Sweet combo

Blackstar Amplification HT-1Published on 07/26/11 at 13:41
Blackstar has made a huge splash on the amp world in recent years. They have made great sounding fantastically priced amps for the masses. The price is what is so amazing to me. The amp sounds so very good and to keep their prices for a multi channle combo like this under $1000 is remarkable.

This amp is so versatile that is makes me wonder how they keep their prices so low. I have a theory but either way the most important thing is how does it sound. The sound and voicing of this amp is remarkable. It has a great fluid disortion tone and cleans up very nicely. It is fit for just about any guitar player. The tone from the cleans all the way through the crunch and up to the high gain...…

The tone from the cleans all the way through the crunch and up to the high gain sounds very usable for gigging and recording.

UTILIZATION

Features:

Innovative 1 Watt valve combo
1xECC83 and 1xECC82
Unique push-pull power amp design
Based on award winning HT-5
Two channels
8˝ speaker
Patent-Applied-For Infinite Shape Feature (ISF)
Perfect for studio or practice
Speaker emulated output
Stereo MP3 / Line input
External speaker output

SOUNDS

The clean channel is very Fender like in that it sparkles and chimes much like an old blackface Fender would do. It has nice chimey tone when coupled with a good Fender Stratocaster or another single coil guitar. The tone is warm but very rich delivering the tone from your guitar. The reverb on the amp is another great feature as well. The amp has a full warm reverb that doesn't sound fake or digitalized in any way. The dirty channel is a stellar overdrive very reminiscent of classic rock tones from the 70's and early 80's. The dirty channel gives you a sweet tone that will get people's attention very quickly. So many times reverb is a hit or miss on amps and this one is a fantastic tone It doesn't hide anything either....it gives out exactly what is put into it.

OVERALL OPINION

At new these amps come in at around $260 which is an excellent price for a small tube amp combo with multiple channels. It is an all tube design that gives a great clean tone and a heavy distortion channel with a side of reverb. I highly recommend this amp for anyone on a budget who needs a great working tube amp. If you are looking for a solid practice and that is fully ready for recording then this maybe the amp for you.

This is the amp that you wish your mom would have got you when you first started playing the guitar. This little combo amp is one tone monster. Coming in at only one watt this thing produces some thick and juicy distortion tone. With two channels and a voicing British rock this amp has more tone than you can think of for little lunch box amp.

Excellent

(This content has been automatically translated from French)
1W tube amp that has great sound for its size
Jack on standard (guitar input, footswitch output, headphone / exit)
Level effect is rather limited with a crunch obtained by pushing a switch and the gain for the distortion. The top is the TFR is a sort of equalizer that allows you to go from a typed American sound more British.
And the ISF is functional both in clean, crunch in that distortion so it allows a small palette of sound interesting.
Not to mention a knob for the reverb.

UTILIZATION

The configuration is effectively no say over
No need to manual so it is intuitive to find their sound

SOUNDS

I play mostly rock and the amp filled his role perfectly for my style of music, for the clean one can turn over to the fender tube.
The gain in fourth with the volume turned up more reverb at 3/4 gives a very sound hovering.
The gain at 3/4 to half the volume we have the right to a nice crunch not bad at all.
And switch the distortion down there we flew to a typical sound of marshalls but much cleaner than on the type MG amp transistors.
I play with a Fender [classic Player Series] Baja Telecaster - Blonde and I hearts total.
Plugged into a Line 6 POD I have both the range of effects and sound quality.
Best to play with headphones for the sound beautifully.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 4 months.
I tried the same price range 5W to the fender lamps.
I regret a bit of a knob for more effects but that it would be choosy.
The value for money is unbeatable.
Yes definitely, it's a purchase to make your eyes closed
