PAID $395, SAM ASH, NO PAYMENTS FOR 12 MONTHS. That helped. I bought this unit for the amp and speaker simulations.

This unit is sturdy. I was used to a ZOOM 505II but no complaints about that unit. I like the ease of use. I am easily frustrated with units requiring several minutes of wrestling. This unit has knobs!
If u like your setting... hit the "write" key twice and it's saved. Has wide range of effects that I would normally not use, but now I will! I do alot of recording and this has made it easier without alerting the neighbors.

I like everything. A case provided would be nice, but, I guess you can pick one up for under $25.

Beautiful color and construction. Great display. User friendly.

This unit gives you a wide variety of pre-amp and cabinet simulations. Would suggest everyone get one. Makes you wonder what is the next level of digital is going to be.
Though it's not the actual thing, why not try it like this:
Power amplifier and two 3-way speakers. This is my new gear. My ultimate stack.
You will set a new sound standard.

I refer to the manual of 86 pages
No lamp, it's digital.
But torments me a question: IO send and return they receive the same converters as the input and output?
Small flat staff: the sampling frequency is fixed at 44.1kHz, which prevents me from using the digital output since I work at 48kHz. That said, according to Nyquist 44.1kHz is ample to respect the audio of an electric guitar, so I understand the choice of Boss about it.
Big plus for the Noise Suppressor that is excellent, the grid-in audio that can change the chaining in all directions including externalities.
Last, the pedal is a reliability and durability which makes it a companion along the way.

UTILIZATION

I used a GT-3 for a good ten years so I was familiar with the ergonomics. For someone who discovers the logic of the device, the manual is essential. That said, the manual is very clear, well translated and generous in theoretical descriptions.

SOUND QUALITY

Modulations are very good. A special mention for the flanger is very organic / liquid, really excellent. Some effects are too extravagant for my taste, I think in particular that is very humanizer connotations.
Compressor and limiter very good, really.
The acoustic simulation is far from an acoustic guitar, but for clean sounds, it adds a beautiful shine.
The processor is fast pitch shifting, well made.
The wah is also convincing, you have presets that emulate a CryBaby, a Vox. On an overdrive, the CryBaby is fine. Note that I compare it with the red Fasel Wylde Wah, which is not bad, that's saying something.
The strength of this pedal is that all parameters can be edited, making it a complex but fully customizable. In theory, concerning the modulations, it is possible to find exactly the sound you want, all of which is to be patient.

I do not use reverbs but exceptional cases, I regret the absence of a spring reverb.

The timing is very good, with many possibilities. No fault of that side.

This brings me to the effects of distortion and OD, and there is drama. No surprise on that side, it is synthetic, garish for some, certainly not in short what we can expect a saturation or a grain. Personally, I use the outer loop to connect to an OD (TS-7) and an 8-band EQ. From there you can adjust the amount of signal that is injected into the loop (via the drive) and the amount that reduces (via level). With a tube amp behind, as if it boosts the pedals were connected directly, the loop does not color the sound, just like the rest of the pedal, amazing. Dynamics is respected to the extent that you took the time to adjust the output level of the gizmo, the patch level, the output type, etc. ...

The preamp simus are not all convincing, I think particularly in high-gain, which suffer from a lack of dynamics and a grain too cartoonish. However, the simulation VOX AC30 (apart from the lead channel is ugly) is quite successful, and that of the JC-120 which was a shame to miss for Roland / Boss
Note also the ability to customize an existing modeling preamp, by shifting the bass and treble sweets spots and pushing or dropping them.
Simus on HP, then it is false in full. The technology dates, for sure, and convolution simus really really simus relegated to the rank of models filters coarse comb.

In short: excellent for modulation periods. Reverb a bit limited. Simus preamps convincing for some, bad for others. Simus HP to cast.

OVERALL OPINION

Pedals solid, serious, very good sound quality. Perfect for the modulations, effects and temporal dynamics. The filter effects are convincing. For the rest (HP simulation, distortion, OD), it's light.

Priced at the occasion, this is a very good deal.

Say that the WG 6 is easy would be lying ... No, it was for everyone, but it will be easier for those who already owned a multi-purpose ... I've had two weeks and frankly I hesitated, I am very pleased with this purchase. No regrets.
I bought OCCAZ € 400. The value for money is what it is but it is better for a GT 6 ME 50 accaz a new ... You have everything and more, try to buy all the effects you want a price pedal ... If I regret not having been able to try a vox TONELAB SE ....

On paper a very interesting product: almost the entire catalog BOSS underfoot, amp simulations, MIDI outputs, a huge bank of sounds (I do not know how many hundreds ..), all for a price very affordable.
All classical effects are available and configurable as desired.

UTILIZATION

The grip is a bit long at first, but the beast is tamed easily. Use quickly proves very intuitive, and the large number of buttons available helpful. I would say that after 2-3 weeks to paw the doc and tweaking the gear we are very comfortable.
After it is easy to sound rude in a few minutes, fumbling a little with all the buttons. For the rest no mystery, we must spend some time on a very large number of parameters to get exactly what you want, but that is unchangeable, regardless of the stuff

A big flat on the other hand: effects no "classical" (ie other than reverb, delay, chorus), are grouped into 2 groups, and can not be used at the same time 2 effects of a same group! Immediately this limit ... but we live very well in the end. Moreover, some effects are pure gadget (auto riff, c'te joke ....)

Another detail quite negative: 99% of the sounds of plants are zero to shit ... not necessarily very important, but sad for the grip because it is better to restart from scratch to be a sound , rather than reusing an existing sound. Given the number of submissions, they could make an effort ...

The manual is very complete (even downright off-putting), and French.

SOUND QUALITY

I used it alone, connected directly in the feedback loop for 6 months (to play the Metal). The verdict is mixed: the effects are very good and very comprehensive, with a number of parameters very comfortable. Here where the low is on the amp simulations. Much be clear: your GT-6 does not sound like a Dual Rectifier ... The GT-6 is true to the mixed reputation in BOSS distortion: it lacks a little body, sounds quite electronic. By exaggerating a bit you could say that all distos "heavy" end up resembling closely or remotely to a Metal Zone.

Since I use a H & K Warp on the outer loop, and there are no pictures ... my old distos sound like a tape recorder next to the 70s. The small additional investment that makes the difference ...

[edit] little comparison that hurts: I just invest in a POD, all I am sorry to have kept it as long WG6 ... Besides the POD XT, the preamp section of WP6 is simply ridiculous. Also add that the headphone output is also very poor quality.

OVERALL OPINION

First a value for money very interesting for those who have no intention to spend a lifetime to buy the whole catalog BOSS. Getting started is simple and effective interface and well thought out. At the sound, do not expect to go an entire studio with a GT-6, the amp simulations and distos remain fairly cheap. The best compromise is to my mind to invest in a good distortion pedal if you want a big sound (and not a BOSS ...), and combine it with a good amp. on the other hand effects are nickels.

WG6 is actually just a MULTI EFFECTS, that should be used as such ... for its effects, as preamp. Anyway it is expensive at once ...

If it all over again, I probably spend more time trying the equivalent models from Digitech (GNX 1 and 2), and especially the POD XT Amp simulation for correct!

UTILIZATION

I used two different ways:
1 - live in PA (no amp so). Tendency to feedback, modeling but sometimes moderately convincing effects of good quality for the price.

I bought 5 months ago.
I was previously the line6 pod X3 live and it's not the same sounds and not even how to manage the effects and the line6 sounds flat next to the BOSS.
