Great But Needs More Torque

Stanton Magnetics T.60Published on 03/22/11 at 07:52
The stanton t.60 is a pretty decent direct drive turntable for a beginner learning to spin some vinyl.
I like the size of it as it fits perfectly on my desk with my other set up. The colour is very nice also with the black and grey finish, it has a tracker light and also you can change speeds from 33 rpm to 45 rpm which is all I need really since I have no old albums to play. It comes with a 7 inch adapter circle piece of plastic that you put in the middle of your 7inch records so it spins around perfectly.
It also comes with a standard cartridge and stylus that I still use but I am saving up for a better one since some quality is lost but not a lot to be fair.

The slip mat is pretty horrific that comes with the turntable also as it is very thick but its all about taste really, do not think you will be scratching straight away if you get this and do not have a thinner slip mat.
The one thing that really aggravates me with this turntable is that the torque on the motor is not that great.
It takes just a little too long in my opinion to fully start up and be spinning at full speed which can impact on your beat matching severely in my opinion.
Another down fall about this turntable is that it is made out of plastic so any slight knocks that you may give the desk you are spinning at will cause it to skip which is definitely not something you want.
But for the price I paid for this turntable I must admit it is a great piece of kit to start learning to spin vinyl on but if you had some more money definitely invest in something a little more expensive which is what I am going to in the future.

It is now 7 months that I use the T 60, I also try Numark tt1650 and TT200. For tt1650, I prefer the stanton although the plateau is much lighter but I prefer.
Compare to the TT200 is not at all the same plates especially at the point of the plateau.
To return to the T60 after 7 months of use I am still very happy, perfect value for money.
Also my decks are sometimes pushed to their limits! I mix of hardcore-hardtek have is quite a party with friends, was a generator that shit, his cup 4-5 times a night easy seeing more! mix several types of decks and sometimes they are smashed! She also took a glass of rum in the face .... in short it is not too pampered sometimes

- How long have you use it?

6 months

- What is the particular feature you like best and least?

most: keeping the right arm, the least: the couple

- Have you tried many other models before acqurir?

no, but MK2

- How do you report qualitprix?

trs good but get tired quickly, it's perfect for beginners May I use it for hip hop and scratch requires some practice.

- With the exprience, you do again this choice? ...

Yes no hsiter; Discoveries in the aillant siel 2005 at the European Championship scratch, I am in love with these decks look playschool :-)... …

I use it for a year, and I'm relatively happy.
I scracth above (yes), and it is not the top anyway. But when you get used to, it goes.
Problem is that when I take charge of TTX or other MKII, so I tend to raise the tray as I move better on the T60 lol.

Good value for money, but big problems of the masses to such an extent that I filter all low. The board never Buge, but not be shocked that sinks to a half millimeter, placing his hand on it!

good mix
