I use it regularly for in situ recordings of concerts and chamber music and organ.
I'm using Neumann U67 microphones or tube equipped with Telefunken EF 806 or Neumann KM 83, is finally B & K (DPA) 4006

UTILIZATION

The manual in English is short, but it comes out easily with a little gumption.
The versatility of the controls is a plus, such as adjusting the input impedance of the microphones and the "High voltage" which recalls the "valve drive" the Studer D19 Valve (if you find one used, despite its 22 bit and limited to 48kHz., let me know !!!).
The recording and editing are done on ProTools M-Powered 8, CD burning on Wave Burner Pro.

SOUND QUALITY

I must say that the result is high quality, after replacing the tubes of Chinese origin (I expect 83 Sylvania ECC ...), I use old tubes recovered but not really .... OVERALL OPINION

5 - Medium
Small (or large) less is the quality of manufacture "Chinese": The lighting of the VU meter on the right has a highly random and is mostly off! And from time to time the unit has some failures in the ignition.
With the purchase, seeing the tubes boîboîte locked in, and when the exchange tubes made in China, I was afraid they heat up and I practiced four small holes on the hood above d 'thereon to promote heat convection and thus have probably lost the "manufacturer's warranty" for a replacement. I'm good with, and very well, and the recordings with very good microphones meet some unanimity.
this machine is far from disgraceful when one considers the various dose parameters (impedance, High or low voltage, digital input ratio and dosage level, etc.).. And for the price it is still roughly merdo in front of a powerful and versatile machine for any sound, in stereo phase, provided you use good mics .... Of course not everyone can use U or 67 or 83 KM 4006 B & K. .. and must fall back on Chinese copies!
