, there is no secret: flexion / extension of the ankle and voila, with a leg cast is actually more complicated ...
Left in a base control sets the level of the effect (as its name indicates LEVEL) and right base, the on / off switch to enable / disable the effect.
This offset switch the pedal stroke avoids the nags cut effect in the middle of the solo.

SOUND QUALITY

The wah has no taste or vintage voice of Clyde McCoy or CryBaby, however it seems to me that this was not the objective of Morley. Its quality lies in the linear and progressive (as opposed to what I've read about it) the effect.
It is particularly well adapted to distortions even more disgusting. That said the limit gives a rather loud sound without being tinny.
Moreover, if many think it is not made for funk, this is not my opinion, if you work your sound correctly downstream, it adapts easily.
Its strong point is, in my view, the possibility to use frequency filter.
Regarding the knob LEVEL: it did not seem to me very effective but we can manage without worries about the switch, it is not silent, but clearly audible plop low volume, drowning quickly if the amp is pushed to burne.

OVERALL OPINION

My first wah ... a rock-solid with quasi-immortal components (opto-sensitive cell crachotera never compared with a conventional potentiometer). I kept 17 years
A personality of its own (fans hendrixiens sounds, go your way) very oriented distorted sounds.
Price / quality great considering the fact that it buys today exclusively used in € 40.
With the experience I would do this choice? I never really understand this question ... but if you consider that I sold because I did used it more, it would seem not. That said, my style approaching more rock and blues-rock seventies, it makes sense.
Now, it remains an excellent investment for falling in love by trying (yes it is nice the opinion of so and so but it will never be worth a good old test IRL).

- There's electronic components for sure but the rest I know nothing

Are they edited? Via a Mac / PC editor?

What is the connection? (Audio / MIDI)
- 1 IN / OUT 1/1 9V DC (center polarity is negative)

UTILIZATION

The general configuration is it simple?

- The effect is there, but I like the croaking of a dunlop or vox. For now I keep it anyway, but maybe one day .....
Otherwise I find it oddly mounted, it creaks a lot. On stage it's not hear at all, but at home it was a bit stupid "is your ankle crying oil like that you make yourself look old: lol

Which instruments do you use?
I tried one day with my bass, but with my electric guitars it makes better, moreover this is geared here

How long have you use it?
- Since the friend I sold it. I think it was in 1997 but there's so long that I do not remember too

What is the particular feature you like best and least?
- Minimum: not as a croaking dunlop but squeaky a full ankle osteoarthritis

Have you tried many other models before buying it?
- A few years ago, the same friend lent me his dunlop and I still regret not having bought him this one

How would you rate the quality / price?
- I think the brand pays well, but still recognize that it is super strong need

With experience, you do again this choice? ...
- Next it will dunlop or vox (I try to be sure of what I want)

SOUND QUALITY

Trs good for mtal and sound distortion,
effective with all types of distortion (as some like wah cry-baby does not necessarily Grente trs well the frequencies of some fuzz)
It is less clear in its convaicante, not for the funky tip top
deuxime snag the first version of the switch SERIES morley bed in the amp, inaudible noy in dito, it will be noted in the clear, or if you dclenche without playing over (a habit take)

always in perfect state of operation of malrgr trs many users (sometimes amme the ground outside),
