good for vocals
Published on 11/01/11 at 12:33We have used the SE Electronics Z3300 A microphone several times over the last few years and liked it so much. But not long after we started using it I purchased the PR35 wireless head to replaced my Shure 87A head on my wireless. I sold my Neumann KMS 105; which is a very good high qualify condenser microphone. This is what I now sing with. I'm a high tenor, I sing 3 full octaves. The SE Electronics Z3300 A is the first microphone that allows me to clearly hear by whole voice when singing. Whether you're a singer or a screamer, if you enjoy singing this is the mic for you. With the gain turned up there was a crispness and high-end attack that seemed to help me find my voice i knew this was the path i should have followed ..then...it took a dump on me. Started cutting out. knew it was time to invest in something that would allow me to articulate my sound. It also used 3 Polar pattern.
OVERALL OPINION
Overall, I am very glad we chose to use this mic for several recordings, it has made our mixes sound great without a lot of effort on the engineer’s part and its been a joy to use every chance i get now. The low end cut off switch is an interesting addition. The band I am in had been smiling as well I have clarity texturing. So when I soften the end characteristics of a lyrical line..in to a soft vibrato. It all is present not lost in the mix. The mike cuts thru...and its true joy. Look if your after a sound. And singing is your thing. give this one a try

OVERALL OPINION
How long have you use it?
A year and a half singing mostly.
For making sound of acoustic instruments occasionally.
Have you tried many other models before buying it?
No this is my first condenser microphone.
What is the particular feature you like best and least?
The +:

No this is my first condenser microphone.
What is the particular feature you like best and least?
The +:
- Ultra sensitive.
- Clear sound in the treble and bass too poorly defined.
- Great suspension with elastic parts.
- Silent rest.
The -:
- Heavy and bulky.
- The input range. It takes a string of flattering downstream processing to get something good.
- Do not cash large acoustic pressures.
How would you rate the quality / price?
Good quality / price ratio. Without further.
Very good for a first home purchase.
With experience, you do again this choice?
Before, yes for singing. Now much less.
I recently bought a Neumann TLM127 and there is no photo. This is the day and night. Neumann makes a SLAP, and not a little careful not slap, but a tamper pif.
That said, this is not the same budget.
I would use for overhead Z3300a instead or in addition.

Very good microphone but does not last
Published on 06/29/12 at 01:19 (This content has been automatically translated from French)Micro Voice mainly. Good sound quality.
OVERALL OPINION
After about four years of loyal service, the microphone started making noise. Note that this mic is made in China. I bought it under the advice of my dealer, and I regret my purchase now. 4 years of life for a microphone that is not correct I think. Some brands are guarantees to 10 years, not visibly SE electronics.
I am in contact with SE support but I will have to pay for repairs at my expense with shipments to the UK ... because I live in Switzerland.

This mic is not deaf :)

How long you use it? I bought it 6 months ago or so.
How would you rate the quality / price? very good
With experience, you do again this choice? Yes, but to complete my park (very small at the moment because I have a SM57, SM58 and Z3300A), my neighbor could be a Audio Technica, Shure or Neumann, these three brands ultimately remains to be defined model or models, because I do not sing myself, so everything will depend on the voice of the person with whom I would work.
