Fender Blues Junior III

This may be one of the most heavily used amp that has ever been created. The Fender Blues amp is such a great little amp and the price point for the tube amp is fantastic. Many players have bought into this little amp because of the aggressive price and the just the way that it sounds.

It has a dark tone compare to a plexi or a Marshall 800 that really compliments the character of a Fender Stratocaster . Since the Strat seems to be on the thinner side of guitars the darker tone gives it a more robust tone that accept pedals really well and sustains easily.

SOUNDS

They have updated the gain sounds from the previous models. The Blues ll has actually a usable gain to which the previous was about as useless as the day old coffee. Now you don't need a distortion pedal if you don't want because the distortion from the amp is very tonally responsive and pleasant to the ears.

I like this amp with either a Superstrat or a Charvel. They uses the lighter bodied woods such as ash, maple, and alder which blends well with the complexities of this amp. Since this amp tends to be a darker amp the lighter woods compliment each other quite well.

OVERALL OPINION

For the price of some distortion pedals and effects pedals you could own this amp. At new these units come in at around $500. Not a bad price for a nice little combo tube amplifier.

I recommend this amp to anyone who needs a good practice amp or a solid bedroom amp. At 15 watts it might not get you to overpower a band so you would need to up it to the Hot Rod series if you need ore power but similar voicings.

I buy this amp on a whim, I tried a simple amp without modeling, this is the case, I often say "I buy an amp not store" so simple good amp for blues / rock, Pop / rock / reggae. But not for the hard rock or jazz

OVERALL OPINION

I use the amp a few months, but with no experience I'm pretty lamps transistors, I quickly tired of waiting for heat lamps.
I think tube amps to play well on a more or less long (3/4heures)
because it takes the heat up lamps, amps transistors has one advantage, if you're playing lights after 5minute you ought to do something else you off and basta,
with the lights you have to wait again at least 5 minutes before turning off the amp
therefore 5 5 I sold cheap amp Blues Junior III (buy € 500 € 200 sold).
I can buy after an amp that suited me Henriksen Amplifiers JazzAmp 110-ER
So before buying the Fender Blues Junior III really think the sound you want to have and especially for what music

No effects loop, but the amp takes effects very front.

For the price, I'm in Quebec, so I paid $ 550 with footswitch. I'll let you do the conversion.

UTILIZATION

There is a manual, but it is useless, is the opposite of Mesa with tons of options and switch. You branches, you play it sounds. And what a sound!
Single channel amp requires, we are here in my very subtle: Game finger, pick, play with the knobs volume and tone of the guitar. The amp responds very well and all these changes and sounds become quite varied.

SOUNDS

This amp goes up to a somewhat probing crunch through fat and boost with a Master Volume and high, but in this case station ears. The beast is powerful ample for jamming and concerts in bars and small scenes. After it is transplanted anyway.

When you pedal, I am currently using a classic cry baby, a booster Electro Harmonix, a tuner and BBE maximize boss. SAR that side. I tried also distos and modulations, it goes nickel.

OVERALL OPINION

Before that, I had two heads Orange, too powerful to be really usable even on stage. 15 watts is ample and the amp responds beautifully to the subtleties of guitar playing.
I remake that choice without hesitation.
