I got a great deal on this baby at the Mars Music going out of business sale. Yeah, I miss Mars, but hey I only paid $550 for this $1000 guitar. I was looking to buy myself a Christmas present, and this looked like the perfect guitar for me.

This guitar has it all, EMG 81 active pickups, neck-thru body design, an ORIGINAL Floyd Rose tremelo, (not one of those imitations) and abalone inlays along the neck. This guitar's distorted sound is the best I've ever heard. The color and the quality is just perfect for anything, especially if you're playing metal. Some people take out the neck EMG 81 and replace it with an 85, but I like it just like this. It also has jumbo frets, which I personally like but others may not.

The clean sound on this guitar isn't as well as some people might like. The EMG 81s gice it a sort of processed sound, but is still really good. It's sustain isn't as good as it could be because of the Floyd Rose, but the neck-thru design somewhat makes up for that.

Yes, this is still and ESP LTD, and is still Korean made. However, I think it seems to be just as good quality as any American or Japanese guitar. The action was perfect for me when I received it. The finish is plain black, but it's the best black you'd ever see. I use it every once in a while for a mirror when I need one.

This guitar is a great guitar, especially for my style. It has the best pickups you can buy, the best bridge you can buy, and for me the best neck you can buy. However, if your style doesn't use distorted sounds a lot, or if you never use a tremelo on your guitar, this guitar isn't for you. You should only buy this guitar if you're going to use the Floyd Rose. Otherwise, it's just a hassle, and you might want to try looking at an ESP H-1000 or an EC-1000.

UTILIZATION

Since I started the guitar, so about 6 years since I had so many guitars ... the cause of these changes rptition: the handle.
I have small hands with small fingers. I had an Ibanez RG prestige and normal stratum, an Epiphone ... my style of music is blues, prog metal .... the M1000 is the guitar I wanted.
The handle is off course, but it is unlike lgrement round behind Ibanez o the handle is completely flat which can tire the poignant after a moment, the hand fits directly on it. This handle is trs comfortable for little hands as big. In addition, Access in acute qu'ais grace is an almost non-existent heel.
In terms of ergonomics, fans of the form will not stratocaster dsorients because body shape is that of the stratum. Except the head reverse typical ESP with abalone inlays also. For my part, I use this guitar with a Mesa Dual Rectifier .... really the blues metl further ... to spend more than well.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for about a year ... which is rare with me ... usually I start getting bored, but not l. ... I'm not deu and I would do if the choice j ''d do it again.
This guitar is trs class appearance with Flamed Maple top, this black patent and clear all the abalone inlays ... it's the luxury as the name implies ..... M1000 deluxe.
For that price you even better with a standart MODL American .... to finish and even the entire guitar. This is a report qualitprix absolutely fabulous ...

There is no doubt, we are in the high end LTD by ESP, it is well worth the EC-1000 and company despite what you read on different forum.
Made in Korea, this guitar has two EMG 81. In the neck position is a little cold but with a good multi effects pedal such as GFX8, one can arrive at sound and jazzy blues. In the bridge position gives access to modern and ultra sounds very typical style deChimaira, Machine Head, In Flames, etc ... In other words, artificial harmonics are legion.
The maple neck conducting liner combined with a Floyd Rose (original please) provides excellent sustain.
The guitar has two knobs (volume and tone) and a 3 position switch (neck pickup, bridge, or both).

UTILIZATION

The neck is fairly wide and will suit large hands but not discouraged small (a few hours to get used). However it is a real highway, the slides are closed eyes and the pleasure of play is greatly improved.
It is worth noting that access to the treble is particularly easy as on most of ESP and LTD.
Unfortunately the fact that the guitar is fully maple (body + table + handle) makes weight are very important and promising sore shoulder after a few hours of play standing (concerts and repeated '), get your subscription to the gym ! Strato basic form to get high with a nice arm which does not MH400 nt for example.
Even with a crappy amp (well, not too much) we arrive at an excellent sound quality. It really feels the power of both the power chord EMG81 and for solos.
I put 9 / 10 just because of the weight of the beast.

For my part I play on a line6 spider II 212 home and a Peavey 5150 and repeating in concert '(provided by the Brise Glace, Association of amplified music Annecy). This config gives a precise and powerful. All combined with a Zoom effects pedal GFX8 and you have a real killer.

