great quality

Blue Microphones KiwiPublished on 10/20/11 at 21:31
The blue Kiwi is a great and high quality condensor mic. I think this mic is a phenom for instruments, acoustic guitar was awesome. Female vocal was also pretty awesome, clean, some make vocals are great on it if they are higher pitched. My rich baritone voice is not very warm on it though. Every one I record on it sounds great, the only one I don't like on it is me. I want to try a Neumann U47 or something to see if it's just in my head or is it really that good. I expect a warmer sound on me, more "Shocking warmth" but never quite satisfied.

My mic pre is the blue tube from presonus with a groovetube in place of the tube. I want to get the Presonus ADL600 or avalon AD2022 to see if...…

My mic pre is the blue tube from presonus with a groovetube in place of the tube. I want to get the Presonus ADL600 or avalon AD2022 to see if the quality of the NT1a improves...Using a 192 delta audiophile card from m-audio and nuendos 4. This mic is built well and will look great in your home studio. You will get crystal clear audio vocals with this mic no hiss or hums either. If you understand mixing and mastering you will have professional sounding records in no time and with little effort. No more paying to go to the big studios. Make sure you have good acoustics in your home studio set up and a shock mount. You will be 100 steps ahead of anyone that is recording from home, no matter if your just recording vocals or instruments this mic can do it all with out a doubt.

OVERALL OPINION

This is a great multi-purpose mic for any engineer. The sound is highly detailed and transparent. This mic made my guitar shine, even while connected to my lower end mic pres. Sounds good on everything I have tried it on so far...drum overheads, acoustic guitar, vocals. For the price you cant beat it. If you are in the market for an all-purpose, affordable mic, look no further.

The Blue Kiwi is a high quality condenser recording microphone. It has multiple polar patterns - cardioid, figure 8 and omni. It also has settings for in between each of those, with 9 patterns total. This is a great tool when you want to experiment with different polar patterns or for different applications. It is always convenient to be able change polar patterns right on the microphone. In addition to it being a great sounding mic, it looks really cool - the color shines and the capsule is the signature Blue circle, always good for impressing clients! I have also heard that

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using the Blue Kiwi for about 8 months and I've found it to be extremely crisp and clear. Its flexibility in terms of polar patterns makes it a candidate to be a top go to, all purpose microphone. That being said I've found it to sound best on male vocals and is one of my favorite for that application. I also like it on acoustic guitars and other acoustic stringed instruments. It is also an effective mic for getting room sounds on a guitar amp or getting any room sound for that matter. I've used a lot of different mics and this one certainly holds its place. I would compare this mic to other high end condenser mics in the same price range like a U87. Compared to the price of a U87, this is a great deal. This can actually sound a bit better for certain applications than the U87. However, I'd probably rather have a U87 if I could only choose one, even though the price range between the two microphones in somewhat significant. All in all, for the price you're going to get what you paid for - a great mic that is used by professional engineers.

They have one of these beauties at the studio I often freelance at, and let me just say this mic is just stunning. First of all it is very striking to look at, like most of Blue's products. It has a very unique and hip design that really catches the eye, and in many cases helps to inspire your performers, which is always a good benefit of flashy gear. This mic also definitely delivers sonically though, so it's not all flash. The sound is extraordinarily crisp and clear with a sweet top end, that reminds me of a U87. The bass end on this mic is clearly defined and you don't get mushy woof on the bottom like you do with some condensers. The mids are very clean and don't get honky...…

The bass end on this mic is clearly defined and you don't get mushy woof on the bottom like you do with some condensers. The mids are very clean and don't get honky unless what you're recording is honky. Blue will also hook you up with a very nice wooden case and velvet sleeve for the mic, as well as their very cool looking pop filter with their logo neatly emblazoned across it. The mic and shock mount are hand made in the US, which is good to know and attests to the obvious craftsmanship of this mic when you hold it. This mic also has 9, that's right, 9 polar patterns to choose from. That makes this mic extremely versatile when it comes to controlling leakage or bringing some room tone into your recording. What a mic!

OVERALL OPINION

I have had access to this mic for a few years, and it has become one of my favorite condensers to use for acoustic guitar and lead vocals. Clients love the great look of this mic as well as how their voice or instrument sounds through it. The tone reminds me of more expensive Neumann mics, so I would say you are getting a good value with this one. I don't own one, but I plan to buy one for myself in the future. It's really a classic in the making.

Already the microphone to the class and it takes up space ....

For a voice of man he is ... perfect (what? I have already told the ?? Well, I can not find anything more to say ...)
The bass is deep, the medium present, specific and airy treble, the sound place in the mix alone ... It is what p .... Perfect!
For women's voices, silky, soft p ... Well .... Genial.
For an acoustic guitar or a piano, c is happiness in a box.

This mic is the same excellence.

Robbie plugged into the same mark (which is excellent also in the process ...) in a portico, a 6176, a joemeek (English please ....) Eevery brings a touch device and the microphone is responsible to reveal all the potential of the musician and the instrument used.

I cry every shot ... Well, ok, I actually a little on this one, but all the sounds are swallowed to possess such a work of art.
All sources tested, I have always taken my succeeded with this one.
