AMS-Neve 8803

EQ 2 channel Neve 88R console from (and the new Genesis). The series is one of 88 consoles and peripherals that possde an Auto Recall via USB. Not about to see the buttons move on its own but software guides you through the recall phase.
The buttons are really close to each other but overall the handling is easy. It possde gain of (still active) which is very convenient except when ProCD a comparison with and without EQ. actual gain is not affected by the Bypass. I did a test by using it to amplify a line level and I have noticed a distortion lgre and trs musical signal in addition to giving the shot a lot of color.
Neve has developed a system that impdence matching the input to optimize the signal path.
Anyway, it's not the Neve two bales as I hear by those who are never heard

UTILIZATION

Installation, configuration and handling is very easy. This music is monstrously Eq. Even if you can not really compare a 1073, 1081 to 8803, I really find the delicacy in the treble of 1081 (in a little more shy or less can be serious and color and low m dium (especially) of 1073. But the fawn gnrale rglages will be less "violating" that these two monsters.

I could compare it with the UAD version. It's pretty funny because the plug the IDE gives a little sound of the EQ of the 88R without the feeling of warmth and prsence I found the 8803 (Luckily for the price of b te). I suggest elsewhere on my site a little test video and the diffrence is striking.

Much wiser than the Pultec type 1073.1081 or 8803, however, quite as any color used throughout the Sparta mix. The serious and really dynamic and does not bleed the rest of the grave. The going up and down can be activated even in Bypass (so be careful).
Nothing in this that I can dtest Eq. I think it's the companion IDAL for a studio. A little magic Eq any type of decision. APRS you always have the option also to take a Pultec plutt for a particular thing or Api brief ... I think the Neve 8803 brings together everything I expected color but not too much. Eq a complte and usable for any type of situation ... In short the basis of a rack EQ.

OVERALL OPINION

I have the memory of tens of MODELS essay in context. The 8803 is not a future that will mark MODEL minds as 1073 or 1081. But I think the 8803 also makes this color Neve own any longer as in current use (USB) and the sound gives a quil everything that passes through. And I think in my case it's the Rack Eq IDAL when you want not 30 versions of EQ Different. I would say it is more rapporche an SSL EQ type E that G itself although not really in the same world of sound.
