UTILIZATION

This doubleneck is one cool guitar! It is based upon the Gibson EDS1275, which is one of the most iconic guitars in history, all because of the playing of Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. In Led Zep's 1973 film "The Song Remains the Same", JP's Gibson doubleneck is prominently featured during the song "Stairway to Heaven". I've never played the Gibson version, but this Epi is quite a neat instrument. It weighs a whole lot - I feels heavier than my Country Gentleman I had, which was 12 pounds. I think this is in the 14-15 pound range, so it wouldn't be an all-night, 4 hour bar gig guitar.

It plays easily enough - all the frets are easy to reach. Workmanship is pretty good on everything, and the hardware is of better quality than the price would indicate. Tuning it can take a long, long time, however.

SOUNDS

The sounds are where this thing excels! It is so neat to be able to have a 6 string for power riffs and solos, and a 12 string for jangly clean rhythms, all in one guitar. One thing I experimented with a lot was having the twelve string neck in an open tuning that fit the key of the song I was playing it, then having both necks active, and playing on the 6 string. The 12 string neck would sympathetically resonate in the correct key, and it sounded really neat, a bit eerie, and very exotic.

OVERALL OPINION

This is quite a cool axe if you can find it. If you can deal with the weight, size (the case is ENORMOUS), and time it takes to tune it, you've got a bonafide winner on your hands.

UTILIZATION

Handles very nice, sharp access difficult for two innings, very heavy ...

UTILIZATION

Personally, it's been a while since I tried to offer me a twelve-string ... I took a chance and that's interesting ... I simply will not go systematically the choice given its price ...
There are other twelve string electric that deserve attention ... (stat XII, Danelectro, Yamaha ...) and have a more practical and less bulky than the G-1275 ...

Made Unsung (Korea), identified Custom Shop / Limited Edition. According to reports this guitar is made by a series of 100 copies only reprinted every 10 years, very rare. Mine is the 2007 series.

OVERALL OPINION

This instrument is simply magical. Far beyond what I imagined. Build quality and sound quality without sacrificing PRO to the beauty and finish.
At first the grip has been slow, the template of the instrument influence, but once accustomed it is strangely comfortable and ergonomic.
Value for money: AMAZING! For the quality this guitar is worth at least twice. I'm a little collector (I trade from 20 to 30 guitars per year) and I can guarantee that it will not be for sale to the amounts seen on the net: the price would never live up to the instrument . The only comparison is the price of US Gibson, and again, try the beast ...

Seieuse for use, replace the plastic frets by models that allow for tuning more flexible. My preference goes to Graphtech Trem nut. Once done, the mechanical origins are very good.
The microphone 6 string bridge is a little dry for my taste.
At first volume replacement by a 500k 300k should make it more friendly, if not it's enough I replace it with a classic 57 that I appreciate both my SG reissue 61.

UTILIZATION

The frets are comfortable, no surprises.
