Dynamic player's pedal

Boss DN-2 Dyna DrivePublished on 07/14/11 at 13:20
Today amp market and gear electronics have everything you could ever want to help sculpt your musical journey. There are no gain amp, clean amp, mild gain, medium gain, hotrodded, super hot-rodded, high gain, brutal gain, and an assortment of things too long to list. There are some amps that are tight and unforgiving and then there some like Marshall or a Mesa Boogie that are more forgiving to the player's touch. Then there are some amp that the more you dig in the distorted it gets and the more you play cleaner the cleaner it gets. This is commonly referred to an amp with dynamics. SOUND QUALITY

Just like the Boss pedals BD-2 and Od-3 this pedal responds to the dynamic touch of your playing style. So the more you really hit the strings the more distorted the tone gets. If you plat lighter and fluffier then the amp will clean up with your touch. This is an interesting pedal for those who want more feel from an amp with no feel. i am wondering if this would help out the amp modeling world. As many of us know the amp modelers sound terrible and have NO dynamics. Perhaps this pedal would aid in that correction. Well needless to say this pedal does do hat it claims to do. It is cool if you don't have a very good amp.

OVERALL OPINION

At new these pedals come in right at around $89. which is a good price. This pedal is good for someone who wants to add subtle distortion overdrive to his tone and wants it to respond with precise dynamics. I would recommend this pedal to someone who needs a smoother subtle overdrive o r someone who needs to feel the amp better in his or her touch.

Boss DN-2 Dyna DrivePublished on 01/27/10 at 13:58
This is a distortion pedal that reacts drastically to the natural dynamics of your guitar playing. It's a basic analog pedal that uses the basic 1/4" I/O. It isn't rackable, and can't be edited through a Mac or PC program.

UTILIZATION

The three knobs on this guy mean that it operates similar to a basic distortion pedal, like Boss's own DS-1. The setup is pretty simple, just a Level knob for output level, a drive knob that controls gain (distortion), and a tone knob to change the EQ. The manual explains this clearly, though it's hardly necessary, anyone could figure this pedal out.

The manual explains this clearly, though it's hardly necessary, anyone could figure this pedal out.

SOUND QUALITY

I used this pedal with my Strat and my Twin, and I must say, I was rather uncertain how I felt about it. Make no mistake, this pedal is cool. The differences between tones when playing softly and loudly are drastic. It gives the player a real freedom to affect the music they want naturally, and let their fingers do the work when it comes to tone. This is something I really enjoy as a player, and I feel very often that distortion pedals rob you of dynamics. That's what I really like about this pedal. Unfortunately, this pedal doesn't really sound THAT great. While it's far better than many of the weaker distortion pedals out there, including many made by Boss, it's still a little weak for me. I feel as though they are trying to emulate a really cranked tube amp, which will also give you a vast range of dynamics. Unfortunately, while it mimics that range nicely, it doesn't really sound as good, which frustrates me, as I use predominantly tube amps. Some of the lighter distortion tones are totally unnecessary in my opinion. This pedal can get far heavier and more distorted than a tube amp naturally can, so I suppose it does have that advantage over it.

OVERALL OPINION

Again, the control of dynamics with this thing is liberating and exhilarating. I'd say that for many people, this would be a great purchase, especially if they aren't satisfied with the lack of distorted dynamics that happens to so many of us. I've seen them go online for about 80-90 dollars and that's a great price for this, you really can't beat that. I'm sure that there's many people out there who would love the sound of this pedal, so it definitely should be commended.

This pedal provides a distortion that varies with the attack of the strings. Playing softly, you get a smooth its almost clear, but frankly, attacking the strings you get a real distortion. This corresponds to the variation we are looking for a tube amp, which is set "on the edge" to get the nuances of his game with saturation

UTILIZATION

Configuration is very simple:
1. the level of drive can set the desired limit between a clear, distortion
2. the level set the output volume
3. tone can choose the color of the distortion between smooth and dry.

Looking to get the sound that Knopfler is now developing in his last album, I play without a pick. My guitar is an old Aria Made in Japan RS customized with EMG pickups. The effect is awfully good. The change is stirring at the same time very subtle. In position 4, with two singles out of phase, I get the desired sound for many years.

OVERALL OPINION

I for a month. I can not do without. It fits perfectly with my game and allows for variations of distortion I expected. One can switch between arpeggio lick in almost clear, just tinted with a double-note riff very distorted

guitar pedals overdrive / distortion numrique

UTILIZATION

Trs simple configuration. Not need the manual.

SOUND QUALITY

To be honest, I bought this PDAL seeking an overdriven sound in English, a bit dirty, budget of less than 100 euros and analog technology (I did not in my numrique insert string guitar to the amp, I put that in the effects loops). My local music store about the boss OD3 me, but I wanted to compare the Boss OD3, the Boss Blues driver and finally the Dyna Drive, which showcase silent but the seller did not try and did not know.

UTILIZATION

SOUND QUALITY

To be honest, I bought this PDAL seeking an overdriven sound in English, a bit dirty, budget of less than 100 euros and analog technology (I did not in my numrique insert string guitar to the amp, I put that in the effects loops). My local music store about the boss OD3 me, but I wanted to compare the Boss OD3, the Boss Blues driver and finally the Dyna Drive, which showcase silent but the seller did not try and did not know.

Conclusion: the sound of the OD3 is excellent, surprising for a Boss, trs ractif natural dynamics, same for the Blues driver (the difference between the two ears is not immediately indeed, they trs trs are close and the bluesy amricaine). It was the turn of the Dyna drive and I found the sound I was looking for: more dirty, but the attack ractif fuzz pushing the drive.

I bought it and when I got home, I realized it numrique silent (on the site of Boss). I almost take the car and change it directly without giving it a chance because I thought it might finally dnaturer my signal, not to bear with my other pedals comparasion my amp lights etc., and then I did not want numrique for such purpose, let prfrant of delay, reverb etc..

Nanmoins, I forced myself to leave my prjugs ct and I tested all the APRS noon in an Orange amp class A and a Fender Deluxe Reverb . To my astonishment, the pedals sound really can not know that she is numrique, even when the volume down at the end of note, the volume dcrot trs naturally. You can have sounds or Laney VC30 Vox type, but rather thin, sandy trs effective rhythmic or arpges, the notes dtach well: just three knobs rgler the volume, drive and Tone .

I'm really trs tonn and I keep it perfectly complte my setup.

OVERALL OPINION

I just possd prs everything is done in terms of pedals for 20 years and I have sold the most to keep only 3 or 4 MODELS trs typs .

The report price is excellent quality (85 euros).

I think this wins pedals into an amp all lamps to maintain the strong momentum of the amp and have the crunch of the pedals. I do not know what would happen in a transistor amplifier and formulation, in which case I might be taking a more high-end pedals to compensate.

NB: I found the perfect combination by plugging the APRS my Boss pedals Mojo Green that a mule Fender lamps (PDAL absolutely OUTSTANDING! But trs CHRE http:/ / fr.audiofanzine.com / amp-simulator guitar / mojo-France / Mister-Green /): it's a beautiful al, shuffled Fender and Vox.

Another particular feature that can drisoire stepfather for most of you, but the classic biker understand me: it has exactly the old gold color of my Honda 750 Four in 1975, more reason for the acqu RIR.
