SOUNDS

Console colors the sound a bit, but thanks to the EQ, it really gets a warmth and clarity is nice.

Is there breath? YES, we should soon get a little preamp, there's breath. So to use live, you really have to climb out not to push too hard the table (this is the only downside)

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 months, repeated in the studio, mainly to headphones (we are 3) I used it for several hours without heating or note any problems, a real plus.

I hesitated a lot between different models, which convinced me, that's the reputation of the brand, the number of votes, the multi effects.

Lack a direct output per track for transplanting directly into the sound card (you can cheat and use the jack inserts)

It remains for me an excellent value for money, we really do not feel like the cheap hands, it's serious!

UTILIZATION

I use it for background music groups in bar / concert (voice + drums + guitars + bass + keyboard), + characters evenings with a DJ.
I plugged into a HK Powo (2 satellites + subwoofer)
This is my third table, after a yamaha Beringher 8 tracks and 16 tracks.
At first, we must become familiar with how the mackie works: you have to assign each track to a subgroup (of 4), and once this is done, it will sound. But once you understand how it works, just roll!
The big advantages that have guided my choice to the console:

- Robustness (building serious)
- Effects: 32-bit stereo, very (very!) good, and there are two settings for each effect! (Rare in this price range)
- Preamp on each track
- Graphic equalizer on the final mix: It's great! not need to edit each track separately if we find that his general lack of serious eg.

OVERALL OPINION

what it lacks:
- A firewire output for multitrack recording! But do not dream, you are already a lot for little money, and especially the quality!
For this feature, you must turn to higher-end models, although more expensive.
- LEDs for displaying the settings are switched very practical (eg when a track muted solo ...)

that's all that I miss for my use! A great value!
I hesitated a long time with Alesis MultiMix 16 or equivalent with a Yamaha, but almost in every respect, the mackie was over .... I would definitely do it again this choice, even to buy another table to the multitrack recording.
Compared with my previous Beringher table, I made a great qualitative leap forward! sound quality, effects, opportunities and quality settings, strength .... in short, better buy a smaller table quality to a monster with a cheaper brand that will make you regret your purchase soon!

OVERALL OPINION

I would do the same choice without problem, however if I had to change it, it would only go digital!

Paramtrique EQ on each mono track.
4-band EQ (low, 400Hz, 3kHz, high) on 2-way Stereo.
Routing: 4 subgroups, 2 aux (pre or post fader), 2 FX send, 2 Stereo Returns.
Output XLR + jack hand over an output "out Utility" output equivalent to the main mix, but with a potentiomtre rgler volume to the volume separately.
The output "tape out" RCA is the equivalent of the main mix, but before the fader "main".
One XLR output to spare Subwoofer (filter).
Insert the mono + 8 tracks on the main mix.

No key "bypass" the qualiseur gnral (you must put all faders to zero on the by-pass) no possibility to assign an output particulire (returns ) as on some consoles.

UTILIZATION

- The drivations "to" and "effects" are trs simple to understand: the button layout talking to herself, and srigraphie guide the eye (switch connected by a line to which it is potentiomtre li etc.)
- The only BMOL is on the main route: the track can not be sent directly to the main mix, but must be a subgroup, which must itself be the main road .

I'm not pro and few lments comparison. So no opinion on the quality of sound. It suits me well, and that's it!

OVERALL OPINION

I have the console for a week, it's my gift from Nol and I toy with every day ... I had a Behringer UB1204FX before.
To have sound with an amateur performance of some instruments and voice, and without any other hardware that the microphone (no equalizer, compressor, effects).
I really like:
- The "all-in-one" of the console: enough of (8 + 2 microphones stro lines) and route (4 subgroups, with 2 + 2 fx), equalizer on the main mix, effects Intgr.
- Legalization semi-parameter. It is my great pleasure from the UB1204: rgler diffrent to the sound of a violin, an acoustic guitar nylon or folk electro-acoustic sound and hear the typical sound of the instrument because its own frquences are highlighted ... The 4-band equalizer on the line between stro is nice also, my electro-acoustic folk out even better through this channel.
- Led a "level 0" on each mono between rgler very practical for the gain of the pre-amp (the signal light output pre-amp, but pre-equalizer, pre- fader).
- And little extra: button "break switch" to turn off all the microphones at once, dedicates output for subwoofer, connector for lamp (lighting of the table).

This console offers all the features I wanted in a "medium" (not compact like UB1204, but when even portable).
