I broke up with my ex-girlfriend of 12 years about 3 years ago, she refused to allow me to have a guitar in the house. A couple of months ago after I had to close down my factory for economic reasons, I bought this guitar and a Marshall MG15CFR.

The type of music I would play on the guitar would be some metal, hard rock and obviously clean sounds for pop music or plain rhythm guitar.

My older brother gave me an Ibanez Iceman model a long time ago, so I have an affinity for Ibanez models. I liked the feel, the weight of the guitar, the narrow neck, etc. The initial problems I was having on the guitar was if I was holding a C-chord (open), my ring finger might slightly touch the D string with my middle finger on the E position after getting over that learning curve (and yes I occasionally still have the problem of fingers muting string on open chords).

The clean sound I feel has no personality, the neck position front pickups kind of distorts if too loud, and the neck & middle pickup configuration will be slightly brighter but still kind of dull. The middle position is brightly dull if that makes sense, whereas the middle/bridge p/u configuration is the best of the bunch, and using the bridge pickup in clean mode also can distort a little but not as much as the neck p/u.

As for the crunch/distortion, I find the bridge to be the best or perhaps I've been indoctrinated into believing that's the best for distortion as I was growing up but I digress. I noticed the louder I have the amp the better the crunch is, especially the bridge pickup so I'm assuming it translates to other amps, also considering upgrading pickups to DiMarzios or Seymour Duncans...

Overall having not played the guitar for over 10 years and getting back into it, I'm happy with the purchase and highly recommend for beginners.

UTILIZATION

The maple neck is very comfortable and have all the key as not much to add except that it is a solid handle, reliable, and precise enough it is very trim for solo and therefore is for niquel a beginner as well as for a confirmation
the interface is not too bad is it balanced as it found comfort in a row but it is a bit heavy
Access to acute is very correct the cutaway is designed for AC so no problem on that side the limit
sound level is not appothéose but it is very versatile
the foil in saturated fat we find all the same taste if metal side of miss this always do feel

SOUNDS

personelement I think she agree to all styles as very versatile
it is perfect for a beginning that once get hands will know what he likes (blues rock metal ...)

I use it for nearly two years until the day my heart or address pitite a les paul as I walked into a music store I ais taken the same day (nostalgia), but all this time this guitar have rendered great service to me I did my first gig with and I do not regret my purchase

I've been Playing Guitar for 11 years, I have 1 Acoustic that I learn't to play, and now I'm on my 3rd electric which is the Ibanez.
I've had a Tanglewood Strat. (Cherry Red with White Pick Guard) and a B.C. Rich Bronze Warlock. I'm looking to get another Warlock in the future.

I'm into the Metal Generations, Heavy/Death/Power/Black etc.

I Jam at my mates house he plays Drums and has a Custom Drum Kit, so there is a possibility of a future Metal Band in the pipeline.

I wanted another Electric Guitar that was within my price range, and I looked at one of the lowest priced Ibanez Range, which was the Gio Series.

The Guitar was around £179 which was a good price especially for one of the biggest guitar brands.

I like the fast Playibility with the wizard neck, the Shark teeth inlays, the White Binding round the Neck and it's Bridge, Centre and Neck Pickups have a good Powerful and Clean Tone.














The 'Fat Bridge' (Trem Bridge) is sometimes a pain because when I tune from low to high, I have to repeat the tuning over again because the Strings are being pulled back with the Bridge tension and they de-tune straight away.

Construction is good, the weight factor isn't to bad, though sometimes after playing standing up after while it can become heavy.

The Neck is quick and has a good playibility to it. The Paint finish is to a good quality (I have the Jewel Blue Model).

I also like the way the fingerboard is finished, the Shark teeth inlays instead of the default Dot inlays, the Shark teeth give it a better look.

Great Guitar for the price and for an Ibanez, it's better than the other two Electric's I had.

It's definitly for the Pro and Beginner.

For the type of Music I play it would've been better with a Fixed Bridge, but I still like it and it was money well spent.

I bought this guitar from a local store "Dennis Todd's" at the price of £150, (Amazing!).

I love the neck of this guitar! It is perfect Very thin, and fast. Extremely comfortable and smooth. Also, the look of the guitar isn't too bad either. Construction is very solid and expensive feeling, especially considering the low price.

Perfect construction. Very solid and expensive feeling. Ibanez treat these lower end models exacly the same as the more expensive ones. No faults or flaws in the paintwork, and all set up perfectly.

