OVERALL OPINION

I have a lot of micro akg CS1000, SE Electronics, Neuman, ...
On holiday I wanted to buy a cheap microphone to record some ideas. I went to Pigalle for advice from a shop (shop sound) or I was advised not hésitter this product.
A little confused considering the price I first started to be saved my guitar (a Martin). and here I am still stuck!
placement is done without any problem and the rendering is really true! At this price it's really amazing. Even taking a voice rendering is exceptional. I recommends that they micro the Swiss Army knife really easy to use and made with the typical AKG.

Microphone type: mixed / vocals.
Technology: capacitor.

No frills, good features, but no additional switch or switch.

OVERALL OPINION

Good microphone at a great price (100 €), which I used for voice recording, and the animation radio.
I used with phantom power brand Behringer.
The sound was clear and detailed, more suitable for medium voice, I think.

This microphone has a professional brand akg (I already had one of their headphones Dj, which led me to this micro), while providing a relatively good for its price rather low. Therefore my rating is 9 / 10. AKG hat!

The AKG Perception 100 is a large diaphragm condenser microphone that is on the low end of the spectrum as far as mics go that are made by AKG.  The mic is designed for use in the recording studio and since it is a condenser microphone I would suggest only using it in the studio as that it what it is best for.  The microphone has a cardioid polar pick up patter and advertises that it will pick up between 20 Hz and 20 KHz.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using the AKG Perception 100 for about six months or so and while this isn't even close to a top end microphone, this is pretty good bang for your buck as this is a usable microphone at an incredibly low price.  The mic has a decent sound quality, but unless you are in a home studio or simply doing demos, I don't think the sound quality is up to par for a professional.  AKG is a fine maker of microphones, but since the price is so low and this is at the end of spectrum for AKG, it isn't the best made or sounding mic.  For this reason, I would really only recommend the mic for low end home studios or project studios.  This would also be a good choice for someone looking to get a single microphone to record ideas or if you are just looking to start up a rig.  There are plenty of other microphones in this price range these days, so I would absolutely recommend trying out a few other microphones in the under $100 USD range if you are looking for a mic like this.  The price is so cheap that even if you don't love the mic, you aren't risking all that much.  All in all, this is nicely priced mic that doesn't sound half bad.

It is basically just the mic, no pad switches or anything. It looks nice though.

It has a pretty sturdy case. Doesen't feel too cheap. I have dropped it a few times, but nothing more than scrathes and a dent in the windscreen have happened. Still works as well as the day I bought it. And you don't have to worry about breaking it because its only 120 bucks. I'm still carefull with it, of course.

OVERALL OPINION

Sounds great. Really makes my mixes come alive. This is the first condensor I have actually used in my studio, and it really makes everything I record with it sound brighter and clearer. For the price, it is great.

If it were stolen, I would probably buy another one. It has done so much good for my drums and vocals, I would hate to see it gone! I love it, and I love the price.

The AKG perception series is their line of condenser mics that start out as cheap mics for the budget minded, but the higher end ones are a bit nicer and can hold their own in terms of their sound. This is the first one in the line and cheapest. They have actually updated the mic and it is now the Perception 120. It is a cardioid condenser microphone that has a large diaphragm. You can't change the cardioid pattern on this which definitely limits how useful the mic can be in your studio, especially when you consider that there are a lot of cheap mics out there that have more features such as the switchable pattern. The mic does include a 20 dB pad though, which can definitely come in handy if your signal is peaking before it hits your DAW. The mic needs phantom power since it's a condenser mic and connects with an XLR cable, so this mic might be a bit more than the average podcaster can handle, but sonically it might not be up to spec for the recordist who is getting into music engineering. The mic doesn't come with a shock mount either, which is too bad because some other mics in this price range do. The mic is built pretty solidly, it seems like it could take a beating and keep on working just fine. AKG is definitely known for sturdy mics.

OVERALL OPINION

This is one of the mics I used to have when I was getting into recording. I upgraded after a short while, but this mic definitely worked for me while I had it. The price is obviously what's going to get people interested in this mic as one of the cheapest condenser mics out there that is being made by a reputable company. Unfortunately the lack of additional features and the fact that the mic does not have a very smooth or detailed sound will keep this mic out of the good studios and hands of experienced engineers. I wouldn't get it again but it's a pretty good beginner microphone.
