OVERALL OPINION

I use this amp for 6 months. It is ideal for all styles indicated. Its strength, the sound ... boiling hot, especially after preheating in order. Its weak point, the breath, but hey, given the type of amp, what could be expected.

I have this amp for a few weeks and I could not do without.
I play a DeArmond Starfire Special and it was the top.
The sound is warm trs trs.
Impressive dynamics.
The clean sound is really beautiful, although the reverb and vibrato trs is die for.

Like all amps lamps, push the volume that this amp works best.
For cruncher, just turn the volume.

OVERALL OPINION

The only real noticeable difference in this custom amp compared to the standard vibrolux reverb is the Jensen speaker. It will sound better for sure because Jensen speakers are some of the best speakers in the world. You get the same great features as the original.

Fender has really taking the major pice of the market when it comes to clean amps. They have been an empire on guitars as well as high quality and affordable clean amps. This amp like most Fenders has an unbelievable clean tone. Where this amp is highest in tone is from the tremelo and reverb features in the amp. This is a tube buffered reverb which is a little different than a spring reverb. It is not like one is better than the other but just a different spin on the process. I personally like the tube buffered one a little better than the spring reverb. That is just a total matter of taste.

SOUNDS

This amp really needs to be played with a nice Fender Tele Stratocaster or Fender guitar of some sort. The single coil Fender guitars coupled with this amp is a match made is tonal heaven. The tone is so sparkly and chimy with a sweet overtone of clarity and bite. The amp is a not a high gain amp but will take high gain pedals or any pedal for that matter extremely well.

The 10 inch speaker really tighten up the low end of the tone. If you do use a Fender Stratocaster or Fender Telecaster you will feel a difference in these speakers from 12 inch speakers. Not to mention the Jensen speaker which is head and should above the Fender provided eminence that they usually drop in these amps.

OVERALL OPINION


This is a great blues, mild rock, country or pop amp. You will get a solid sounding tone fit for most music that I mentioned and will fit nicely in the recording studio as well.

At new these amps come in at around $ 1200, which isn't a bad price for something that sounds this good. I would recommend anyone who likes tube buffered reverb to get this amp or someone who needs a great clean amp for their recording studio

The Fender Vibrolux Reverb comes in a few different incarnations, but this review is for the original black face model. The picture above I believe is the reissue. Either way, it's a tube amplifier with two separate channels. Each has it's own 1/4" inputs and there are two 10" speakers inside. I don't know what years the original was made, but the one I've used is from the late 1960's.

UTILIZATION

The configuration of the Fender Vibrolux Reverb isn't hard to follow as it's much like many of the other classic Fender amps out there. The first channel just has parameters for volume, bass, and treble control, while the second channel is a bit more in depth, consisting of the same three parameters found on the first channel, but also reverb control and speed and intensity parameters for controlling the on board vibrato. No manual should be necessary...

SOUNDS

The sound of the Fender Vibrolux Reverb is definitely right there in line with the classic Fender tube amp sound. To me, these vintage tube amps from Fender are the best ever made, with the Vibrolux Reverb definitely being up there. The amp is as clean sounding as they come and the reverb and vibrato effects are both top notch and some of the best of their kind. If you've ever heard a Fender tube amp, you most likely know what you're getting here.

OVERALL OPINION

There's absolutely no way you can go wrong with the Fender Vibrolux Reverb! It's simply an amp that sounds that good. I don't know if I'd prefer this to the Fender Twin Reverb I've got at home, but they're certainly in the same ballpark and it really is just a matter of preference at a certain point. I don't know how this would stack up against the reissue, but I'd think the reissue is pretty close. Ain't nothing like the original though...
