This is the first and only control surface that I used.
This led me to buy it, it is the ratio of the number of tracks / price. This was the area with the cost of the least expensive on the market track. Therefore, despite the mixed reviews I've read, I bought it. I was wrong.
I operated on Cubase. It makes the job a whole but has two problems.
One that I could see coming: there is no display of the names of tracks on the surface. So, we have to always look up to the screen to be sure to get it right.
Second, the channel configuration of the surface is quite complex and damn bad.
Finally, the faders make noise when they move (that's three, say two and a half since the latter problem is minor enough for me).
Once it works, the diodes are pretty nice when the light is turned off the home studio.

I just bought the model of US-2400 from Tascam.
I had some problems (not bad) at the facility.
I followed exactly the install (on my PC, Windows XP) .. First of all I started a session and then connected the usb and power; info for LED "Power" was highlighted "fixed", which I think think is normal .. Voila, connected to the Internet I wanted to update the firmware directly even before testing the device on my soft (cubase sx 2.2) .. I downloaded the small program used to "updater" the US-2400 ... I disconnect my other MIDI devices as required (midisport a 8X8 and a adda2000 STaudio possessing an IN and OUT 2 pm) .., I unplug the tascam, I hold the key "power" and connects "food" and then releases the "Power" button .. soon as it flashes the little doc said ds' .. I plug the usb .. then "next" step 5 again "next" I am a step 6 of the download firmware when suddenly the error message "An error occurred downloading the firmware. Tascam Please contact technical support"
I have seen this error a couple of times, the same test was tearing their hair ...
Tascam Support: injoinable, it leaves a mail and we have no answer ...

+ .. 1 week later, still no response, I retry ... I will update the bios of my motherboard before (A7V8X-X), I will retry that firmware up to date and has a second plant at the end, I retry it works ..
Small note at the end, "turn off the computer, unplug the usb controller on the back of the pc, wait 30 seconds .., plug the USB and start a session, ...
I wait, the LED lights usb so the computer recognizes it, c already something .... but the power button flashes very quickly (like waiting for an update what) ..
Resigned to redo the firmware update, I unplugged before CU can reconnect (just to see ...) and then all the lights were turned on and off, power button is "stable", ready to get into a mode protools , Logic, Sonar or Cubase, m'enfinnnnn !!!!! not too early

3 days later, an email that I wrote a tascam everything you just read ..!
The mail said:

"How did you perform your upgrade?"

blah blah reactivity, if it works but I had to take relaxation classes such as "Zen"

No, but read a lot of opinions on this type of product, and different brands!

It is compared to other models, it's not for every budget but well worth its price.

Yes because I know the beast but hey, have to be motivated all the same.

I have this machine for 2 months but so given the failure of the transformer which dja hard for 1 month and still loves to do this until ...
What I like most? 110mm faders The last I do believe I am fortunate to have daily before our eyes if I forget (since the time I used more, because a APRS sales service from Tascam)
Luckily I purchased a MODEL as a friend also had a tascam who fell in the road (in his head he understood the need to rev quickly move on)
So I have no luck or despite numerous emails and I pass the time I write you a pert, you guessed it, I would not be good advertising for this product ... or we must understand that, when it works to go to a sirga it lasts! (Bad luck for me, I am not a believer)
So if you do not believe this text as mieus I sell my TASCAM US-2400 (recess without transformer)
But what price ....! Of Report quality was ... well ... delighted to be believed!

It's been a year since I use it with DP 4.5 + Logic Pro 7.1

with DP it sends control pan, fader solo rec mute, Jog, transport access to the markers,
one mode to view mode allows you to see the levels of the slice on the knob
the software displays on the screen of the computer the names of bands and levels, just to know where you are: very practical

with logic it is in native mode: o one reaches the control plug, the chanel trip, but the soft lcd does not work so we never know where you are !!!!!
and no way to metrenon peoples shit what logic!

Pro Tools not try

what I like least:

followed by a poor software to the surface, either DP or Logic ke much logic do a lot of effort,
Wallpapers are not good but we bought kand we know already! software lcd software is very practical but kon c kil mode does not work with logic antifa !!!!!

