I use it for over 2 years.
I tried ACUTE 15 Audiophony that sounded good but also less powerful.
What I like is the power, sound quality with a weight of just over 20kg in an easily transportable volume.
    Report excellent quality / price.
I would do this choice if I want to increase the power.

Very good sound for the price.
I sold it to acquire 115 DSR (less compact but can happen bass box under certain conditions).
I tested a lot of things, I also proposed a comparison on the forum.
Compact enclosure, less aggressive than the classics of other brands in the same price.

I used the last 6 months and I'm very happy I ve 4 with 4 boxes DSR 118 the whole sounds serious really nothing to say, and it also works without the boxes I have full use of other systems before JBL. Martin Audio. Dynaccord. ..... And that cost much + expensive for results only slightly better I think the price and excellent quality, and then there is the report Yamaha reliability I remake this choice without hesitation that I love the -. (I do not know, maybe weight) but it is not excessive n all major systems are heavy

One important thing that often as Yamaha attention to detail quality finishing an impression of robustness, reliability and materials already congratulations because in this price range this is not always the case.
Speaker with Yamaha shows its capacity to manage and master electronics because it is super powerful for its size (12 inches) with goodwill rather low but the most impressive is that high levels the sound remains own specific and nothing nor drool attacks, some medium (like Nexo) we recognize the swipe of our national Nexo (brand now owned by Yamaha) and this association will again in the future, many happy.

It lacks a side handle to put the speaker on foot.

Very nice sound very nice finish to try urgently before buying powered speakers and I'm not talking about the legendary Yamaha reliability.

My opinion is based on a short term use of these speakers, I used to rent. In short, they have a large power reserve and twelve inches is simply stunning! As for the quality, it seems that here we reach the top level.

    Impressive - listen comparative

    I listened in a shop Yamaha DSR112 DSR + 1 sub and JBL PRX PRX612M + 1 sub.

Remain on the heads, used in broadband. Power level, little difference, significance level also, but I was indoors and not very far (15m).

On different styles of music, it is worth, the two sound great (jazz, classical, rock and electro). Under the same conditions, the medium (about 1 kHz) is a bit more on this Yam. If there really hinders it, a small enough equation.
On solo vocals, I had a slight preference for JBL, especially on female voices. But when I heard a drum solo rock, it was clear: YAMAHA! Enormous dynamic, precision, super-transient response, a crazy attack. Even without the sub, I had the guts…

To each his own style: a guitar / voice or a string quartet, slight preference for JBL, however once there is a hammer, or the DJ, Yamaha without hesitation.

Little more about Yam compared to JBL: the two canted position to facilitate the return and set up access to the settings.
Least small: no legs on the cutaway. As I will soon use the back of a truck converted to agriculture during the scene, I'm going to stick rubber washers.

Just as good as the 15's

    Yamaha DSR112Published on 11/01/11 at 23:26
I posted a simple review for the 15" model. This review I will go more in depth. For the DSR112, I was blown away how pure, and clean this cabinet sounded. It was very warm, and crisp, exactly what I was hoping. Yamaha has come a long way, and to introduce this speaker to compete with QSC, JBL, Mackie, and Yorkville, they did a fantastic job. The exterior is solid, with a tour grade finish on it, and it was a great addition to add 2 handles, one on each side, (the JBLPRX615 only has one on one side). The amps were running super cool, and they were no where close to clipping, and it was very loud, around 119 dB. The DSR is at the same level of craftsmanship as the QSC, and JBL, but has bette…

The amps were running super cool, and they were no where close to clipping, and it was very loud, around 119 dB. The DSR is at the same level of craftsmanship as the QSC, and JBL, but has better response, due to the wood cabinet. The inputs are simple, and straight forward. The cool feature is, the DSR has a button on the back, press it once for high pass filter, again for full range, and again for a special EQ that Yamaha designed specifically for the DSR112 and 115. Use this with either a JBL PRX sub, or even the new Yamaha DSR 18 sub, it sounds great. One little feature I love is the switch able White LED in front. The LED is recessed in about an inch behind the grill, so you cannot break it, and you can turn it off if wanted, like the QSC's. The JBL PRX do not do that, it is illuminated the entire time the cabinet is on. I recommend this speaker, and urge you to go hear it for yourself, it will give you a different opinion about Yamaha.

I recommend these and the 15 inch model , they both provide a great sound that you will love and that will sound great in the club when you blast them. You get a good amp to run with these and you will be good to go. Give them a try, they arent too expensive either which is always a plus.