Great guitar for the price; I haven't found one so comfortable in this price range. The sound is pretty amazing too considering the low price. Definately a good guitar for anyone on a budget.

OVERALL OPINION

I just have this is my second electric guitar, I do not count changed, but in the future I will change the pickups I do not redeem guitar.
I bought 125 euro used, a very nice guy who arette the power for electro-acoustic, with the temp I refer this choice because it suits me.
Before I try a Storm, ba difference is that ibanez is for me a most prestigious Storm.

The Ibanez GIO GRG170DX maple neck has a fine and pleasant, perfect for beginners Shred.
Basswood body full HSH configuration (humbucker single humbucker):
-Ibanez humbucker neck pickup PSND1, I don 'serves little but it has high output and a very nice clean sound in middle position with the bridge pickup;
Micro-NSDP Ibanez single coil center, perfect for clean sounds but do not s waiting to foil a pickup of strata, although it is a good compromise;
-Bridge pickup Ibanez PSND2, built for distortion, high output, tolerates the overdrive as well as big distos metal.
Bridge Ibanez Fat 10, can be up and the lower or only the lower depending on the setting, but beware désacordage although it is still very enjoyable.
24 frets, which I find very convenient for the shred.
A very responsive tone knob, great for refining the sound, volume, and traditional 5-way switch.

UTILIZATION

The handle is nice and fast for a guitar this price, the solos go alone and rhythm are holding up well. The ergonomics are quite good with easy access and a sharp cut in the cash for the arm. It is still pretty heavy for a Super-Strat I think, but this is not a fatal flaw. Easily obtained good clean sound as well that in distortion, the crunch of deep distos.

SOUNDS

This guitar should pretty well to my style of music (metal, thrash, melodic) thanks to a microphone level output that does not move my face MetalZone Boss. But the key word of this guitar is the versatility it is suitable metal, rock, hard rock, pop rock, a little funk that this is not his strong point, and I m can not express the blues jazz because I don 't play it. I love the grain of the micro bridge with heavy distos and that of micro center with overdrive. I find the sounds of the intermediate position + neck pickup micro center in its clean just great and very beautiful. I like the sound of the less pickup in its clean.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year and I must say that that is a superb value for money. This guitar is perfect for beginners and provides an easy and enjoyable approach of shred. She is now starting to not suit me too because of my experience and increasing e would look today a true type guitar metal and / or shred but tuojours in Ibanez. Very good and very versatile guitar but ls for beginners anyway.

- Vibrato allows all fantasies, as well as pushed shot. Moreover, despite the extreme use, the guitar keeps its tuning well trs.

This guitar is a monster of styles from Heavy Rock to modern. Probably more guides for Lead Guitarits, it also fascinate games full of rhythmic groove.

It's a fairly versatile scraper (Hard, funk, blues ...), but tends qd metal itself.

It is very enjoyable round for the entry! flat profiles, comfortable, easy ACCET acute thanks to its extension of the flat head junction to the corp.

I have been using 2semaines! very good (personal opinion), the saturated its EXCELLENT sound even if it lacks a bit of gravity! its clean and does not and is equilibrated grsille nice play! versatile in contrerement Squier that I find really very slight distortion and saturation level? and finishes better than the same range of Cort!

UTILIZATION

I would say the sound is perhaps the least convincing aspect of the guitar, but nevertheless remains correct.

G had other guitars other brands (Jackson, Schecter), and each time t G a little ... This Ibanez is the only skyscraper totally convinced me that ... and I care.
No problem I would do the same choice. Ibanez has emerged in the MODEL RG 2550 Prestige with microphones Di Marzio / Ibanez I think ... a must.

I play mostly metal (death, thrash, grind) and some neo and c pa too bad even though the pickups lack of power, they should change. But at the same time it is a very versatile scraper. I use an ibanez amp TB15R.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it since April 2004 and I like it, I pa lot of money so I took it and I have no regrets before I fesai of acoustics, electric and c my Premire it is mortal, even if I intend to buy another guitar soon trs.

Good for beginners to scratch made of metal, the saturation is good despite some grsillement and clean sound is not used because it has no personality it sounds hollow, I played on a Marshall DFX 15, and the alliance of the guitar with this amp provides both a fat (1st selection) That a sound "AGESSA" in 5th!
I desteste positions 2, 3 and 4 that do a lot of grsillements.

Good for beginners, you will quickly change to a more scratches!
I use it since August 2004 and I change, c to say! for the price, its still a good guitar that is starting to connatre for it new in 2004!
