EVH D-Tuna makes drop D tuning easy

    EVH D TunaPublished on 08/06/12 at 21:47
This is a great solution to quickly drop tuning a trem guitar. I slapped this on my Charvel in no time, fine-tuned it as per the instructions and have never looked back. A quick press and pull and you get chunky drop D tuning in perfect pitch. This is a great tool from a gigging perspective as it makes for one less guitar I have to lug around. You can quickly and easily switch from drop D to regular and vice versa. Installation was as easy as removing the string lock screw on the low E string and replacing it with the one provide with the Dtuna. You can quickly and easily switch from drop D to regular and vice versa. Installation was as easy as removing the string lock screw on the low E string and replacing it with the one provide with the Dtuna. Once you get it attached you simply tune the E down to D and use the fine tuner on the Dtuna to get it perfect. After that your E is pretty much perfect with maybe a slight adjustment on the tuner. My only advice would be to make sure to block your trem so it is fully locked against the body, any play will create havoc and you will never get it right. I would also suggest reading the manual, which is simple and quick. There is an order to set it up and if you don't do it right, you won't get the results you hope, trust me. This is a great musician’s tool to make a great guitar even greater and more versatile. Comes in black, gold and chrome. This is a great device and works as promised. Well worth the cost. Keep in mind this does not work on a full floating trem or a trem that is recessed into the body of the guitar. I have this on my EVH Wolfgang and my Charvel and only wish it could work on my Ibanez. Great design and clever device, highly recommended!

Hop! Small accessory super expensive but convenient to get in tune drop D without a Floyd.

Two screws of different sizes to replace the set screw of the E string, a small spring, a chrome stamped EVH sliding contraption to spend half in D, an allen key to fine-tune the agreement in mid.

Super tench to ask, cotton set: in D agree on this rope, by blocking the Floyd, and then slide the gadget chrome and finish tuning in E with mini Allen. Of course, it was designed for non-floating Floyds, so to avoid stalling Floyd he left behind almost obligatory (at least the time of the grant / change strings). Otherwise it is almost impossible to solve.

Well, apart from that, that bush still just that thing, you really love drop D. ..

ATTENTION: it does not fit all types of Floyd, for example, it will not work with Floyd fine tuners offset (Jackson, Banez Low Pro, etc.)..

With the quip of my floyd trem setter of Jackson to the blocquer trmolo I CHRE curiosities the cd to install an EVH D Tuna. Once installed and rgl is really effective, stunning and easy to use. We can consider switching to a riff in D, E to go and vice versa in one piece.

The manual is not easy to understand and the pictures does not explain the entire operation of the D Tuna. In fact I realized only install APRS APRS have some trial and error that the forward movement of the rear-D-TUNA SETTING THE was substituted at the wheel of fine tuning by exerting a rapid movement towards up or down on the rear of the trigger guard of the low E string, a matching tone. Consquence the rglage of precision tuning, fine tuning is almost neutralized.

Obviously, if the installation is relatively simple (5 minutes), under these conditions SETTING THE agreement is much less with only the mcanique of the head taking into account the need then reblocquer nut. This changes the lgrement rglage initial impact and the final agreement in D and E, must therefore be considered compensation. The rglage is by trial and error and therefore we get a compromise between the D and E (I am not yet arrived when it in fact possible, but a perfect rglage / 8 tone, it goes).
Without blocking the floyd, the opration dstabilise is impossible because we invited the balance of the floyd on the other strings.
Can also be installed on the Floyds low profile (type III or lo-Ibanez Edge) because it is the same as the original Floyd Rose (and copies) that allows the operation of the D-Tuna.

Résumé in hand the price and the relative difficulty of rglage (APRS but it does not move, phew), it is really practical as an accessory, if we can blocquer the Floyd.
