Been playing guitar for almost 30 years. Presently playing in a classic rock, blues band. We call ourselves "Unfinished Businss". We have had this band together since the 80's. I am also involed in a side band called "Blues Intruder"I enjoy most music from classical to modern music, especially great guitar playing.

This amplifier was purchased at Strings N Things in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I had played a Blues Deluxe and was enamoured with the warmth of the clean channel. I paid $750.00.

I like the warmth of the clean channel. I also like the overdrive modes of this unit. Note: The overdrive channel was greatly improved by a set of JJ Tubes. In the mix it is well defined. It is a very loud amp. The clarity of this amp suits my style very well.

The Groove tubes that came with the amp sounded muddy, and failed within six months. I don't much care for the press board enclosure. It's hard to see the lettering on the controls.

This is a 60 watt 2-12 amp with black tolex covering.

This a great sounding amp. Fender should consider putting in JJ Tubes.

I had just recently joined a country/rock bar band playing lead guitar. I was using a Fender Bassman reissue with 4x10 that I wasn't happy with. It sounded really dull and lifeless to me and I knew it wasn't up to the challenge of an actual working band. So I went to a local music store looking for something with tubes, two 12 inch speakers, and reverb (that the Bassman lacked). The only amp in the store matching that description was the Deville but it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. I paid $750 (with $300 trade-in on the Bassman) and it has paid for itself over and over.

This amp really performs! It sounds full and percussive (and LOUD!) with great high end. I hooked a second cabinet up to the external speaker jack (1x12 with a horn) and it sounded even better! It is also very tough, having had heavy things fall on it in the trailer (oops!).

I don't care much for the Deville's dirty channels (drive and more drive) they seem to lack that great tone the clean channel has and cause a lot of feedback with my Dean hollowbody. I don't really use them, I substitute a Boss overdrive. I have also noticed that it gets a little muddy when I use the neck pickup.

This is a pretty solid amp (and heavy!) and seems to stand up to quite a bit of abuse. It came with a nice cover too.

The Deville put an end to my years of frustration with amps. I have tried everything from bare bones like the Bassman to high tech (Johnson Millenium) and the Deville puts them all to shame. Whatever corners Fender had to cut to make this amp affordable is fine by me.

Well...I had been playing on the same old Hughes and Kettner Silver Edition amp for long enough. It wasn't loud enough, big enough, or toneful enough for what I needed. I decided that it was time for a new amp.
I'm a good friend with many of the people down at my local music store and one of them had a used DeVille. It was every thing I wanted and more. How can you beat an all tube amp for &600!!!

What I like...um lets see...It's all tube, which don't let anyone ever tell you that you don't need all tube...IT'S FRIKKEN AWESOME!!! It has great tone and enough volume for anything. Very user friendly and lightweight...perfect for any gig. Oh yeah...it also has duel gain opptions for creamin' to screamin' distortion.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have three channels, or a second volume...or something like that. I play lead as well as rythm guitar and I need the ability to go from loud to really loud. (Not to say that the amp isn't already really loud...let's just say I took it outside to see how loud it really goes...the cops were coming before I put the volume past three...)

It's built like a tank...I'm hiding under my DeVille when the tornadoe comes.
Very high quality. Totally awesome looks too.

It's loud. It's clean. It's dirty. It's all tube. It's the best tone this side of (Insert anything with more that two sides here...). IT'S FRIKKEN AWESOME!!!

This is an all-tube amp (and Groove Tube please!) Amp and preamp are therefore both teams. Let me tell you a Fender Combo 60W GT equipped with lamps that sounds powerful. This model is available in two configurations speakers: four HP 10 ", two 12" (that's what I chose). Anyway, once purchased, it is always possible to connect it to other speakers, which greatly increases its volume. For example, imagine two 12 "standard coupled with a 4X12 cabinet" Mesa Boogie, waouwww!
On the upper side of this two-channel combo found connetctique a comprehensive and settings: two instrument inputs (high and low impedance), one volume per channel, a gain setting for the channel full, a three-band equalizer located upstream of the distortion, it is affected by adjustments to it (note, however, that this equalizer is common to both channels, damage), a setting of reverb, presence control, a bright switch (very effective), a switch "more drive" (over saturation), an effects loop and a plug for the foot-switch provided with two buttons, phew!
In summary, this combo is powerful and complete; only downside: there is no separate EQ for each channel but hey, it simplifies the settings ...

