The effects-are they effective, responsive and realistic enough?
Some are anecdotal where others are clearly tailored to use touch. Filters, for example, though far from analogue standards, are very great job. The typical effect slicer is really nice too if only one manages to properly synchronize the on BPM.

This is where it goes bad. I MIDIfié guitarist. My Profile: home-studio owners to electro house. I'm not a DJ, this is my first Kaoss Pad. on the other hand I've experienced a lot of Korg products before.

Unpacking, pleasant surprise for materials, metal is good! Even the knobs and fader are metal, which is quite rare and pleasant to be reported.

Opening the manual, ouch! It is poorly illustrated, it seems thin to an effects processor. Obviously it's less complicated to use than Electribe. See directly on the machine to get an idea.

Wiring and power, yes! It responds really well, the pad is very nice, is not afraid to abuse a little thanks to a protective adhesive plastic to put it right out, well thought Korg.

SOUND QUALITY

The sound is really nickel, a little breath on the input line (really honest work), for against the microphone is less pink (unless we talk about pink noise, then it makes perfect sense), avoid at all costs. In any case, a microphone with a 6.35mm jack is not oriented pro.

Amazing for an effects processor, you can not assign the effect you want on the X and Y axes of the pad. This gap in programming, it seems too complicated for a DJ (target marketing of the product) is largely compensated by the profusion of well designed presets, versatile enough for a lot of uses. My favorites are the loopers, you can manipulate beats on the fly very efficiently.

I have a KP2, I'm a fan of the concept.
I will however make my KP3 seuleument after 1 day of testing.
my grievances:
- The button "depth effect" is far too close to the button input level. I imagine very well live in the dark trying to put the depth bottom and turning the input level!
- They have withdrawn from a MIDI Pad (KP2 ds, the pad sends information on CC # 1 and 2 after you touch the top or bottom of the pad, CA has disappeared). So I can not use my DS setup
- Some effects remind me of the KP1 or the output level was sometimes stronger than the bcp input (notably of the resonance of the filters). the sound is less balanced than the KP2.
- There is no phono input
