Micro super cardioid, super tout court for taking singing LIVE in general, but I would add in medium with a sound level too High ...

Very useful in troubleshooting studio on ropes (tested for you on a viola: it does) and even acoustic guitars, he saved my life several times. In short, it is a true electret do much of anything for my taste. Therefore very versatile. for just 300 € ...

OVERALL OPINION

I had this mic for over 5 years on stage, and I've never had any other micro able to make my stamp in this way in the APG ... what comfort! (But very soft pop AKOUSTIK)

For cons, the sensitivity to feedback from the microphone (the king of 5khz in my opinion), and above the ambient noise (a bass / batt donf behind the singer) mean that it's not easy to mix with it on a plate " where it sends the paté "... on the other hand, in song, and Jazz, it is nickel. It has a heat of restitution rather unique vocal timbre for my taste.

I now rock hard enough, so I changed creamery. The stamp is no longer there, but I have db donf back without it parte feedback ... What a choice ...

The Beta87 is a dedicated voice condenser microphone designed for the stage.
This is an electret microphone with a good anti-pop protection and a high level of output.
Like all static, it requires 48V phantom power.
For a static, it is quite insensitive to feedback.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought my first pair in 2009 and I immediately appreciated the clarity it gives voice. As the spoken voice on the song, I think that removes a veil its over conventional dynamics. I singers "just before the console" as if there was not an intermediary ... that's great.
No problems whistling or feedback.
It can make excellent times to close with a beautiful grain on wind instruments in particular.
In short, an excellent microphone.
Like all static it does not like moisture ... made to dry your mics if you have many "drooling" inside, I use desiccant capsules to keep them in good condition. One of my Beta87 gave significantly less sound than the other, on the advice of an old friend I put bags of desiccant in the pouch: the week after he had found the same gain as the others.
I currently have 6 in my case microphones, and they come primarily for voice!

The Shure Beta 87A has been one of my favorite microphones that I have purchased in the last year. It has a very smooth response and clear sound. It comes with a pouch to carry the microphone in, and when I bought it , it came with a microphone stand too. The Shure Beta 87 A is one of the microphones that you will need to hear your voice through it in order to tell if it is for you or not. I really liked the way it made my voice as well as our main vocalist voice sound rich and full. My tone is a little lower than normal, it really took the bottom end of my voice and made it sound rich without overdoing it and making it to thick and muddy. You can use the Shure Beta 87A in a live setting or in a recording environment and it will sound great either way. The microphone is so versatile and can be used with a guitar backing as well as your vocals. It is a very complete microphone that is at a very respectable price.


OVERALL OPINION

The shure Beta 87A has a three phase pop filter that will almost complete take away all of your breath and pop sounds. I have dealt with may Shure Microphones over the last 25 years and I have never had the satisfaction that I have had with the Beta 87 A. It has completely blown me away, its warm and smooth. The value of this microphone is great and the price is low. There is nothing to think about, you will love the way that this microphone will project your voice in both a live and recording session. I first heard this microphone used by some local young kids who make Christian music. After talking to them about what equipment they used I knew that I had to have my hands on this microphone.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for about 2 years, as well as opera singer in my band (Heavy / Sympho: www.whisperingtales.com)

before I had a Sennheiser EW135 HF ... absolutely not comparable.

I tested the Beta 58, but it does not match the record that I wanted to get too dry, even if he has more fishing.

If today I want to go a step above and take a KMS 105, Shure Beta 87 is still very much his Job. I do it again without hesitation choice with the budget I had at the time

Oh and I'm quite surprised when I read that the microphone is very sensitive to feedback ... with my band we play mostly in small room, and I've never had a problem with feedback.

This mic has a good value for what you will get while using it. We have used this mic so many times over the last few years its crazy. We truly love the mic and have since the first time we ever used it. It is a great mic for a guitar player, mainly acoustic only. This mic is very similar to the Shure Beta 87 C.


OVERALL OPINION

I love the way this mic sounds and how it will really make the lower frequencies sound great on a male voice. With its ability to round out the lower end of the male vocals and still keep the mids in order plus keep the higher frequencies bright crisp and sharp. You really wont find many other mics that can perform like this Sure Beta 87A can and still be affordable. Similar mics will cost upwards of 500 dollars if you want them to sound as good as this one and want that great quality. But the Shure Beta 87A wont cost you that much at all that’s why it is a must have mic for your live and acoustic recordings.