Ah yes, the beast is its weight and the carrying handle may well be convenient and comfortable ... wheels have been welcome!

UTILIZATION

The two-channel combo and a half of this premium will delight fans of her hot, very hot (Blues, Rock, Jazz etc.).. For all one big distortion overdrive, like TS-9, will still be welcome. This amp is very versatile and reacts very differently when you play on a guitar equipped with this or microphones.

SOUNDS

The sound is clear the best vintage Fender (that is saying a lot) and sounds "pitcher" and distos justifies the name of this hot-rod all-tube, is "fat" is hot, the harmonic spring around (his real blues-rock), we immediately feel play in the big leagues.

OVERALL OPINION

I love this amp, it offers a real Fender for less than € 1400! 'll Always see in a few serious competitors ... the hot-rod Deville is certainly the best in its class!

Yeah, this monster has the defects of his qualities: the lamps is fragile, it must therefore be handled with delicacy. This combo is just as strong, tireless and faithful, it will follow you around as long as you have sufficient strength to carry it!

In the worst case, mount it on wheels and ... ROLL YOUTH!

So I play in a rock band electro and personally I rather play "grunge / noisy" and in fact I love that sound!

I stay on the clean channel and pedals I use (+ RAT BIG MUFF)
and the sound is big! bold! dgueulasse (in a good way)
I prfre with twin and twin reverb to my taste "tear off the head" because of the sharp!
So here I recommend it for guitarists who like to play "dirty" (or stoner), for me it's what I wanted, I think!
looking back now I use his final drive, to have a slight crunch really excellent! really more beautiful and raliste the boss overdrive sd 1 I used before!

UTILIZATION

Config ultra simple. This is an amp Vintage Designed in the spirit. Little less for the absence of a gain knob (but can be compensated: manip see below)

SOUNDS

I test a lot of amp and ended up buying the Fender Hot Rod City 2x12. I was looking for a lamp with a good clean sound to attach my multi efffets (Vox ToneLab).

MODELS tests (I speak as MODELS CATEGORY boxing in the same or close enough, it 's his lamp, bowl 12'):

Vox CC2 + telecaster: excellent sound, crunch the fire god, the attack mdiator rponse excellent, good rverb trs, trs much cash modulation effects: chorus, phaser ...
Against by my lack of bass and got a little too typical. Difficult to forget that we played on the vox!

Hughes and Kettner: Tube 20 (A slap, a superb clean sound, distortion that hard, but ultimately, APRS test group, it lacks a few watts to be heard with a drummer who types!)

Hughes and Kettner Tube 50 (test used): Deception: barely stronger than his little ERRF, Dfine less sound, less fat one disto ... Bizzare. Can they be lights taient fatigue?

Hughes and Kettner Statesman Quad: Not bad, but a bit expensive (900 Euros). Dea in the fender in the clear. Good vintage sound (crunch, distortion). More: rverb assignable per channel)

Fender Twin rverb: His clear crystalline lens in a little too much for me.

Fender Blues Deluxe: Its too round, almost deaf, lack of gloss and slamming.

Fender Hot Rod Deluxe (the same town but from 40 Watt 1x12 and therefore less safe). I tested the Hot Rod Deluxe White Lightning. Clear sound is a little lens.

Mesa Boogie (5:50 Express): Sounds great, great versatility, great precision in the notes, but an off-budget.

