Bought for under £200 inc P&P from www.soundslive.co.uk to use for loud rehearsals and gigging.

For the price, you'll be hard pushed to find a better 120w combo than this. It has every conceivable line in/out, tuner jack, octaver and 'shape' on a foot pedal (supplied) and is cleverly designed to be used 'upright' or tilted back through 45 degrees as a monitor. You can run it flat out without it distorting and it only really feeds back if you are doing something stupid. The 'shape' option on the second channel allows you to change the sound for solos/whatever.

My only problem with this amp is that it's ported at the back. While it's plenty loud enough for most pub gigs, you need to be careful not to block the port or you lose a lot of volume. It's avoidable in most places but where space is at a premium it takes a bit more thought when setting up.

The amp is completely solid, covered in furry black carpet which attracts all known kinds of dirt. It has a heavy grille across the speaker and chunky plastic corners. All the knobs are protected from knocks and it has rubber feet to sit it straight or tilted. The whole unit is much smaller than you'd think and therefore quite portable, although the cutaways at the back make it a bit awkward to lug a long way.

Looking at the competition from Trace Elliot, Peavey, Marshall etc you get far more for your money with this amp. So it doesn't have a big logo on the grille...well Behringer are known and respected for the rest of their gear so don't be shy! Ideal for most small/medium gigs as a main amp and just as good as backline if you then hook it up to the PA. Buy one!

I got this 60 watt combo amp from www.samedaymusic.com. I paid about $160 for the amp and shipping.

The amp itself is very solid. Excellent construction and design, I'd say. No cracking with any of the knobs. The amp has wonderful features. The eq works wonderfully, and the shape filter is worth the money alone; you can dial in almost any sound you want. The unit sounds great . . . . until you turn the master volume past about 2.

I got this combo amp about a week ago and the day after it came out of the box, it developed a horrible rattle. As long as you didn't turn the master volume past about 1 1/2, it was fine, but who wants to buy an amp like this just to leave the volume as low as possible.

Great construction. Other than the major problems with the speaker, the unit is wonderful.

If you're considering buying this product, please make sure that you do your research first. After buying it and discovering the rattle, I went to several bass guitar forums and searched their posts to find if others had this problem, and a LOT of them had the same thing, always returning it. I've never read anything about the 120 amp model, BX1200, having any rattle problems, so I'd suggest saving up about $100 more and buying that one; that's what I'm doing today.

I was searching online for a bass amp that could meet my needs for power, sound, and money. I saw this amp at Musician's Friend and decided that I had to have it. It had so many features and it was quite a step up from the 6 watt amp that I was using before. With shipping I paid $272 and it makes me feel like I stole this amp.

This amp has everything ever imaginable and then some. A four band EQ, 2 channels and one with a shape function which really helps to punch the sound out, and a really cool Ultrabass function which is like an octave switch. The ultrabass really adds a deep-throated growl without the troubles of detuning. This amp comes with a footswitch for easy operation of changing the channel or switching to the ultrabass. This amp is everything that you will ever need and more for practice, live shows, and recording.

There is absolutely nothing that I don't like about this amp. For me, it is the perfect amp. I love it.

The amp is durable and is built like a tank. The sound is amazing right out of the box.

This amp is in the dreams of every bassist. From beginner to pro, every bassist should have this amp. I haved used it with my first bass and now my Fender fretless, the sound is superb and versatile. Support Behringer and buy this amazing amp.

This amp is a 120watt solid state bass combo amplifier with a 10 inch speaker. Most of the connections are through 1/4 inch jacks. There is three bands of EQ, a volume knob, headphone out, and an auxiliary input for connecting anything else you may have that you want to be played through it but I don’t recommend it though. Stick with the bass through this thing.


UTILIZATION

It's very easy to dial up a variety of good tones using the EQ settings. I never had to crack open the manual, it's pretty much plug in and go.


SOUNDS

A nice low end can be produced by this amplifier, or with different EQ settings, a nice mid tone can be used to cut right through. The amplifier doesn't go very loud, so it would be hard to use this next to drums, but it has more than enough power to teach lessons or to use in a bedroom.


OVERALL OPINION

This is a good amp, but I feel like Beheringer bass equipment tends to be overpriced due to the name. This amplifier isn't large enough or powerful enough to really use with a band unless it were miked. There isn't a direct out, so it would be hard to use it onstage. Still, this amplifier produces a nice, solid tone and would be very well suited to using it for bass lessons due to its compact size, RCA ins, and dual inputs. Effects would be a nice feature for this purpose, but aren't entirely necessary. If I could only add one additional feature to make it more useful it would be to have a direct out, so that the tone would be consistent instead of placing a direct box in between the bass and the amplifier. All in all its decent but there are many other amps on the market that can provide a better sound than this one at a better price.

I use this amp for a year. What I like is to have a octaver directly into the amp (no need to pedal). The Shape function gives her a little fretless (nan when you do not even another bass in the hands ). It costs about 400 € for a 120 watt tilt and with all these functions is a very interesting value for money without talking about the strength and sound clean ... I think if he had to do it again because I REFERRED has this price ...

Configuration simpa enough with the big knobs including a very interesting shape that makes the sound more smooth and harmonious. I use it for 5 months and I see more and more flaws. The value for money and simply excellent here we can get a Behringer 120w for not too expensive. But it remains for those who play alone at home. Do not expect to have such a beautiful sound that art amp or amp + a head. Do not forget that Behringer is trying to make the best possible way to achieve a fairly good sound for cheap. I wanted to buy this amp. I went into the first store (Archambault) for essailler and watch the prices, decided not too. The copy on display was not working, it was plugged in, lit up but no sound came out. The seller can not find either the cause told me to come back, they would install a new demonstration shortly.