I love the most

- 24 + Master fader!! changes everything and more they are your good qualitbr /> - look ... plush simple and sober
- USB connection !!!!! you see yourself as a MIDI with 6 cables with the Mackie Control + 2 extensions !!!!!
- Purchase price is a quality year in music 1400 West 300 more than the Mackie
I had the Mackie Control pdt 1 year 8 faders c but not very intuitive certe we gain control of plugs but super boring ct + 32 setups for a stroll through EQ and 8 blocks from .... Setting Up Your Mouse I was going to blow the lot swifter
in addition to the screen well, but c c while abrger must therefore aptly named track c and c tjrs not very clear then .... I wanted to buy the short extension yen but was no more available advan me!

so I'm going to see my favorite dealer who lend my tascam to try
the update was a little galley but ...
already expected, the faders was much nicer that the mackie ke!
DP of no surprise, I was thrilled!

and logic, the software manages the native version of the console so the blow is the miracle of control plugs and more!!

good is also kind of weird not mute and solo the midi track!!
but I am sure ke ca just logic!! cut my hand! He was so soft that byzarre

Frankly if you can afford vs. tjrs meter + 3000 + MIDI interface with ki is in the Mackie, but I c no faders frankly I find them a shit!
At this price worth more s'achetre a digital console I think it sounds not the same

Jai, for over a year, acquired a Tascam US-2400 DAW. The Tascam St and the many resellers of this unit, stipulated, according to the Tascam Pub owner, this silent compatible Pro Tools. The above, for complment information, contact the importer jai franais the Tascam US-2400, which, not knowing what the approximate trs compatibilitsgnrales device , advised me to join Tascam States. The latter told me loud and clear in the softphone, that this device worked with Pro Tools. Which? Their Hot Line did not know, but any Manir, photo support, the US-2400 worked perfectly with my Pro Tools 7. and 7.1 TDM
The above APRS multiple tests and multiple configuration, HUI or not, it s'avre that this device does not work with Pro Tools 7. or 7.0 TDM

The unit is attractive, but it hlas rsulte nen, and it does that with my simple opinion dusager pay the public price, that of a powerful technology and advertising scam. The marketing has been one more victim.
For several months I am struggling to find a solution, but in vain.
So I speak directly to Tascam, and asks Repair Tool or a gesture of goodwill to give me one last rponse conclusive and not a speech srieuses vain and suites.

It lacks, however, two three functions that would have to stop using the mouse and keyboard

The Tascam US 2400 is a MIDI based control surface designed for use with various digital audio workspaces. While it looks like a console, it merely controls what you would control inside of the box with a sequencer. This is helpful for those who want the feel of real faders and knobs but don't have a real console. I believe the US 2400 is compatible with just about any type of DAW, but I have used it primarily with Cubase SX. While this unit is a bit big for smaller or home studios, it is nice to have 24 faders and channel strips to control any and all tracks you might have within your sequencer. If 24 is not enough you can shuffle between whatever tracks you would like to control. Each virtual channel has a fader, as well as buttons for mute, solo, and record ready. Each also has a knob on top that is programmable. On the right side of the controller, there are transport buttons like play and record, as well as a master fader and a number of buttons to control various options, some of which are programmable. The overall look of the US 2400 is nicely laid out, which makes everything easy to access and even easier to understand. Learning this control surface is quick, and its capabilities are wide. A lot of us out there don't always like controlling our DAWs with our mouse, and the Tascam US 2400 can make that a thing of the past. While this is bigger than other control surfaces like the Mackie HUI or the Digidesign Command 8, it doesn't get as in depth in terms of what you can control as these other options. For me, this is fine as I prefer to control a lot of things in the box, and the US 2400 covers all the ends that I would like to control outside of my DAW. The price of the US 2400 is quite reasonable, and is a lot cheaper than you might think. Overall, I highly recommend the Tascam US 2400 for home studio owners looking to get a control surface of this nature.
