Fender Champion 600 [2007-2012]

This 2 tone blonde and tan 5 watt beast by Fender takes the modern interest in tube amps and throws it back to the 50s where Fender amps began.

5 watts of power into one 6 inch 4 ohm Fender designed speaker is not going to tear down walls, but it give you the chance to hear a cranked tube amp without booking a stadium tour with Neil Young!

Knobs are so easy a caveman could use this amp: Volume. Yep, that's it one volume knob. Also a power switch, high and low gain in puts as well as a speaker out.

The Tubes are one 12AX7 preamp tube and one 6V6 that drives the power amp.

I saw it in my local music shop. Couldn't pass it up. Looked cool, sounded cool and I can always use a small amp for practice or recording.

These amps were originally $200, but have come down to $149.

It's simple to use. One knob! The amp really shines with a nice overdrive pedal in front of it. The 6' speaker can offer a nice jangle.

None really. I plan on experimenting with the speaker. I have always dug what Jensen makes and will see if they have a 6'.

If Fender put an 8 or a 10 inch speaker in this amp it would have opened up more doors for experimenting.

Retro. Blonde tolex and a brown sort of suede grill cloth over the speaker. This amp is compact and you could easily hide it from your wife! j/k

This is an ideal practice of recording amp. It comes in at 5 watts and has a solid Fender tone reminiscent from the 50's and 60's. It even looks like it was from the 50's. This is a cool little amp for those guys who like a nice clean tone that sounds like a small little Fender champ amp from the 50's.

SOUNDS

For me the only real use I see out of this thing is if I wanted some mild overdrive or basically a clean small box Fender amp for recording. The cosmetics of this amp are very cool and nostalgic, but that is where I leave it. The amp takes pedals really well and being a tube about for the price it is makes the sound from your wallet a lot more pleasing.

This amp takes guitar and effects really well. It does sound small when you play in since the speaker is only 6inches. The amp only has one control knob and that is volume. It has two inputs for high and low. You can get some dirt on your tone if you have it full blast and at 5 watts it's not going to be that loud.

OVERALL OPINION

I like this amp for recording. At new they come in at around $170 which is a cool price for a great sounding tube amp. I would recommend this to anyone needing a small tone for practicing or recording. It is a great buy for the money and will serve anyone quite well.

UTILIZATION

One knob. Not made to be versatile.

However, if you have then the effects will last versatility because he accepts very well.

OVERALL OPINION

I made the guitar for three years. I have a sunburst stratocaster american standard 1996 had a G3X zoom. I find this little amp very well. I've had a year and a half and I did not encounter any problems. I bought it used.

I work with a G3X zoom and I get to have that really sounds like me. I am not a professional but I think it sounds very good.

Without multi Indeed it is a good amp that only delivers clear sound. The sound is nice. I think in this range, the amps are worth little meadows thing. I chose Fender for strength and to be able to sell at a good price if one day I want to go on a 15 watts (Blues Junior or Laney VC15) to play in a group.

SOUNDS

Clear sound rather nice. You can easily add it Overdrive, modulation (Chorus, Phaser) or Delay.
He shall restore the grain pedals quite faithfully.
Less tolerant tackle the big guy Metal Muff but it will not really surprised.

It is well within the Fender sound "classic" but without much reserve.
Too bad there is no Bass and Treble knobs, there emerges a medium frequency can sometimes be a bit prohibitive, but overall there is way to have fun with and learn something really interesting.

Its 5 Watts may suffice for some type taken in the studio or just for the little snooze ', backstage, beef "low" volume but quickly loses accuracy at high volume anyway.

OVERALL OPINION

Occasional use for a little over a year but always a pleasure when I plug my Telecaster in 2008.
A little less excited about rendering with my SG Standard, it is a little too runny for my taste but maybe I have not plugged in enough to learn how to marry the two together better.

The price / quality ratio is excellent and I do not regret my choice.
Of course, it is not in the accuracy of a Deluxe Reverb but it is not the same use either ...
Easily transportable, very pretty, a nice sound, ability to upgrade by changing lamp and speaker, frankly what more for 200 euros. A 2-band EQ can be ...
