Ampeg SVT-1000

The Ampeg SVT 1000 is a solid state bass guitar amp head that delivers 1000 watts of power. It has a both a high and low 1/4 inch input in the front and a speaker cable output in the back to send this amp to your speaker cabinet. The setting controls are as follows - there are knobs for gain, bass, ultra mid, treble, effects mix, and one that is fixed to choose between different styles. It also has a master volume knob and a ten band graphic EQ.

UTILIZATION

The general configuration of the Ampeg SVT 1000 is straightforward and easy to follow, even though there are a good amount of parameters to control your tone. It is easy to get a good sound as the inherent tone is great and full of life. I don't have a manual for this, but it is quite easy to use and the average user shouldn't need one if you don't have one.

SOUNDS

The sound quality of the Ampeg SVT 1000 is great for both recording and live shows. It is great for any type of music, but I use it mostly for rock and pop music. When I use this amp head with an Ampeg speaker cabinet and a Fender P-Bass or Jazz Bass, I always tend to get a great, full sounding tone. The wide array of parameters makes it possible to get a number of different tones for varying situations and applications.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using the Ampeg SVT 1000 bass amp for about three years and it is one of my favorite bass guitar amp heads out there because of its ease of use and great sound. The price is pretty expensive, but it is really made for the professional looking to get one of the best bass amp heads out there. I can't say enough about the great products that Ampeg makes, and this is a prime example of their expertise when it comes to making bass amps.

Everything is great at the features.
Subject to considerable power, DI output with adjustable volume in jack or XLR preamp output, power stage input, effects loop, tuner output, stereo output jack to act at the foot of the stand-by (useful for tuning ) and the start of the EQ graph.
In terms of connectivity, the only downside is that the head can operate in 2 Ohms. But it's really all.

UTILIZATION

The use and configuration of the system (despite the extensive connections) is a cinch.
Anyway, even if we do anything in terms of setting, we get a good sound ...
The manual is in English but I think everyone can largely do without.

SOUNDS

I play metal (melodic symphony), but I try to have a fairly varied sound palette. This amp head allows me all delusions.
Everything is possible: the sound very hollow (type slap), snoring very modern, some vintage saturated with nice mids and especially the sound (my favorite) with a focus on the ways of modern mediums and with nice sober serious though Deep and defined ...
The bass is really present and defined even at high volume (the drummer in my group really hits hard), but I only play with the speakers with 10 inch speakers (SVT 410 HLF).
I play bass Tobias 6-string (Standards, KillerBs, Classic, Basic) and it sounds ...
So it's hard to describe exactly what I always wanted.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 6 months.
What I like most: the opportunity to work with beautiful mids and deep bass.
Still, my two little things "bother" a little:
no connection in 2 Ohms and a fan is a bit noisy ...
In comparison, I have a SVT2Pro before, SVT1000 is almost level (for a price more than 30% cheaper and lighter than 2 times ...).
I tried a while as the SVT Classic, which, in one style, sounds a little better than SVT1000.
So very good investment, very versatile. I do it again this election easily.
