Use from 1 month to essentially the tekno.
My PC config is a good 2-3 years ago, just boosted for disks (SATA RAID Stripe) ...
My config is heterogeneous: ADAT to use the sampler, analog inputs for the K5000. Changing a setup (next purchase of a G2X).
I bought this interface to replace my old system Creamware (Pulsar II).
I started to use all the connections from the second week of use, except for the SPDIF. Nickel!

I seems there a problem with the MIDI card, which does not look very strong side Sysex. When large shipments, the card is not responding fast enough, or lose data sysex!

EDIT: Big problem with the ADAT. Let me explain: I can not use this interface in full duplex ADAT, ADAT outputs with configurable routing and therefore can not use it as a monitor and an external effect. Big disappointment because I largely config to use it also as a reverb-off.

UTILIZATION

Installation and implementation worthy of a fairy tale, but as I worked for 4 years with Creamware, I doubt that conmprendrais my objectivity on this issue!
No incompatibilities encountered, except Skype software in sessions with my musical double, Cubase and started running behind the virus (yes, I know!). This is probably due to the CPU to the card elsewhere.
Configuration to operate just took me 20 minutes to several hours to route my external hardware and its effects with my Cubase. The routing is largely fixed but leaves the possibility of working in multiple configurations, which are neither more nor less, than those we usually need (-1 qd same). One note though: MIDI is not multi-client, if you're talking about (-1).
The manual has been of considerable utility in connection with the ease of use of the card.

The Assimilator software supplied with the card does not install at all (can not find the card while it is turned on and connected).

EDIT: Let's talk about the drivers! All they would not mind that, before delivering an updated driver, it might be useful to test it??

GETTING STARTED

The drivers are stable and changing, which is a good sign.
It seems to me that a reputation is at stake, through the advances proposed by TC. This map represents the first line of an entry for them in a market highly competitive intent where the error is commercially sanctioned, given the number of parts to be produced. The updates are quite common and offer more than just bug fixes (the beginning).
Very good stability and stability to 512 samples to 256 samples correctly.
My latency is a reflection of the sometimes extensive use of my PC with no other applications that drive my motherboard into a corner is good. Otherwise, it's firewire!
The number of tracks is determined by the number of effects in Cubase I ask (and I do use my PC, see above), more than my card itself. I am currently playing a dozen tracks (MIDI VST instrumentals and external) and a dozen audio.

Latency problem with the version of firmware and sotfware provided to install (1.03).
Stability problem with the latest version to date (1.10), especially for the use of effects plug-in mode for the sequencer, but more latency.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this corny for a month and I am satisfied.
I like the sound first! A clear, clean, clear and unadorned (compared to the converters that I know through and my Creamware sampler). I also like the effects, which are much more than make-up effects for my taste. It's simple: they allow a self-generation entry-level pro, with the help of converters.
I have not tested anything other than Creamware and RME (and SBLive for those interested) and my ears make me think that it is much better (out of proportion for Creamware, more difficult to distinguish from RME but even qd).
The price charged up for me this card for direct comparison with Creamware the low end of the time when I used it and I say that technology's help, we can only gain in terms of sound quality! However, I would not compare this interface with its direct competitors on the market, even though I do have the right choice for my setup, and especially for my connection.
I would do this choice and I'll do it again soon by the way, since you can chain several.

Finally, I will wait to see the next update of the driver and soft drinks before you even consider keeping it because you have to juggle a few problems that seem unworthy of such an interface.

EDIT: No, finally ... I do not have that choice and would do point me to the equivalent in terms of quality of conversion but in PCIe as much flawless, in terms of stability!

I started with a RME Multiface I then sold the Fireface 800 to move in the same brand.

Result of financial worries I sold my Fireface 800 and I started looking for an audio interface more modest in terms of functionality but would not make me lose audio quality (which I m'tais used to with products RME).

The TC Electronic Konnekt 24D has t read as quickly given the lodges that can be read on this board (review of SOS, Recording, etc.. And even Audiofanzine).

UTILIZATION

Installation on Windows XP is no possible problem: it installs the drivers (for my part I directly put the latest 1.2.2 rcuprs on the official website), we branch card and everything works!

GETTING STARTED

Hey, is that the things are not right!

I knew, having traveled the forum Audiofanzine that many users encountered the problem of 'drop out' audio with this card (cuts its random image).
Unfortunately I did not screed ...

I run a simple audio file player and it's a catastrophe. The sound is hach ​​Fawn compltement random image. It works without any problem 5 minutes and all of a sudden he y 'sound interruptions every 10 sec ... then works again. Sometimes a compltement crashes and Windows no longer allows me to play audio files, only a reboot of the Konnekt Remde there but only a few minutes before another crash.

I try to change the Firewire port, I make a clean Reinstalling Windows XP, try the famous mode "Standard PC" instead of ACPI that seems correct this problem for a lot more but I trouble than anything else with all the configuration changes.

APRS short one week struggle to make it stable I gave up: I sold the card and I dbrouiller to keep the RME Fireface 800, which she never hesitates and whose drivers show a dveloppement copy from RME!

OVERALL OPINION

Finally I have a deep sense of gchis with this product.

The interface is beautiful, well thought, with good pramplis, the DSP's internal quality, high-flying audio converters, etc.. Ms. price trs honnte view of its services.

But the game has all drivers gcher ... In one week I have not run russian Fawn stable yet and I'm not a computer beginners. This card could approach the perfect product if TC Electronic leaned a little more about the drivers.

I do not want gnraliser well Obviously this is my own exprience with this product (which also works perfectly for the other) but that j'espre tr s soon as the software part will be the height of the hardware, which is far from being the case at the moment! Too bad because I will have preserved otherwise happy ...
