Sunn Model T Re-issue

Sunn Model T, 100 watt power - make a 25-watt per knob at the back.
Front very simple:
- Taking in
- Channel 1: Volume, treble, bass and midlle.
- Channel 2: Gain, treble, bass, volume and midlle
- Presence.
Rear luxury:
- By choosing a power knob, Arena (100Watts) or Club (25WATT).
- Effects loop with 4 knob to adjust the volume of the effect - the two channels are separated. For example you can set a big delay on your multi-effect plug-loop and then insert it discreetly on your cannal clear and honest on the lead to ensure a huge dynamic to your chorus (the principle is great!)
- Output and input to connect your model to a second amp. You put your guitar in the first, which transmits the signal to the next.
- HP Output, plus an XLR output-oriented or table registration module. (If you use this option, you should never disconnect your HP!)

For the record: Sunn was founded in the 60s. The brand, then a phase of experimentation, however, with many groups. In 1967, Buck Munger Sunn representative proposed a 5-year contract to Jimi Hendrix. Jimi has contributed to the research and development. In particular, he proposed to use technicians Sunn speakers equipped with 4 12''eminence and especially to grow up to 100 Watts power amplifier (Jimi loved to do everything thoroughly !!!).
At the Woodstock concert in 1969, Sunn had provided the board some of the material.
If the brand has had some issues regarding this in the 70's, it was bought by Fender in 1987. Thus began a new career for Sunn amps. The Model T, set in the 90's with all the know-how and compétances Fender, is assembled in factories in Corona Fender (USA), no relocation for this product very high end!
For Fender, the Model T embodies the look and purity of sound amplifiers 60 and 70 years. Please note: we are far from trial and error at the time, the machine is perfectly reliable circuits and components are quite modern.

Of course, it's all lamps: 4 6L6 Gc for power, 6 12AX7 for the preamp!

UTILIZATION

Probably one of the best amp in the world. This is the first class: the clear sound slightly crunchy on the ends, fully expressive, that you love the sound of the guitars of James Brown, Funkadelic?
Blues sound terrible if you have a serious type micro Telecaster or Les Paul, it's absolutely sensational. Smooth, accurate to the devil, hot ...
Micro acute and you're immersed in a roots reggae of the most!
Best when you press the pedal red, I mean the channel full.
Gain 2-3 and it tumbled to a deep purple type riffs, AC DC or Led Zep! If you pouussez gain, attention: you create your studio deans, local garage or a totally hendrixien: the fuzz, feedback is perfectly controlled a huge grain.

OVERALL OPINION

I do not know why this amp conprends, released with great fanfare in 1999 it sold so little. Perhaps the high price (around 2200 euros Head + Cabinet)? In any case it is perfectly justified given the beauty and sound quality of the toy!
For my part, I tried it once at the Paris Salon in 1999, but I've never met later in a store in France. I quietly deposited in the Sunn Model T uncoin of my dreams until January 2006 (7 years later), where I saw it set in the midst of a host of other famous brands in one shop abroad: The SHOCK! I was very soft at the time of light! In addition to the store was in total stocking, and I'd rather not give you the price - negotiable with large margins in this store - purchase, you get haluciner!

The sunn model T is pure lights on top for any guitarist who privileged above all the expression.

UTILIZATION

This amp is an incredible ease of use. Better than a jcm 800 because there are two channels. The number of knob is ideal, this will head to the point! It is lighter and the sound is at once ... no brainer with infinite settings. No need for manual. The effects loop is not easy to adjust but once you understand the principle, FLOW alone.

SOUNDS

So the look out! I did not know this brand 2 weeks ago. I had the opportunity to try one in a music store and I came across your ass down! To compare, I tried a jcm 800 original, a jcm 2000 and the new Marshall Vintage Modern series, all on a baffle 1960. Well, to my surprise, even the jcm 800 did not make the weight!
The overdrive sound is transcendental! Fat (more than a marshall!), Deep, clean, sharp (the small side fender). He does not attack the ear and even at low volume, the sound is impeccable. There is in the quality of all brands combined.
The clear sound is perfect. Slamming, net, round! No complaints.
I play on a Gibson Flying V and it is happiness. I also tried it a Gibson SG, a Stratocaster and a Telecaster U.S. American. This amp reveals the personality of each guitar. Microphones simple slam but gentle on it; dynamics humbuckers is maximized. In short, we can recognize each guitar ear alone.
It's the sound of the 70 par excellence. And has the advantage of being even deeper and bigger still!
Finally, power to spare in this head is amazing! But the advantage is that there is no need to push hard for the sound.

OVERALL OPINION

I have this amp for several days. I have already tried. Honestly, I'm looking for his absence. I think this is a rare amp heads to assert its original price (2000 euros). As my friend from the previous post, I got an unbeatable price so I am even more pleased and of course I do it again this choice.
This head is a monster!

Amp sunn model T Ri entirely lamp 4x and 6x 12 AX7 6L6GC, 120 W RMS possibility of the switcher is 29W (although this does not necessarily get along .....)

An effects loop with volume control per channel.

Controls a general presence.

1 Clean Channel: Volume, bass, mid, high.
Channel 2 Overdrive: Volume, bass, mid, acute gain.

8 as a bit too powerful for my taste.

UTILIZATION

Manuel could not be more simple, and the settings (very subtle at first). As already said it is plug and play. Once you start to have the sunn model T in hand can be refined.

SOUNDS

The sound of this head are fine for me. In the clean sound is dark and as soon as the volume goes up it gets terrible crunch.

Distortion in the gain to 3 is already bad, the higher up the gain and the sound becomes more bold with a touch fuzzy. I play telecaster and SG, the head is plugged into an Orange PPC412. I can assure you it is grumpf.

OVERALL OPINION

I have this head for 8 months. After a short adjustment period (I've always been ultra-modern head) I'm a fan of this desire to Sunn Model T. Simple and effective. The only complaint I have from this header is power. To remedy this problem I am offered a powerbrake and everything was in order.
