The flagship in the Boss GT range of multi-effect processors for guitar receives a firmware update that is available for free download and adds the following:
- New MDP effects: Tera Echo, Overtone and A-Dist
- New Rotary 2 effect
- Acoustic amp model
- Guitar-to-MIDI monophonic converter from a 1/4” guitar signal
- Improved USB Audio/MIDI interface with multitrack signal send
- Compatibility with the Boss Tone Studio patch manager and editor on Mac and PC and the new GT-100 v2 patches, available as a free download from www.bosstonecentral.com.
Visit www.boss.info for more info and download.
The other news in the GT Series is the addition of the classy GT-001 desktop multi-effect processor for guitar. The GT-001 hosts the COSM amps and MDP effects from the GT-100 v2.0 in a more compact format, and you get the same dual system for chaining amps and effects in the order of your choice.
Along with the 1/4” guitar input, the GT-001 offers an XLR input to apply effects to a voice or acoustic instrument, a 1/8” aux input, an input for an expression pedal or two footswitches, two line outputs and a 1/4” headphone output.
The multi-effects pedal also features the same improved USB Audio/MIDI interface for recording and reamping to go with the Guitar-to-MIDI feature that allows you to use your guitar and play with your favorite MIDI software directly on your computer.
The GT-001 users can download the free Boss Tone Studio to change their patches as well as gain access to the Boss Tone Central in order to download additional patches.
The GT-001 can be USB-powered, but an external power supply is also provided. More info about this new model at www.boss.info and in the following video we shot at Musikmesse 2014:
