Editable Mac / Pc I'm on mac Snow Lopard and no worries after installing the drivers available on the Line 6 website.

USE

The manual is well, it is not a Chinese head case (Lol)

As for the edition with the GearBox software is simple but live on the same x3 it's not too complicated but I did the same to open the manual to see how I had to do !!!



SOUND QUALITY

While the sound quality !!!

When I bought the beast, rentr'm home and I direct branch marshall all my lights and I say !!! IEA horror impossible to have a proper sound and m Correct me is worse than a prciser !!! I remade a test on my Marshall I've realized that putting all the knob to 12 h 00 except volume and working only with those of the Line 6 ben medium to obtain some thing not bad, but hey I am only at the beginning of my research.

SOUND QUALITY

The effects are more or less good. Some modeling amps (JCM800, Fender) do not look anything like reality.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall quality of pretty cheap pedalboard (plastic).
I am touched by the fact that the cell volume pedal fails. This fault is recurrent (see forums) and that the pedal .... not his fate (the volume remains at zero)!
It reflects the decline in quality between POD XT and X3 (I own both).

Became unusable live: you never know if it will work or not ...

Value for money limit. AUuourd'gui if you buy is secondhand, and given the reliability of the photocell which is under the pedal, it's the lottery, you do not know when it will drop.

To avoid in my opinion.

The POD X3 is an amp sim/multi-effects pedal from Line 6. It uses all digital signal processing. Getting started is as easy as plugging in your guitar and headphones, then stepping on the foot-switches to jump between presets. The software application for the POD X3 has always given me problems. I think there are some 'bugs' in the way it downloads the presents to the foot pedal. Normally, I recommend using a software editor with a GUI. However, with the problems, I find it easier just to tweak the knobs on the pedal whenever I want to make changes.

UTILIZATION

There is a learning curve when starting out with the POD X3. There are tons and tons of options to edit the internal processing like: amp EQ, speaker models, microphones, effects pedals, parallel signal chains, etc. This requires scrolling through a lot of menus when looking at the screen on the pedal. It can take a while to figure out how to get to the right place to edit what you want. After you figure this out, this pedal is capable of a ridiculous amount of different sounds.

SOUND QUALITY

Amp simulation isn't perfect. The Line 6 X3 sounds convincing, especially if it is in the context of a full band. Still, it only gets the guitar player most of the way to the experience of playing through a real amp. To me, the best use of these kinds of effects pedals is in the studio to experiment with a ton of different sounds without having to completely change your setup. If you play live in a cover band, it might be useful to be able to switch between a lot of different sounds as well.

OVERALL OPINION

Although Line 6 has released a new line of PODs (the HD series), the POD X3 still has some useful aspects. I really the Matchless, Orange, Budda, etc. amp sims in the X3, but they are missing in the HD series. Hopefully, Line 6 updates the firmware of the HD series in the future with more amp models. Until then, the X3 has the most number of different amp simulations, well over +100. This alone should attract the true tweakheads.

I am a professional guitarist.
I use a lot of configs, amp, pedalboard, etc., and among other times, the pod xt pro, with the FBV Shortboard.

I used this last config across to the variety (variety = all styles, funk, rock, pop, etc.). Both small scenes that on very large, avaec an audience ranging from 50 to 10,000 people.
I have used only "live on the sound system", thanks to the integrated DI.

I realized that the pod X3 Pro is much better, in many field, the pod xt pro + config fbv.

Why?

Firstly because it is a solution "a while", so no-brainer for the emcombrement (which was minimal but the xt pro).

Then lots of improvements:

- Being able to have two "tones" per preset (I will not go into details, but you have to walk twice as many possibilities)
- Being able to drive a Variax, and even pre-program changes microphones!
- The comp boost: before, this button was for the reverb, but let's be clear; often good enough reverb for all patches, suddenly, thanks to the boost, we can stay on the same preset, and enter by programming a solo boost on the same preset.
- The sounds of xt are, and we add to this, line6 packs that cost $ 100 more, and this, for free.
- The effects loop can be programmed for each preset, you can put it before the preamp stage, or after.
- The dual tones: I personally do not see too much interest, but ... a priori, we mix two config, ie 2 presets in a ...
- If one owns a Variax, you can use dual tones; this Parmet, for the same preset, set two sounds, one for the Variax, and one for the other guitar. Utilie eg repeat two guitars, or for teachers, etc ...
For those unfamiliar with the machine, here are some tips (Live console):

- Vox for clean and crunchy slight
- Line6 clean for clean
- Orange for slight crunch
- All marshall plexi for the crunch
- Engl saturates for rhythm or lead
- Line6 big bottom for modern solo (Lukather and others)
- Agro line6 for lead (mediums between half and bottom) ... it runs squarely on simple bridge position

for the latter, it is essential to play on console and in a mix and volume of scene; at home, it's rotten, but on stage, it is huge!

All simulated metal pack are fine but a little ressembent all.
They must be left as is for rhythm, and move it slightly to the medium for the lead.
But that said, I did some tests and tests, those that work best are those I have quoted above.

I play guitar in a garage band of 40 somethings who are trying to recreate our teenage years. Call it a mid-life crisis, or whatever, but the simple fact of the matter is finally we can afford the toys we've always wanted, and now we get to make time to play with them. My wife actually bought this for me as an early Christmas present recently. She wouldn't say exactly, but after looking it up I can see she paid about $500 at one of those online music gear retailers. I did want a new guitar, but when she asked me why I told her I was getting tired of the same old tones. On her own, she went and researched and decided to get me this as we, like most folks, are on somewhat of a budget this year at Christmas. What an amazing woman.

Wow, this board has it all. Effects for acoustic and electric guitar, bass, and vocals. It can process two live streams so you can hook your guitar up to it and use the vocal processor at once - amazing. It can serve as a front end to any home (or heck, even professional) recording rig, and is just as comfortable in front of my half stack. This thing has so many amp, cab, and effects models built in, i don't know what to do with them all - I know, try them! Seriously, there are like 98 amps for guitar, 24 cabs, almost 30 bass amplifiers and maybe like 20 bass cabinets. There are also 6 preamps for vocals processing! Built in! You can even run seperate lines from one guitar through two different processes and to two different amps. Talk about crazy. The unit runs USB 2.0 for interfacing with your PC and whatever your flavor-of-the-month record software is, or S/PDIF digital out if you have Pro Tools or something that can take a fully digitized signal. I also like the fact that I can take this board over to my buddies house and plug straight into his PA. Because of the various amp models, etc. it's a lot easier than lugging my stack around.

As with anything that offers this much, the board can be somewhat cumbersome. While I think it's slightly easier to use and a little more intuitive than, say, a POD XT, there are a lot of things to play with so don't expect to know your way around this board until you've had it for several months. That's really my only complaint with it, that they packed almost too much into one unit.

Construction? How about built like a brick shit-house? This unit is tough, built of strong materials and just feels solid and heavy. Ive already dropped it twice I think moving it from my computer room to my garage and it takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. You old timers will remember what commercial that is from! Some of the switches seems a little flimsy but that just might be me. Something to keep an eye on over the long term, but right now I dont see a problem.

Nice job Line 6. The POD X3 Live is packed with cool stuff to experiment with, has multiple line processing capabilities, supports multiple instruments/vocals, can be interfaced to anything from an amp, PA, computer or other recording device, contains tons of amp, cab, and effects models, and is all bundled together for around 5 benjamins. Cant beat that!

UTILIZATION

I use this pdalier Ibanez 7 string with Seymour Duncan with microphone and at the same time with a little electro and your exact guitar is excellent with both.
This is truly simultaneous double modlisation extra (the two circuits pdalier possde spars is like having two pdaliers for the price of one).
There is nothing superfluous my opinion. I love all the possibilities that this offers Pod.

OVERALL OPINION

So I use it for three weeks but I feat bottom.
I can not find anything obvious that is ngatif X3 live on, even if it is a bit fragile at first.
I jou on tons of stuff before: Pod 2.0, no amp, Korg, Vox Valvetronix, Zoom ... and frankly it is at the top of the basket with no problem.
It is clear however that the price is if you just lev a pdalier effect and that was a good amp. But for my use live plugs directly into a console with two guitars simultaneously and two direct outputs that do not ncessitent DI is the top.
I think up Submitted, Line 6 still out products of good quality but which still lacked a little something. So we bought and was a little unsatisfied, but the hand of a small lamp pramplification (which will be released probably on a future release because the Russians have Line 6 ...) I do not see amliorer how this product.
If s'tait again, I Do not hesitate. Trs expensive but good!

I bought two days for 469 euros on the site of playback.fr.

OVERALL OPINION

Pdalier gnial in sound, connections, amount of effects. In particular, the SPDIF output, which saves 2-way (requires STREO) if the mixer in possde, MOTU Traveler, for example).
BUT, there is a but, no editor available for the moment, and that has lasted five months. When we had used to edit with a computer, you get the nose of the machine with the blood that rises a notch against the head not very big but more important than the Pod XT Live .
Line6 has released an update of the firmware (internal software) which should allow the future to use editor but in my case, and I'm not alone, it produces a sound resembling an acute feedback (F # 14 I box) that dclenche random image. Check out the website of the forum Line6 X3 at ddi.
That said to put a (big) BMOL this excellent machine (when running). My solution to return as the previous version of firmware, but I permettra_t_elle the use of editor? Line6-released version t_il clean it because all keys are not machines (lottery!). In short I love BCAN but ...

On paper, this pod is a real massacre. Basically, the Pod XT Live with all the "Model Packs", input / output and more (between micro, 2 between instruments, XLR and jack outputs, etc.). And especially a double string processing which allows for two simulations parallle drafts. As guitarist and singer, c'tait exactly what I expected ...

UTILIZATION

The edition can be done in two Manir:
- Directly through the interface of Pod
- PC / MAC with Gearbox Software

Typically with this kind of approach, called the house slowly presets on its computer, and then editing APRS in BPS (to adjust the levels in most cases).

If the edition on computer is simple and intuitive, even for the dual tone, I find the edition on the Pod lets DSIR. But being a regular at the Pod XT Live, I n'tais forcment trs not comfortable navigating the menus. The dual tone brings a lot of paramtres supplmentaires rgler, and in the end, it was a beautiful plant gas ... In the edition, for a dual tone (eg voice + guitar), was forcment rgler 2-way, and thus 2 times more alterations in prvoir RPET, if is more ...

Regarding the manual, I just opened 2 or 3 to find information, but it looks plutt full ...

SOUND QUALITY

It gets to the point that FCHE ...
This product looks so good on paper ... When we had a Pod XT Live, we know that the dj sound quality is not worth all the good stuff true analog, but it remains all the same all perfectly acceptable in one branch PA.
We are left with potentially two times more processing power and all the model packs included. But unfortunately, Line 6 has made the choice to save on the essential elements of the processing chain that is for me rdhibitoires. Here are some:
- The micro prampli is simply unusable for the potentiomtre rglage level of no effect on the little prs 9/10me the knob of the race, and the 10 th last, you go from "just not the" "full of fried" unacceptable. I had heard of this problem on the forums that apparently applies to all POD X3 Live: unfortunately the case and if your singers and you plan acqurir the Pod X3 Live to a , go your way!
- The headphone output is fool quality. I compared the same presets Pod X3 Live and Pod XT Live. Rsultat: m'tais I never realized how the headphone output of the Pod XT Live silent good as that of the X3 is rotten! The signal to noise ratio is at least trs trs below that of the Pod XT Live.
- The passage of a preset gnre of the other transient noise. So the point I ended up returning the DCID Pod X3 Live to the dealer. I also wanted to compare with the same configuration presets the X3 and XT, XT when to switch to another without a preset that can not be aware of nothing, the X3 g NRE espce of the "click" really unbearable ... I speak here of "click" sound caused by the processing chain (not by the noise switch mtalliques cr).

OVERALL OPINION

I used one week, the time to test RPET in the house then.
In two cases, I found it worse than the Pod XT Live for various reasons evokes above, for résumé:
- Ct rglages manual is a gas plant vritable ... one more thing for guitarists to make new friends in RPET!
- The ct, a micro pramp trs bad, bad headphone output and transient noise between presets

In addition to these two points, I note two lments ngatifs supplmentaires:
- Building the X3 Live plastic: it's much more lightweight and less stable ground, and it is less solid carrment
- The AC power supply: dj than the XT Live is not the top, the cable connection and power supply connector block seem too fragile (single tube on each cable connector more end and smaller).

In conclusion, this Pod is a great dception on paper because he had all the qualities I was looking for as a guitarist / singer for scne and RPTES. Line 6 wanted to offer less than 500 euros an evolution of the XT Live to be in fact a s'avre rgression ...

Before you buy, try ......

Numrique modeling pedals, modlisations large variety of amps, all the effects (or so) are l): distortion pedals, compressor, boost delay, wah, chorus, reverb, ... Intgr tuner.
The machine is actually a dual effects processor. We can if desired be between two instruments and features indpendamment paralllle (micro, or low, or electric guitar or acoustic guitar), or have two channels for processing an instrument (such as plugging his guitar into two amps paralllle each with its chain effect, which can give interesting sounds, see live demos on site X3 line 6). Personally I do not use with an electric guitar in between.
Connectivity enough complte in jack or XLR output.
Branch can be used directly in the mixer or in a guitar amp. Personally I use only branch of mixer and sound system, and it works very well in this context.

UTILIZATION

I find this remarkable machine think in terms of ergonomics and intuitiva use to play on scne:
