[AES] Two new Avid Pro Series plug-ins

The Avid Pro Multiband Dynamics is a 4-band compressor/expander with upward and downward processing modes to apply compression only above or beyond the threshold. Each signal band features solo, bypass, enable/disable options and can output to a separate bus for additional processing, thanks to the built-in Pro Multiband. Last, advanced options allow for parallel compression on each band and you can reduce the noise with the downward expansion feature.

The Pro Multiband Dynamics GUI features threshold, depth, gain and frequency controls per band, as well as input, output and gain reduction meters. The plug-in supports multichannel signals up to 7.1.

The Avid Pro Multiband Dynamics is an AAX DSP and Native 64-bit as well as AudioSuite 64 plug-in for Pro Tools and Pro Tools | HD. It is available for 272.51€ but it can also be rented for 10.31€ (7 days) or 46.41€ (31 days). A trial version can be downloaded from www.avid.com. 

Also new in the Avid Pro Series is the Pro Subharmonic AAX Native/DSP 64 and AudioSuite 64 plug-in designed to reinforce the low-end of your audio projects by generating low frequency signals an octave below the source.

You can fine tune the frequency content of the synthesized effect with high- and low-pass filters, each with Q and cutoff frequency controls. A 4-way selector allows for creating subharmonics and Avid included saturation, Wet/Dry, Lower and Upper Synthesized Band, Direct Bass Band controls as well as a Subharmonic placement (center, front, surround) option for multichannel processing. A fine tune feature with MIDI note input modifies the plug-in filter chain settings each time you play a note.

The Pro Subharmonic plug-ins can be applied to mono, stereo (right/left) and LFE (Low-Frequency Effect) up to SDDS 7.1 surround. It has the same price and renting options as the Pro Multiband Dynamics. You can also test the plug-in for free at www.avid.com. 

Last information, Avid has changed its licensing system and introduced a Pro Tools 11 upgrade/crossgrade option from Pro Tools 9, 10, Pro Tools Expression, Pro TOols LE 8, Pro Tools M-Powered 6 to 8 and Pro Tools MP9 with up to 60% discount compared to previous pricing. Plus, the upgrade includes the renewable one-year Avid Support Plan with access to the Cloud and Avid Marketplace.

Last, starting from November and through December 20th, if you purchase a Pro Tools 11 update/crossgrade with standard support and activate the DAW prior to December 31st, you’ll get a support extension until March 2016.
