Great tube tone using Transtube technology!
Published on 05/25/17 at 23:48Got this amp for a portable solution as it only weighs 38 lbs. Seen You Tube clips of people playing Metal and it sounded amazing! Peavey went over the top with this amp as far as their amps (Peavey) they moddeled. Priceless as it has the XXX, JSX, and Krank amps that are no longer made! 6505+ matched perfectly w/ you tube clips of 5150's too! Cons= I don't like the other amps moddled ( Marshall, Bad Cat, Vox AC, ect. Effects are ok but not amazing but adequate. Stompboxes are usefull. USB recording is a great addition!!! Amazing practice amp overall is the point and really does sound like a tube amp in it's sweet spot. Won a lot of awards in 2009110 - Jerdl

Level settings, there is food and drink, but in the overall effects are very honorable, I come back later. As against a missing Loop, available only with the pedal Samper.
UTILIZATION
The configuration is clearly not easy for a beginner if you do not shop for someone to show you how it works: in fact there a lot of adjusting knobs (10 exactly) some of which are "clickable" to access has options such as setting StompBox (The simulations of effects pre-amp) or passage Clean / Lead. But after hours pass, we understand how it works.
For the manual, prefer English, flee the French version of Google-based translation, however only in pdf.
In terms of sound, it is the same. It's a modeling amp, it can not be ultra easy to configure what ... but its being done.
SOUNDS
I use an Ibanez RG Prestige 2620 equipped with Dimarzio. Clearly intended for the metal, it can be used as a can and other Vintage crunch, the Clean is not too bad but hey, it's not excellent.
Playing Opeth, From experimental and other Satriani, the amp is perfect. Lead channels, even though they may look a all, offers a good definition throughout. The cleans are a bit down personally. But overall, it is generally good.
The amp has two modes of stacking effects, Ormis Reverb and Delay are separated and used simultaneously with the other two effects (and that's pretty good):
A pre-amplifier mode, which simulates a StompBox effects pedal Effect very well transcribed, Auto Wah, Flanger, Phaser, Chorus, Fuzz ... all parameters.
A-mode on top after the simulation of the sound, and therefore much less convincing, except maybe the rotary speaker, and other effects such as Octaver and Pitch Shifter. Be aware that this mode allows to use the effects pedal: Pitch Shifter mode, the pedal can work as an effects pedal. This is also where you will find the Looper.
There are two modifier volume, pre-gain and post gain. Post a gain for refining the main volume knob, which you can quickly break down a drum if you have the misfortune to think once want to test the amp up, ie 13/13 (yes, 13 positions !). The 75 watts you will feel them. I think that 3 / 10 you should easily exceed 80dB in a room of 30m ². No worries about sound to a room or outdoors.
There is also Powerpong function, which simulates more or less a tube amp. It filled his role more or less, I personally put it at 100%, if I fall I find the sound rather flat.
And the gate? Bah ... Y 'is not (it is already included passively in the amp but I must say that even if it is not transcendent, the background noise is relatively muted.
OVERALL OPINION
I've had two years now, and I am sure.
Caution still the default software and pure hardware, such as from the output Headphone sound comes out very average, the ultra annoying bugs that occur randomly and when you turn the amp (stuck on one mode) even though it can often happen.
I tested a micro cube before, but ... wanting more diversity and not having a well defined line at the base, I do not regret the choice.
Plus: The big bank model, the effects of quality StompBox, the Reverb and Delay that are also quality, optional pedal board I strongly Samper.
The least: The software bugs during startup of the same amp, Headphone output, which prohibits more or less recording via computer music jack 3.5 ... out the microphone in front of the amp! Complexity to set the amp at first.
Otherwise, at this price, you'd think that modeling is honorable for an amp. Add to that the effects like Flanger StompBox or phases that are quality and you have an amp / effects with a very good value for money, as long as you want to skip if you do computer music no microphone recorder.See less01 - Lpu123456Published on 01/26/09 at 16:58 (This content has been automatically translated from French)SPECIFICATIONS

For the sound I have nothing to say we all can go from hard rock metal through simulation or 6505 very nice clean stroke the twn! Full simulation effect all very well done even if two three effects are not worth those of line6 spider3 peavey but surpass it!
For me I think he lacks a little low for my taste but I get a little close to the pedal stroke ca BOSS MT-2
Both effects can be put together by all stompboxes and effects
PowerSponge a bit useless for a very strong

