Vox AC4TVH

The Vox AC4tvh is one GREAT little amp! I am absolutely blown away at how great it sounds straight out of the box. I'm using it with an American Deluxe Telecaster, and an open back cab with a single 12 in it. 4 watts is much louder then I thought it would be. Love the OP Level switch. Turn it down to 1 or 1/4 watt and you can get some great tone at home with out freaking out the neighbors. I plan to upgrade the tubes at some point, but all in all this a must buy for home studio owners or someone that wants great tone at a reasonable volume.


UTILIZATION

I have been recording at home on the 1 watt and 1/4 power levels and the sound im getting is something like a 5000 dollar stage rig. After warming it up for about 5 minutes, Im getting tone from this little AC4 and a squire "60's vibe" Stratocaster, (at low conversation volume) that is about equivalent to a 40 watt blackface fender after running hot half the night. unbelievable.


SOUNDS

I wanted to be able to get some decent tone and sustain at lower volume levels, so I thought I would try this little VOX tube amp out. One thing that surprised me is the amount of volume that this little tube amp is capable producing. When you crank this amp up on 4 watts it can still easily aggravate your neighbors. I was even surprised at how loud it can get on just 1 watt of power .


OVERALL OPINION

I think this amp is definitely worth the money you pay for it because you can get some great sounds out of it with out blowing your ear drums out or having the neighbors calling the police on you. Try this out, you wont be disappointed.

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use, you plug and play. The fact that there are three modes (1/4 Watts, 1 watt and 4 Watts) is nice except that even 1/4 watt way home it's still too loud (yes) and 4 watt is unfortunately too just play rock.

SOUNDS

I tried it on two 4x12 cabinets: a Marshall 9690 anniversary and a Marshall 1960.
The clean sound is unusable with a drummer (except jazz can be) regardless of the baffle.
A low volume, clear sound very "hard" and unpleasant, you feel not at all the lights.
On the 9690 cabinet, with the volume and putting everything thoroughly we have a very slight crunch and hyper slamming without bass and unpleasant.
On the 1960, everything thoroughly, the crunch is really super nice and much less slamming. Only everything must be thoroughly and at home it is not possible and group volume is insufficient.

OVERALL OPINION

Go your way if you play rock.
Go your way if you want a clear sound.
Go your way if you want to play at home.
If you're not one of these three categories, go ahead.

All-tube amp switchable 1W 4W and 0.1 W. This is a 4W amp that has balls! It covers a wide and low battery so easily repeated use and even concert.
This is a single channel amp with speaker output 16ohms.

UTILIZATION

The config is super simple it's plug n play. You plug it up the volume knob and no longer affects only that guitar knobs to get the sound you want.

SOUNDS

In terms of sound you can get a clear sound that crunch sound slightly over drive that sends the block. You just play with the knobs on the guitar. I have not tested with pedals but the new owner he assured me with his pedal it sounded great. Amp blues / rock that can probably move towards hard rock with a good pedal.
I used a Gibson with a baffle and FlyingV Brunetti XL mini cab.
I sold not because the sound does not like me but because it did not suit me and I had a lack of a clean channel. I wanted a rounder amp in the crunch.

OVERALL OPINION

Excellent quality / price ratio. With the experience I do not have that choice because ultimately the sound does not suit me even if it is a great amp.

All lamp 4W, but it takes an HP 12 ".... it Degomme ... nothing to do with a small fender 5W
some settings, but fortunately the power switch (1/4W, 1W or 4W) allows to work more or less the lamps!

UTILIZATION

easy to use, for example Crunch depends on the volume, so to a certain volume, it is difficult to have clear sound!
I used it in a group with low battery and two other guitars, he held the road well in 4W, but now we can not really play clean sounds.

SOUNDS

I liked its sound but I did not keep because I think it "crushes" just the sound of the guitar (lag the beast, fender strat us, Taylor t) ... a beautiful sound in the key, but when you have good scratch is rather regret the lack of loyalty!

OVERALL OPINION

I used about an ... I liked its sound, but they are really typées.Même in 1/4 W it is already powerful enough to use at home (too much for the neighbors?) At this price (200 € with the baffle occas) I n ' 've never tried anything as well, however, it really has the feel of the game on a tube amp!
