Korg VC-10Published on 07/18/12 at 01:42
The Kog VC 10 is a vocoder, I am not really into vintage vocoders that much but I must admit this one is petty cool. A buddy of mine has one of these and still uses it to this day, I get the chance to go over there and mess with it from time to time and it makes time pass fast and its a lot of fun. I just personally don’t have a use for it in the style of music that I am trying to create, also I do already have a vocoder that I purchased a few years ago that is newer from korg, just in case I do need to use it .

UTILIZATION

The Korg VC 10 is a very well built machine, its very easy to understand if you know how vocoding works you will have no issues learning and using this vocoder. The machine its self is pretty compact but I don’t think its small enough to label it as “portable”. It has an odd tall shape to it which makes it difficult to take around with you and I don’t think it has handles or anything on it, its not that heavy though and you could carry it somewhere if you needed to.

SOUNDS

You can use this VC 10 to breath some life into your music if you are in search of some different stuff. There are some cool things that you can do with it, I just don’t have a need for it as of right now. It also has some good filters that you can use as well, this vocoder has been used by a lot of musicians over the last 20 years or so. It has 32 well built keys.

OVERALL OPINION

You will love this if you are into vocoding, but that would be the only reason that you would want to purchase it. If I bought it , it would just take up space and be a waste of money. I don’t like vintage vocoders because newer vocoders can do so much more.

= Vocoder robot voice.

UTILIZATION

There's no easier !!!!!

SOUNDS

6 / 10 by what the fans will not like kraftwerk.
its almost distorted, aggressive, very interresting.

OVERALL OPINION

Vc-10 bought 620 euros. With original microphone.
the grain of the vc-10 is interresting because the sound is not very intelligible.
I hate a vocoder that sounds like my own voice, and it is not.
shame not to adjust the bands voice processing;
For those who can not afford to opt for a dvp-1 or a Boss SE70.
because prices are a little excess. The VC-10 is not worth over 400 euros max!
it's clear the analog sound analog, not digital and you must pay the price!
for the giant! …

Old School!

Analog vocoder.

UTILIZATION

It can not be simpler, front hook, knobs for adjustments.
One button per function ... I never had the manual but the time of grip is 5 minutes (provided you have already had an analog synth).

SOUNDS

The question being debated!
for lovers of digital vocoder to hundreds of bands, this is not the right toy.
on the other hand if you like funk sounds of the 80s with very little robotic voice intelligible is the perfect tool!
Especially as have external sounds can swing in, I use a Korg Mono / Poly for more fishing, suddenly the possibilities of multiple creations!

OVERALL OPINION

Recommend for all fans of electronic sounds, analog synths, funk, g...…

Micro probably bad.

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use, but little possibility of creating separate the effect itself.

SOUNDS

The intelligibility of speech is almost zero. We can not understand what is said into the microphone, unless a patient as articulate, to pronounce syllables long, and at the hearing to make a big effort of attention.
Basically, there are a, o, i, or. The rest is treated as such all sibilants (s, f, ch, z, v) that become "i", for lack of resolution of spectrum analysis in the treble. All consonants "plosives" (b, d, k, p, q, t) are indistinguishable. The m and n are indistinguishable.

Responsiveness is a terrible weakness: a very short percussion give a kind of "plop" guimauvesque.

The VC-10 vocoder is the only incomprehensible, all competitors are much better. Its coast is overvalued because of this.

The VC-10 modifies the spectrum of a sound, and can claim to produce effects, like a super-wha-wha pedal. Little more. Just listen to any other vocoder comprenre for the VC-10 vocoder is the worst ever built. Its coastline is largely overstated, precisely because the comparisons are almost nonexistent. I bought these vocoder

year of its release. I sold quickly. Very disappointing
