I do not know. I like it well is a great tool to compose and produce the same (I did some songs with). But for better models came out. So maybe if something came out in midday, I would stay on this side (not the RC-50, that either !!!).

UTILIZATION

The config is very simple .. the manual is in English but I have not had to because I had a JamMan some time ago and the basic principle is the same ... For those who use it for the first, the french manual can be downloaded from the site of BOSS. and a quick glance may be necessary but you'll quickly get the beast under control.

I had some small difficulties in taking out different mix of early (like, it records the avoerdubs a normal volume and almost no one hears when listening not ..) but now it's going.

Loop Quantize function works wonders .. very useful for me as a handle ...

SOUND QUALITY

I use it with a piano and a scratch .. I plug the microphone jack on the piano .. I must say the sound is really good .. and yet I overload the RC-20 .. I often phrase out over two or three overdubs and sound is good!

OVERALL OPINION

I would do this choice without any hesitation. As mentioned earlier, I had a JamMan (which is fine too) but I would resume a RC-20 because it corresponds better to my utility. For example, I can connect my piano because it is a jack for XLR microphone jack and not .. There is a function to fade out of the loop stop (very useful live). The rythlme are far more diverse than in the JamMan ... In other words, much more useful function in live ... For cons, the Jamna will be much more appropriate for and dials (USB to send and receive samples, memory card, 100 presets ..,...)

Does everything said. It is true that the tap tempo rglage can only annoying when you want to do studio, and a possibility of the tempo in BPM rgler t have a good idea. But it does not matter because if the JamMan excels in this case, the RC20 XL scne on her! And I guarantee you that nothing beats a good tap tempo.

Not being able to BPM tempo rgler prs is when handicapping same time, as the impossibility to export files via USB. And RC30 was released, and a nice little TC ... In fact, the JamMan is also scne ...

UTILIZATION

Gnrale the config is very simple. This is my Premire loop pedals and I was afraid a little gas plant. None of has! Here everything is in the hands, feet and eyes. I would strongly recommend a dual footswitch to change from a loop on the other, as' do. The footswitch for the reverse mode is less important, I think.

For ceuw never used the loop and who say, Damn, must grate tempo, death must be square to use a! Mr Boss you thought. You rglez the tempo early, you select the function and loop quantize bte "catch" your imprcisions pdestres. I use this little function, but provided you do not Exceeds terminals, not bad. Start recording at the foot or Manir automatic, too. I personally prfre foot, I feel of being more in, but it is subjective. The CONTRL Systm of the two switches is thinking. The Undo function is handy when you Caguas ..

The tap tempo is good, but I'm not a machine. And my drummer either (well, a little more when same). Feedback, I started using the rglage the tempo of the loop before it is to create. To get an IDE, with its RC20XL compare the Update main competitor, the Digitech JamMan. The JM has made sound equally correct, and even better for the microphone input. With its USB port, it is more multifunctional than Boss, which in no case can replace a DVR. That said, also has user-friendly.

I use it to Manir intermittently for 3 years. I like its simplicity and its ct "Plug and Play". His refusal to work with a PC is as admirable as regrettable. Let me explain. UTILIZATION

The interface is super-intuitive to some that I used to have pedals. Everything is clearly marked. Écrt everything is in English (even the record, one little snag for those who understand no English) but the drawings are sufficient in themselves. The functions are easy to understand.

Level where it's completely amazing. I use this pedal a Fender Tele avcec Mexico Wilkinson modified with microphones, and output an I-50 Marshall Dfx.

Then as the sound is digital, it can be noted a slight difference between what is play and the phrase samplée, but I really do not know if it's because my amp simulates the presence of lights but frankly it by ear more than light.

I for a month, and for me, although I have not compared with the concurrrence, this pedal is the best!

Already, the reputation of Boss stompboxes in terms of no longer do is the solid, serious. I chose this pedal because of this, and especially the function reverse which is huge.

Level price, I paid € 249 is a bit expensive but I buy a small independent store rather than order it on the internet certainly cheaper but there I was able to test it and it helps small traders (that's another debate!). Well, ok it feels fast compared to the limits that can offer the RC-50 ... failing to make up my mind at the use I needed it I opted for compromise rather than RC 20XL RC-2 or RC-50 ... OVERALL OPINION

I use it for more than 10 years, it was my first purchase of this type.
Initially, I used it mainly for jamming with me, work my solos.
Then to compose and record ideas on the fly. Now I use it in my preamp for acoustic guitar through a Shure SM 57 and the microphone: duo very effective! Realistic sound to perfection, the signal can be adjusted before the amp and I can add effects to independent power connected to the same toy, and everything on a single amp. The Loopstation has naturally found its way into my line of effects, both "fun" of samples and in terms preamp for acoustic!

This is my sense that the bottom hurts, I will explain:

Sound recording s desire leaves I think. Felted but twangy, it's not flattering and it should absolutely put him in the loop of the amp.

The Boss RC-20XL Loop Station is the ultimate device for looping and sampling.  I've only got experience with the pedal in tandem with an electric guitar, but this can definitely be mixed and matched and used with other electronic instruments and even a microphone if you have an XLR to 1/4" converter.  The pedal has a slew of 1/4" connections for mic and instrument inputs as well as for output, phase shift, and reverse.  It also has a smaller jack for an auxiliary input.  I have powered the pedal with the Boss power supply that can along with it, and I'm not sure what other kind of power supply would be able to power it up.  Obviously enough, the RC-20XL isn't rack mountable as it is a workstation controlled by your feet.

UTILIZATION

The Boss RC-20XL Loop Station has a ton of features to work, so getting acquainted with everything that it has to offer will take a little bit of time.  Having said this, the pedal has everything laid out clearly, there are just a lot of features to get used to.  You can store up to 11 phrases at a time, so there is a knob to choose between them, as well as parameters for level, guide, mic and instrument input levels, and buttons for reverse, tap tempo, write, exit, auto start, and mode.  There are two foot pedals which control the recording, overdubbing, and erasing of your phrases.  Getting used to everything going on with the Boss RC-20XL Loop Station took me a little bit of practice, but Boss makes it easy enough that all it takes is a bit of time.  If you're a beginner or new with looping, it might be a good idea to have the manual around as well.


SOUND QUALITY

The Boss RC-20XL Loop Station doesn't offer up any actual sounds of its own really, beyond throwing your sounds in reverse.  However, the pedal won't color your tone in anyway other than how you set it.  Everything goes in exactly the way that it comes out, which is what you look for in a pedal of this nature.  I've used the pedal with a Fender Jazzmaster Reissue and a '76 Fender Twin Reverb.  I just love layering different phrases and riffs, and having in total 16 minutes of recording really makes it possible to save everything that you'd like.  A few other cool features on the pedal include auto quantization, and the ability to change the tempo without changing the pitch, which is really awesome...


OVERALL OPINION

As far as looping pedals go, the Boss RC-20XL Loop Station is probably the most complete one that I have seen to date.  There are a bunch to choose from nowadays like those made by Digitech and Line 6, but Boss, as per usual is at the top of their game here.  The RC-20XL is also a pretty considerable upgrade from the RC-20, as it gives you more storage space and time to work with.  The price isn't all that cheap, but is about right for a looping station with this much versatility and features.  I'd encourage those interested in looping pedals to absolutely check out this pedal as well as Digitech JamMan and the Line 6 JM4, but the Boss RC-20XL is definitely my favorite of the bunch.