The configuration is it simple?
At first glance one might say no (normal when you look there are plenty of button that will flash across) but actually it is relatively simple to understand, basically it takes a dozen minutes on it to understand the overall functioning of the amp, APRS for any master of the fingertips on it that has to be longer.
Do you get a good sound easy?
Honntement, yes. You plug the guitar, we choose an amp and you play, the plants are rglages trs good basic good of course we just a little fiddling to get even better sound, but already the sound is basic good. And then use as relatively easy, its good to have an almost child's play.
The manual is clear and sufficient?
Ben dj manual, it is a dvd, not on paper, too bad because everyone does not have a pc cot of his amp, especially at the beginners manual n ' is not too much, it's still a modlisation amp, with lots of stuff tweak it, so it is a manual of this case, and on paper is even better <img class="smiley" src="https://fr.audiofanzine.com/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt="mrgreen" /> .
SOUNDS
I play mtal, and yeah, not like Linkin Park but rather like Gojira, Ben has done. Among the amp simulations diffrent estapilles "High Gain" the best of my APRS is the 6505, the XXX and JSX missing some gain my taste. On the 6505, the game is daunting palm mute for a transistor amp is by far the best that I've jou sound is just good, it makes you want to play (before I had a Hartke piggyback with PDAL blackstar bin c'tait not), it is almost like an all-tube (well its still a bit cold when it's not the lights either), the rich mdiums I, who believed in the cliche "in the mtal for the sound must cut mdiums" bin it is very obvious that Earl is bullshit, in addition to the power sponge adds that little cot "chunky "the sound (like an amp lamps) trs enjoyable. I have not really surprised by the t trs sound, even at low volume (I play in an apartment) ben its still good, good it is true that a lack a little low, the low E string ...... sounds a bit empty as if it lacked bass, but it is not obvious either, you get used to, then there must be a way to fix a.
As for clean sounds (and yeah mtalleux has come to play for his clear, not often and not long in gnral but sometimes ^ ^) I tried the amp unue other scrapes with a copy of strat cruiser low-end (I also tried with my jackson kevin bond quickly but I stopped as soon <img class="smiley" src="https://fr.audiofanzine.com/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt="mrgreen" /> ), I have ben t surprise, the sound is also full of warmth, roundness, DEFINITIONS. I really classic AIM, I went in a little improv blues (even when that lasts half an hour) and has carrment done, especially with the guitar when I was playing. So in fact the issue has nothing wrong honntement for amps, either in clean or saturated all models on offer are DIFFERENT, there's really something to find happiness in terms of its tastes. For the effects and pedals, I'm not the specialist in a while I felt good overall, some (such as delay or compressor) lack a bit of rglages (two knobs for all effects) but otherwise its still accpet (but the rest of numrique).
[edit on 07/07/2009]: Well actually the lack of bass is really obvious, too obvious even, and then the magic has dissipated a bit, certainly its still a good transistor, but its still infinitely far lamps, and I think the simus unrelated then the amps modliss, they would have done better to invent names, another thing the legalization is not effective enough in my opinion, for have a real diffrence in respect mdiums the largest margin of maneuver is between 0 and 1! That's basically good this amp is not bad, but once the illusion falls for me has ben done more.
OVERALL OPINION
In the end this amp is really a good surprise trs, I took some default because I had no money to pay me a whole lamp, but I do not regret this purchase, I l 'I pay 299 euros in stores, and for that price I did not expect to have such a sound with such a palette of grouping, not really I think the price quality ratio is really good.
Before I tried to take a ValveKing Royal 8 and honestly bof ERRF and great to me over the 112 but already it is more expensive and it takes quite a push to get a good sound so good. ...
I would do without this choice hsiter
PS: I did not talk to the USB port, I have not had time to use (in addition to those stingy with peavey not provide the cable with the amp) I would then later a.
[edit on 07/07/2009]: ben good I come back to finish what I started in the end this amp is a good thing, with lots of sounds and everything, but I'm not really sure to use m tal, and then he really lacks bass (ok it can be can be corrected by changing the hp but hey made an investment of more ...). in terms of output usb, well its just may be my pc but when I use it, there's too much latency to play correctly ==> unusable if it costs on the pc speakers must listen to the sound of the headphone amp and as a result means that no sound is recorded. In short no gnial not compare what is advertised.See less01 - WinnerjoePublished on 07/29/09 at 02:20 (This content has been automatically translated from French)What kind of amplification (lamp, transistor ,...)?

SOUNDS
For heavy metal sound, this amp is just beautiful!
When I say heavy metal sound I think well on the clean and crunch own such a type of music you can clean with chorus trovuer the magnificent anglique (devilish or ...).
The strength of this amp is the Peavey sound, with its heavy and fat, typical of vintage tube amp, but modern version But the versatility is standard.
I play with a lag arkane 500 and in sending this amp with that power. Precisely this power, it is not about volume, but prsence, and it's really beautiful compared to line6 spider.
The 6505 amp is really great warm, it's a well-typed lamp! There is also the JSX and more screaming and XXX heavier. The krank diezel and are fairly typical. As against the correct simulation is zero, it is a copy of the line6 insane ... Cter crunch and clean, it was good to trs fender amp, I love bad cat for its vintage. With regard to the marshall and vox not really found the sound of the brand but it is not too bad.
The effects are many and quality ... J'hsiterais not mean that some are only as can be found in pedals for a hundred euro! The chorus, compressor, Dlay, ... Really great quality. But it lacks a gate, too bad. The reversal effect can not be used with its latency. The wah is really good (I'm a crybaby possde to advance ca), the shifter is ptich quality in acute, but if you lower the tonality is lost really in some compartment that I DEFINITIONS 'I could esseyer.
In short, that of happiness ... The output from usb is not super convenient ... It means that you play during recording but you can hear what is playing on pc, because the speaker is connected only the power amplifier, and using the amp as lo'rdi sound card. In short, it is to record some demos quickly, but it will never replace a vritable interface or sound card.
OVERALL OPINION
I use this amp for 3 weeks, and frankly it's breathtaking. Before I had a spider in line6, it's nothing to see! ! The VYPYR the surplice on every point: amp simulation and crunchy clean saturated, effect, power and prsence, versatility .. Do not buy line6, even the 4, I heard some dmo is awful with distortion ... Finally, unless really liked the sound cold and tiny transistors.
Exprience with the thousand times I remake this choice, the report is noooorme quality. In the beginners I thought if I buy it, because 280 is a 75 watt amp the price of a low-end, as the spider ... especially since I had nearly 400 budget. Being a fan of ReValver esseyer I wanted this amp and then l. .. oufff, do not rely on price, amp is much more, thank you for the made in china <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt="wink" /> ...See less00 - King Loudness

