Both say the lamp is on for the marketing ...

The amp is a numerical modeling

It is 30W and has two programmable channels.

It is equipped with an HP 10 "vox not great but does the job.

Note an interesting headphone jack and the ability to use a footswitch to change presets and activate / select the effect Inactive

UTILIZATION

The configuration is not easy according to the simulation, however, remaining soft on the EQ and do not always push the gain 10on doing pretty well.

The digital board effeets are not exactly terrible, but not really necessary either, it's a good way to test different effects at low cost

SOUNDS

Simulations with the quality it offers (the overdrive react to the attack and volume knob, it is far from Roland Cube sounding like the guitar or whatever the game), it is easy to find the sound that goes well (clean, OD or distortion rock, see metal)

After it is dedicated for use at home (already too powerful for such use but manageable), it is rough-volume repeat because of its low HP.

OVERALL OPINION

For use at home can do it, but for my part I sold it for quite some time. Even if the models are real, they are still a bit cold (it's not the cata either).

Since I came back on numerical modeling Vox (Korg actually) via Pandora, which is ideal for me to play with headphones at home without making a sound (listen to a song in MP3 at the same time).

UTILIZATION

Simple configuration for which the choice of amplifier, gain, volume, equa. Many possible configurations.

The adjustment effect is more complex as is possible with two buttons I think.

Easy to achieve good sound anyway, especially with the power attenuator.

SOUNDS

It happens to have a lot of sounds with the simulation:
- Nice clean sounds, although far from a fender blues junior or a Vox AC15.
- The crunch: it works well on all that is Marshall.
- Distortion: bof for all that is high gain.
I use mainly clean and with the marshall.

I find it very low and suddenly the sound is "dark". Difficult to get crystal clear sound. Likely that the speaker is there for something and my little playroom

I also find that push a little volume allows for a more "homogeneous", if the bass predominate.

Tested with a lag roxanne RS1000 and a schecter 006.

OVERALL OPINION

I tried a lot of models in the same price range and it is true that it was not bad.

Today for the same price range (about 300 €) we find all low-power lamps and I can not do it again the same choice. Indeed, while the sound of a lamp is incomparable, especially with speakers of the same size as the VT30.

The advantage of the hybrid for me is to have a wide range of sounds, with adjustable volume. And no messy cables between the pedals, ... For home, while the 15W lamp above is redundant (the marshall class 5 (5W) is too powerful for use in apartment ...).

This is a modeling combo amp, a digital one, made by Vox. It has a tube pre-amp, which is what Vox would have you believe makes it sound just like a Tube amp. It's not, though. Don't believe them. The tube output is what makes a tube amp sound like a tube amp. This has a 30 watt circuit. There are eleven different amp models as well as eleven effects. There are two programmable channels of customized sounds that can be controlled with a footswtich (sold seperately). There are controls for gain, volume, bass, middle, treble, presence, and effects, which range from reverb (3 different kinds) to delay, tremolo, chorus, flanger, and a few combinations of effects.

UTILIZATION

Getting a good sound out of this amp is actually quite difficult. Like most modeling amps, this one is great for getting a lot of different types of tones. However, most of the amp models are quite limited in their application. That is, they aren't very flexible, unlike a tube amp, which will respond differently to differences in dynamics, pickups, pedals, etc. The manual will explain how to use the effects, but it will still be difficult. I actually find it quite difficult to control the effects to this day, even after having gone over it in the manual several times.

SOUNDS

The sounds on this amp have a wide variety of ranges, but none of them are particularly great. They do imitate everything from on old Roland Jazz Chorus to a Vox AC30, to a Marshall tube stack, to a boutique high-gain amp, but none of them really are all that fantastic sounding. The closest one would have to be the AC30 but that's to be expected as it's made by Vox. I think that that sound is the only one I tend to use, as it has been more than applicable to most of my needs, from rock to blues and such. The effects on this amp are also pretty weak, to be honest, since they are pretty generic-sounding and have limited flexibility (and what flexibility they do have is difficult to achieve, because of the aforementioned difficulties in adjusting them.)

OVERALL OPINION

I like the flexibility of tones, which will work for gigs that require it, but I don't like the fact that few, if any, of these tones are exceptionally good. I don't like the effects either, because they are tough to adjust and don't sound very good. I'm not sure why I ever messed with this line of amps, I probably expected better from Vox, but I guess their new products don't do justice to their old ones.
