OVERALL OPINION

This was my first octave and I never looked further. I tried others, Pog, octave multiplexer, EBS octave and octave even the digitech bass synth wah fashion ... they are all better than the OC-2 on a technical level, but none has the charm of this old brown thingy.

My opinion is about 2 Octaver Boss of '80 (Japan made it) that I owned and played a lot.
Use: super simple: three knobs: treble octaves, octaves, and the mix of the two in the signal.
Sounds: perfect, great set, very typical (sound "Boss" of the 80's, quite meaty, dense).
I've played with different guitars (Charvel, Strat 'japan, Gretsch) and different combo (Peavey, Engl, Laney), these effects always sound great.
I acquired other Octaver since these sounds and then I miss. In fact, my two Octaver Boss had fatal internal trouble ...

It is an analog octave pedal for guitar in size, but also works well with bass.
Its operation is simple: it allows you to add one or two octaves below (not an octave below and one above as some models).

UTILIZATION

Easy to use, this pedal has three knobs: gain of 1 octave, gain 2 octave and a master volume knob. Simple and effective. I use it with a bass and it suits me very well.

In conclusion, I would say this is a good pedal for the price. I tried other dedicated octave bass in other brands, undeniable qualities (EBS especially Markbass who model good) but the prices are too high for rare that I use. This is primarily an octave shifter pedal, with a few extra unique features such as the Polyphonic Effect and a drive mode which features distortion. The pedal uses digital technology. I think I liked the flexibility of signal the most about this pedal. The fact that I could blend three different octaves together into one signal is pretty cool. It greatly expands the range of your instrument, albeit in a limited way. The price isn't really that bad, it usually lists at about $120. I do think that you could get a cheaper octave pedal and be satisfied, but not to the extent that this pedal would bring. The sound quality is one of the more natural-sounding octave pedals I've played. I have played a few other models, and compared to this one, the sound quality was inferior, even if the functionality was greater. I would ultimately recommend this pedal to anyone looking for a more conventional octave pedal.
