Aphex 109 Tube Parametric Equalizer

The Aphex Systems 109 Tube Parametric EQ is a parametric EQ in the form of a piece of rackmountable outboard gear. It will take up two rack space units and has XLR connections in the back.


UTILIZATION

The general configuration of the Aphex Systems 109 Tube Parametric EQ is really straightforward and easy to follow. If you have used a parametric EQ before, you will have no problem figuring this unit out. Each EQ band has a knob to set the fixed frequency, a knob to set bandwidth and another knob for gain. It then has a couple of extra filters on the left, as well as switches to put each EQ band in out or. I don't have a manual for this, but it is easy enough to use that you shouldn't need one.


SOUND QUALITY

The sound quality of the Aphex Systems 109 Tube Parametric EQ is top notch. Not only is it easy to zero in on the sound that you are after, but it does so with pristine clarity. Each band has smart fixed frequency slots and covers the whole spectrum of sound. I have used the EQF-100 with virtually every instrument that I usually record - drums, electric and acoustic guitars, bass guitar, and lead and back up vocals. I always get great results and I have always been pleased with the sound quality I get with the Summit EQF-100.


OVERALL OPINION

I've been using the Aphex Systems 109 Tube Parametric EQ parametric EQ for about a year and it has become one of my favorite outboard EQs. While it is more convenient to EQ inside of the box in Pro Tools, this gives me a cleaner signal in my opinion. The EQF-100 isn't cheap by any means and is aimed toward professional studio and engineers, but it is a piece of gear that should last a lifetime and is one of the most reliable outboard EQs out there. I highly recommend the Aphex Systems 109 Tube Parametric EQ to professionals and amateurs alike.

It is an equalizer paramtrique Submitted lamp rack.
It has two inputs and two mono outputs

UTILIZATION

It can be used in mono (4 bands paramtriques) or Stereo (4 paramtriques bands per channel)
For each band is chosen (as with any good equalizer) the frquence, bandwidth affect the gain and also the form of correction (Peak or Shelf)
Added to this is a level of SETTING THE per channel (the deuxime as inactive when using mono (this is not empty?))

Its use is more than simple, there's that turn the knobs cost.

SOUND QUALITY

The corrections are effective trs, has come!
I use it with my synth (Korg X5D) to give it more body.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for three years, j'apprcie particulirement its simplicity of use, quality sound and robust (it seems to be bullet proof!)
I bought for about 175 euros OCCAZ and I am satisfied with the report trs quality price.
Exprience with this choice I would do without hsiter!

EQ parametric two bands stereo or four mono tapes.
Each band is switchable shelve or peak, the width of bandeest adjustable.

they put a lamp somewhere in their circuit. I do not know if it has an influence on the sound, or just marketing.

potentiometers have a notch in the middle is good, but their action is not very pleasant.


UTILIZATION


Configuration switchable 2 / 4 bands is clever. The choice of frequency is good.
symmetric connections in the jack does ps have my favorite choices.
the presence of level control input and output is a good thing to optimize stages of gain and keep a clean signal.



SOUND QUALITY


I've taken to address the mix of tracks by allergy plugins. Finally, there is not much better, ie, no more "beautiful". In terms of sound quality, I do not letrouve better than the correction of a kind yamaha mixer or smack. just more complete.

It is cons quite suitable and effective for correction of mikes on small gigs or rehearsal space, where the correction of a table are not comprehensive enough and can not pick up frequencies that catch.



OVERALL OPINION


3 years' use, I used less and less.

it's cheap (though its price at its release was around de4000 en) and in value for money, not more. I do not do it again this election, given the use I wanted to do.