It's a solid state 75 watt amp with all the same features as its smaller brethren but it also has the power sponge control which acts sort of like an attenuator and gives a bit more of a tube like sag and feel, especially to the lower gain models.
UTILIZATION
This amp can be a bit much to take in at first glance but it's a fairly easy to understand interface, especially if you're a guitar player already. The layout is basically a modeled version of a typical amp/effects rig. Your stompbox effects come first in the chain, followed by your preamp adjustments (amp models). Then this is followed by your effects, and then adjustment of power amp items (essentially your EQ controls of bass, middle, treble) and then finally a master volume to get whatever output level you desire. It's a great interface and sounds wonderful once dialed in with some great presets from clean to high gain.
SOUNDS
This amp is great for many different sounds from clean to high gain. While it lacks the general tube feel of the high dollar amps it's emulating, I really can't expect much better tone out of such a moderately priced amp that is packed full of so much. It covers a wide variety of different tones and sounds great at all them. Some of the high gain sounds a bit compressed for my liking but for a beginner I'm sure it is just cool to have so many flavours of distortion tone available, plus all the cool effects built right in. I really like some of the low to mid gain sounds like the AC30 and Badcat with the gain turned right up as it gives a more natural tube like sound than the higher gain Mesa/Diezel/Krank models do. This is true with all the Vypyr amps to me, even the actual tube ones.
OVERALL OPINION
All in all I think the Peavey Vypyr 75 is a FANTASTIC bargain for the $350 new that they cost. It's really quite mind boggling to think that such a moderately sized and fairly inexpensive amp can sound this good with a wide variety of sound emulators. It's definitely my go-to recommendation for a good jamming amp as there is simple no better bang for your buck than the Peavey Vypyr series.See less00 - Xx-head-xXPublished on 12/31/09 at 15:35 (This content has been automatically translated from French)Peavey amp for this magnificent 75 Vypyr any transistor, we do not know what to say (well the retro look of south winds so not her)

Just an awesome amplifier. This is a great practice amp and also a solid jamming amp. The tones I get from this amp are so powerful and thick that it makes you want to run out and start recording. I particularly like the 6505 setting, which sounds awesome.
If you are into metal tones and the lead that are fast and huge in the bottom end and midrange then this is a great amplifier for you. I like this amp with a Les Paul or other humbucking style pickup. Since most of these amp models are geared around heavy distortion and grind.
OVERALL OPINION
I would give this amp a rating of 10 if it had a speaker simulator output for direct recording or going direct into the house PA system or mixer. If it had that operation then this would be about the most perfect beginner amp or practice amp.
At new these amps come in at around $300, which is a steal of a price for what this amp can do. I would recommend this amp to anyone who need a goo practice amp or jamming amp then is on sort of a budget. Or if you have kid who wants to learn the guitar than this is a great amp to start out on.See less00 - NorésihiaPublished on 03/01/10 at 02:41 (This content has been automatically translated from French)Dj t say everything above

I needed an amp with a simple setup, versatile, easy to transport and a concept all in one m'intresse.
I used to play in groups in bars, night to do so again only for all styles of music.
I use it with an ESP Eclipse with EMG pickups and deluxe ltd micro seymour duncan.
The DIFFERENT sounds that we can have good quality are now missing the heat lamps caractristique amps good but we know when buying this type of amp.
You can go to a clear round or slamming a big distortion drooling
The only downside is the headphones for recording, the sound is too serious and has nothing to do with that sort of HP of the amp, I go through a sound card TC electronic, logic pro 8 and the spring on his Dynaudio speakers and even with BM5A DIFFERENT headphones (AKG, Monster Beat ...).
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 1 week and I must say it is stunning, sounds are clean and of good quality.
For my use in my group doing it again for me because I actually played all styles of music.
Rglage the effects and sounds very simple, you just have to equilibrate at the equa-hop and it went away.
I advise buying the pedal Sanpera I or II (for my part I took II) as change channels without a hand is a little delicately
The principle setup with an amp and a pedal for a while and be able to play everything I needed.
I'm not with my purchase, I buy after you try all the same.
I would do it without hesitating choice to use that if I use for my other group of compounds with a true sound personal identity is not appropriate at all.See less01
