My first reaction on the JP-8000, cold, would be to say "But why does this synth Posed does not have an octave over?". Nothing to look at it, one would think it is mainly dedicated to the solos and the stage, which is of course not!
For indeed, all the controllers on the front make the use of JP-8000 very intuitive. Nothing to say it: the JP-8000 is a true digital analog modeling (and not vice versa!). So it is true that the leads and the bass can not compete (I think) with real analos. Where is the best in my opinion, it is the Fx and tablecloths. We can find some organ sounds pretty damn good, even if it is not the primary function of the JP-8000 to be realistic.
Audio and MIDI connections entirely conventional ... The arpeggiator is a bit light, though quite effective of its kind (it is very clear that I have written here !!!!!.
In short, this synth is a "ready", which is not inherently negative, quite the contrary. It deserves, I think, a good 7 / 10.
UTILIZATION
General configuration is very simple: "all the front" is for here. Editing sounds easy ... Manuel clear ... I do not remember the galleys. If you are an impatient in the editing of sounds, then this synth is for you. So 10/10 for use.

OVERALL OPINION
I've had two years. I like its ease of use and reliability compared to a hard-analog. I am a big fan of analog modeling synths that correspond to my conception of music. After, of course, do not expect outstanding sound performance.
What I like least, to quote a previous post, it was his side "plastoc" and the fact that there is no longer an octave on the keyboard.
Frankly, I hesitated at first between a JP-8000 and OB-12. Seen how the OB-12 is critical in the torpedo, I do not regret my choice (in any case, I tried this synth in Paris and it really seemed to ring hollow to me).
At the same time, I would do this election for 400 euros. But now with the Alesis Ion, it would be to see ... Overall opinion: 8? 9? Ok, 9 / 10, here is the!