OVERALL OPINION

I have this guitar for about 1 month and it never let me down. My frequency of play is about one hour and a half days (and yes there are studies too) and I discover every day more about the scratches. What I like about this guitar is of course his sound and vibrato. Before this guitar I was not too fan of vibrato but since the purchase of the M-1000 I think I could not part with it. Without too much abuse, I must admit that a little bit of vibrato solo that sounds really good.
I tried the MH 400 nt, which also sounds great by the way, but having sufficient financial contribution I have been tempted by the M-1000 in part due to its pink floyd and aesthetics.
The price of this guitar is relatively high (€ 1190 in Annecy Music) but visually and technically, it is truly a cut above other guitars made for such use.
You have understood the choice I would definitely do it again.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it in rgulirement Repeat '(that one of my guitar ... hih for 6 months on a Marshall MG half-stack 100 HDFX ... I love her very heavy and the handle "highway". recement I try a standard ESP viper and frankly I find the best ... of carément M1000 + report qualitprix balèze really ... if tomorrow I were to buy a guitar orientem tal that will be the one!

UTILIZATION

I only like strat forms. Metal that is access to the configuration that gives ESP LTD, but the look is less trash than ESP LTD KH 602 among others.
Channel pleasant, the string sets of origins is 9 / 46 and I must say it is a little soft for my knee, I recommend at least 10/46 to your preference. Personally I play 11/49.
I did not find it so heavy and is well balanced.

SOUNDS

My style of music is punk rock hard core-mash, I play a lot of metal and some blues. This guitar suits me perfectly. For better versatility of the excavator may be I will install an EMG 89 in bridge splitable.
I play on such important Line6 Spider II 30 watts and nothing that comparing with my other LTD Start (Squier mounted EMG), there is a gap. Ducoup I regret having installed on my squier EMG (Duncan or Dimarzio take a better role that EMG active on the low end). By repeating I am on Marshall Valvestate 80w and I must say that the side distortion is much better with greater precision obviously. In two months I will have max my ENGL Thunder 50 watts and I think it's going to be day and night. I was editing my opinion.

Edit January 2007:
Ashdown on course Framus 60w lamp + 2 * 12, it has nothing to do with Line6. The Cleans are beautiful and the distortions are clear.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for three months, I tried all models of ESP LTD M-Series and I was not able to resist the 1000 as the difference in quality is great with his sisters.
I paid € 1300 in my local store, more than € 100 on the Internet.

The quality is good trs and you really get to see the origins dtail Coren. Rglages the factory are a bit hit and miss, but any scratches a fawn, a RULES is in his own preferences. This is by far the easiest playing guitar I've tried.

The neck-through configuration, alder body and neck and pickups EMG81 works perfectly. Silence is the best! The abalone inlays are much more beautiful than the grim dcalcos PSE standard, even if it crit question got LTD ....

Edit September 2010: the aging of the guitar violin trs well. Holding agreement is excellent and does not move. Laccastillage buttons origin is blocking, I replaced them with buttons Jackson Japan (20 years). I replaced the volume knob because it put s'tait spit. Warning for new MODELS, the price has dropped these last years but it seems that the quality is also declining. For example, my 2006 has an original floyd manufactured in Germany by Schaller as new Chinese have floyd, apparently slightly worse.

So let's talk about the handle! it is quite fantastic! That a somewhat thin ibanez wizard and curls perfectly in the hand.

The ltd m-1000 is the perfect guitar for metal shredeur! I use a Hughes and Kettner warp7 head and a Marshall 4 * 12 cabinet! jla branch on my little digitech RP80 and a wha wha xeeping ibanez demon (which is great of aillor ptite pub)
I go after 5 years of scratching a squier strato a monster so I'm thrilled!
My settings are simple GAIN BACK!! I use the non-simulator mesa correct on my amp and digitech send serious!
I think the neck pickup lacks a bit of how to say ... .. it means for the blues, but the bridge provides! it is no coincidence that Kirk uses this config '!

Now I have a g9 zoom and the sound is that much better!

The guitar is perfectly balance (in the gnral with this form was no problem to handle that stings the nose) but beware of the weight! It PSE her little weight can be tiring and long. Thanks to EMG, this guitar rpond perfectly chosen level of saturation. Unlike some passive pickups, if you want to play the blues and then spend very sharp metal is quite possible. A little delay and / or a chorus and EMG 81 fits what you play. It's really a good trs. In the light (on neck pickup) sound a bit serious and a bit strong, is not suitable for playing jazz, but rglant the amp, adding treble, reducing the gain, we can find a good clean sound that Global Warming with a small chorus. For a guitar made in Korea, I am more than satisfied, I did not expect such and such a finish. For a long search for the strat THE mtal, I finally found. I redo this purchase without hsiter!