This mic is by far one of the best mics that I have ever used and for what it cost it’s a no brainer you have to get this mic if you are in need of a great acoustic guitar mic that’s for acoustic and for vocals. This mic can still pick up some of the vocals coming from the sides of the mic as well. It wont be as clean though, but for a live situation its good to have a mic that can pick up some of the vocals coming from different parts of the mic as you wont be looking straight ahead the whole time. I bought this mic at Guitar Center for $185. This is significantly less than they were selling it for ($250), but they were willing to match the price that I had found. Which was a really good deal... I decided on the Beta 87A after very extensive research - a lot of internet time sending e-mails, doing searches, reading up; a lot of phone time speaking to pro's, calling for prices, and comparing. And the Beta 87A seemed to stand above all the others. So I went to Guitar Center, tried it out, compared it, and was sold...

I like everything about this unit! The sound, in particular. This microphone is a condenser and in being such is supposedly more sensitive and fragile. But Shure dispels that theory with this mic. They have put a studio quality condenser microphone in a rugged, live performance package. Believe it or not, this "sensitive and fragile" microphone has survived the famed Shure Drop Test. This condenser mic is as rugged a mic as the old SM58's. It's crystal clear and so natural. My voice comes across so smoothly ans sounds so...real! Due to its supercardioid design and its significant gain before feedback, this mic has completely eliminated the age-old problem of feedback. It's just an amazing microphone and I love it!

Believe it or not, I have tried to be critical about this microphone, but am at a serious loss for complaints! I can't find any faults in this mic! It is just completely satisfactory and I could not be happier. I would definitely buy one of these (since I did...).

Rock-solid. Being a Shure, I expected that, but I was still surprised by the heft of this mic. Again, it's withstood the renowned Shure Drop Test and is as rugged as any other Shure product. I recently read in a forum about how a guy took his old SM58, ran it over with his truck, plugged it in, and sang. he said it worked same as before he ran it over. I would expect the same durability from the Beta 87A.

Quite honestly and in my opinion, this is the very best live performance microphone that money can buy. It's a condenser, it's studio quality, it's a Shure. What more could you want. I love it. It really brings the best out in my voice and I know that it would not disappoint you either. If you're looking for top-notch quality that will outlast you, this is the mic! Go for it!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a decade, I've tried a bunch (beyerdynamic, sennheiser, shure other models). This is the most accurate, clearest. It may be a little cooler than beyer, but I find the most pro. The only thing How annoying is that it requires a phantom power supply, so no use in the configs hyper roots (repeat on amp etc.). In real concert situation, it is the top, except maybe the static scene Neumann utlise by Ben Harper to be equivalent or slightly better (I have not tested).

Anyway, watch live, you will see many artists with a beta 58 with sound or a plutott a beta 87 when there is a greater requirement in the precision and quality in singing.

OVERALL OPINION

Casual user of Shure SM58 and AKG D5 in the past, gave me this microphone for a year and a half, a vocal presence and dynamics largely outperforming the other microphones. I did not try to say every time what gear I bavais, (when it was not mine), but in any case the best I have experienced in the area semi-pro. Each time the microphone is aligned to other traditionally used on stage, he stands out so clearly and provides response and loyalty that singers stick it fast! : O).
You just learn to adjust the distance between the capsule and mouth to get the best.
Those familiar with SM tend to eat the screen at the beginning, which is not necessary with this microphone.
Smokers or other voice heavy breathing will learn to open your mouth a little more inspiring, if not, it's a bit asthmatic. O)
Very little feedback problems, and the possibility of significant length of cable with XLR.
It is obviously necessary to ensure that your configuration can deliver a 48V phantom power supply (your combo amp / deck / mixer, etc. ...).
I have not had to test the robustness of the microphone, because he never morfler. In my presence, at least! O)
In the studio, it's perfect cabin (isolated), and much less expensive than micro "professional" for a comparable result to me. Unless you make the lyrics or the one you are looking for ultra pure before treatment. But for a pop sound, I find the perfect result!
In short: if you make the scene, driven rock, hard or not, pop, variety, this microphone is very flattering and allow you to treat more your style and your vocal chords by offering presence without forcing, and not too expensive! It will just learn to control your distance to deliver her a line if you move a lot! : O)

OVERALL OPINION

Cal's been two years that I sing with the microphone. Before this one I had a sm58.
Super Micro, the sound is both warm and yet still crystalline high notes stand out well. This reproduces the micro CHARACTERISTICS voice and do not change, such as the sm58 which adds bass. It is the trs long relaxation for the feedback, we can push it far enough.
He normment dynamic, no need to yell into it all again. Even in the whispered voice is great. The resemblance is truly striking micro studio. I prfre even his competitors from home neumann which is nevertheless twice as much.

A must try, you will not.