Mesa Boogie F50: Not bad at all. It's still a problem but the mesa on the F SERIES, hiss, feedback, breath ... With the F50, there's margin, but the F30 is a rel problem: the engine is too powerful for the carcass! Until noon (large max), we keep a clear, began to drool del a little! So no one can play sr clear sound as a group!
With distortion (channel 2 and 3, del 3 hours, impossible to play (my Start pickups 0 was a US ingrable feedback)

OVERALL OPINION

I hte test the amp config RPET concert, but I do not worry about its ability to take his place in the group (the lamps should help so as to be heard re clear)

The amp is indeed powerful (60W lamp adpotte!) But no problem for me because I compensates for the lack of gain by the volume knob out of my rack: advantage, the amp is pushed to its limits (volume 8 / 9) o the lamp without its destructive power as I can rgler output power. I guess that worked like a attnuateur power.

It's a versatile little amp in it even (very good clear sound, round with a desire prsence enjoyable, not screaming) but few possibilities in terms of rglages: the qualiseur (bass, middle, Trebble) does not really change the sound (it is far from the trs msaboogie). Rverb is the classic resort, enjoyable for me till 2. Then we hear beacoup springs. But why not?
LA is like fuzz distortion. It becomes INTERESTED that high volume. Otherwise, too rough.

Finally, a good amp that trs achte for his but is really the road. The lack of versatility of the amp (IDAL for jazz, blues) is compensated with effect pedals because the amp cash wonder all kinds of effects provided the hardware to which it is connected is of good quality (guitar + effects)
A good distortion and you compete with a quiet msa (the ones I test. You can also put a qualiseur and sound palette will open again.
The amp is a gross hardware that can carve his own way To create its sound.

YES YES YES. While the amp is not perfect, each with its spcificits, but the Hot Rod City keeps all its promises live!

I have long hsit amp test lot but the hot rod sduit me with its warmth, its neutrality and its power. For heat, I mean compared to other traditional style fender deluxe reverb, twin ... (more crystalline, too got my typs)
Neutrality (the amp cash effects VERY well)
Power: even with the wildest drummer no problem you go: Oh the lights! (60 watts you have more than the margin benefit your amp will keep a nice clear sound without trs high power problem, and no whistles ...)

It is great despite its high power and weight.

Conventional settings on an amp of this type. Super easy to use. The little more, the 'More Drive' What some do not find that great but I find it perfect for the style of music I play (Blues / Rock)



UTILIZATION

Configuration could not be more simple and the manual (2 pages) is virtually useless unless we want to look at the diagram of the amplifier.

The Fender Hot Rod Deville 212 is a tube guitar amplifier. It has a few 1/4 inch inputs for plugging your guitar into and has built in reverb and overdrive. It has a foot switch to control your overdrive and also has EQ controls, overdrive levels, and reverb level. Hence the 212 name, it has two 12 inch speakers.

UTILIZATION

Getting a good sound from the Fender Hot Rod Deville is quick and easy. Just plug your guitar in and go to town on the different parameters until you get a sound you like. Getting a quick clean and overdriven sound is easy and you have further control with EQ and reverb. The manual for this is pretty complete, but I never needed it much as the amp is easy enough to figure out how to use.

SOUNDS

The Fender Hot Rod Deville is great for all types of music. I use this amplifier with guitar only, and use it for mostly rock and pop music. It has a great clean sound that is rich, vibrant and is full of life. The overdrive has two different settings and is awesome sounding. It really eliminates the need for an external overdrive pedal, as this is great sounding and comparable to an Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer type sound. The reverb also sounds great and is quite useful. The overdrive sound has to be my favorite on this, but overall the amp is pretty awesome sounding and is perfect for classic or modern rock and roll.

I've been using the Fender Hot Rod Deville 212 for a few years. While I don't own one of these, I have a few friends who have them and I have used them extensively both while jamming and recording. Fender has a reputation for making some of the best guitar amps in the world and just about every guitar player I know loves these amps. They aren't too expensive, they are easy to use and have an absolutely killer tone to them. While they might not sound as great as some of the Fender amps from the 60's and 70's, they are great at what they do and built extremely well overall. This is a great guitar amp for players on all levels and I encourage all guitar players to try this amp out.