The M1000 is one of the flagship models of the LTD line. It's a high quality guitar that the LTD facilities build and rivals the ESP Standard series in terms of quality and tone. The guitar features an alder body with a flamed maple top, a set-thru maple neck with a rosewood fretboard and 24 extra jumbo frets, EMG pickups, binding, an original floyd rose, one volume, one tone and a three way switch.

UTILIZATION

These guitars are great, and I'm a big fan of the 1000 series for those looking for a great guitar on a budget. The quality of the flame is usually pretty good, and the fit + finish is pretty nice. There's an issue with some of the binding sometimes in that you can easily see where it starts/ends, but that's purely cosmetic. There's also an issue with it being pretty gaudy, but that's purely a taste issue. The guitar comes with an original floyd rose which is a HUGE plus. The fretwork is generally pretty good, and the ends tend to be finished decently. It's not quite as nice or consistent as the Standard series, but that's to be expected.

SOUNDS

These guitars generally sound pretty nice and resonant. It comes equipped with EMG 81s in both the bridge and neck position. The 81 in the bridge is tight and super cutting. You can get ridiculous harmonics with the thing, and it's one of the best recording pickups out there for metal. I'm not a huge fan of the 81 in the neck, but if you're into brighter, cutting lead tones, it should do the trick nicely. I generally prefer the 85 in the neck, but that's not an issue thanks to the quick disconnects.

OVERALL OPINION

These guitars are great if you're looking for a guitar packed full of features and at a cheaper price than the ESP Standard series. It's even better when you start looking at the used prices as they generally are around $500ish to $600ish. Considering this has an original floyd rose, real EMG pickups and quality woods, it's definitely worth looking into.

UTILIZATION

A handle super nice but super fine, the finest of all my guitars! Even so thin that ultimately not that easy to play!

The strings are fairly close to each other and suddenly (probably due to lack usual) fingers are planted rope!

The frets are medium in size and are well adjusted.

Access to acute poses no problem with the configuration set-Thru.

The Floyd ... The Best! ! !

Ergonomics for easy handling! Light, perfectly balanced, you do not feel it! !

I know the EMG 81 in Bridge, a BC Rich Warlock NJ Deluxe, which I find not too bad (finally) but he would prefer a 85 in neck warm wishes! Well, the EMG 81 in neck Crame that the fire of God! Not as warm and round 85 but the temperature's right, it's brilliant, brilliant! Really made for metal, it's great!

After waiting for an opportunity with a Red M300, M400 Black hesitated for a price in hand and the M1000, which always seemed too expensive, I finally falls by chance on the M1000 at a price of loufer! Less expensive than the cheapest models in hand and cheaper than the M300 New! Incredible! Neither one nor two, I command presto (and too bad for the wallet, such a price is dark!).

And then I tell myself that maybe it is not new or there is bug somewhere! Two days later, I called the store that reassures me about the model but they had a problem with the price (an error). Nevertheless they assume, the order had been made, they still send me (although sold at a loss)! Crazy! A week later I receive, nickel!

UTILIZATION

This guitar is truly magical. It is perfectly balanced, I can FINALLY play standing up without any worries, even with a crappy strap. The handle is unique, it is very clever, access to treble is really simple thanks to the driver handle. Once in hand we forget all the other races because it is really the one who is perfect (at least for me), I can really touch my horror most of which was a scratch Jim Harley, and after this 10 seconds.
The comfort is excellent in fact, it flies when you're playing and chords / Barrett and company really really become easier, we play totally better! I'm really going to keep this long scratch.

I have this guitar for less than one day, I got it last night and I spent my time playing. The sound is really the one I'm looking at this guitar attack patient through his woods and EMG. I play lots of metal, and the sound is really suited to it! Solo sound is very good too, I can play with santana without delay problem is a treat!
The clean sound is also very good contrary to what one might say. I do not think it's the highlight of this guitar, it's also not really what I want, but it is still excellent!
I play with a zoom g9 (good pedal that gives me my sounds and effects) and with a line6 spiderjam, and well I sound sick, with small lights and the sound of this guitar, it seems I have a big amp lamp behind the attack is so powerful and accurate. When I have a all-tube amp, the pedals obviously not serve me as a multi purpose and will only be hugely better.

I tried it and watched a lot of models before and after the M-1000 and for 1000 € ben there's no picture is THE guitar. The weight is not so hard finally getting used to quickly unlike other reviews I read. To me there is no downside to this guitar, the haunting beauty is the sound even more comfort too, EVERYTHING. I would do this choice 1000 times <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_lol.gif" alt="" /> without any hesitation.
In short, I REALLY recommend.
