USE

the drivers are very stable on pc (vista, xp) and mac.
I used the with Nuendo and Logic.

IMPLEMENTATION

no problems with installation, configuration is a breeze.
jacks speaker outputs monitoring, the séarées headphone input, the ability to listen to the direct or digitized sound, or even a mixture of both are very significant.

NOTICE GLOBAL

For a small budget, it is very bien.Il should be recognized that the built-in preamp is not powerful enough for mobile use outdoors.

c'tait rather allchant with a basic USB connection, easy trimbalable, mini price, no transformer etc etc .... a measurement microphone, a Smaart and forwards guinguant! TOP !!

1/Entré 1 on acoustic guitar, entered 2 for the Shure M58, Denon stereo output in nonitoring:
dynamics in free fall, its metal, saturation, level preamp micro bcp too low .... I soon realized that I had made a big mistake ...

2/INSTALLING software provided by the manufacturer (CubaseLE): If you think Mao in 2014 became friendly and user-frendly on your way ... it is rather a simulation game "I'm sound engineer." Unless you spend hours it's just unusable.

4 / connection on the computer, original driver: latency madness, extreme saturation. After setting the level is better but the dynamic is to cry and just huge latency. Downloading drivers on the manufacturer's website: it's better but still noticeable latency especially the acoustic guitar sounds almost as strong as the monitoring, it lacks level preamp and microphone is worse.

OVERALL OPINION

Installation is no problem: you start taking an USB cable & then you connect it to the PC sound card & also & then its going well: 90/100! very well!
Often a little bored, it's potarts make noise when you decrease the sound, so when you increase!
This is just what the problem!

The Alesis iO 2 is an interface that can be used for your pc or your mac I have used it on both platforms several times and it works great with both and I didn’t have any problems on either system. The interface is very portable and can be taken anywhere, its very small and compact. It is perfect for the person who travels a lot and still wants to do some music while they are gone. It is a 2 channel recording interface, and has a place to put headphones and a place for monitors if you have them or want to use them. So when I was out of my house I would use headphones with the iO 2 and when I was home I could hook up my monitors if I needed to. It records up to 24 bits and will work with pretty much any DAW that you are using on your pc or your mac. I have used it in several different programs and each one of them it worked great in.


UTILIZATION

The quality is great and it has 48 volt phantom power on board, it is also USB powered not fire wire so you will def. be able to use it on your pc. You wont need to plug it into a wall jack for power because the USB port provides the power.

Drivers haven’t been updated since I purchased it, so I am not sure if it has even updated at all.

I had no compatibility issues and the manual was easy to read, though I was just looking at it and didn’t need to use it. No Compatibility issues.

Overall, it’s a handy neat little device that will take care of your recording needs. It was exactly what I needed and I recommend it to a lot of other mobile musicians.

I bought an Alesis iO|26 a couple years ago and after being very happy with it I decided to buy the portable version of it. I mostly bring this interface with me when I’m traveling and want to capture an idea or a weird nature sound. If you a songwriter this can be a great item to own.

You can buy this product for $159, I bought mine for under $100 on a ebay auction.

First of all, I really like the look of this unit. Very simple, clean and modern. Knobs are firm and precise, the XRL and ¼ input make sound capturing easier, since you can just plug in your guitar and record (I usually use a peace of software, like Guitar Rig, to simulate amps and room reverberation). The two 1/4 inserts also facilitates signal processing. I also love how it comes with a led input level indicator.

The only defect is sometimes you have to give all the juice to record a decent strong signal on your DAW. It happens every time I record my bass direct.

Very well built interface, I have it for awhile now, it went through a lot already and still work as new. Here are some of its features:

I wanted my interface for recording Acoustic Guitar / Vocals / Bass, which it does perfectly. I also use at MIDI with an old Yamaha Clavinova and I've had no worries.

However, I just put myself on bass and then, using a DI and / or pre-amp is necessary.

UTILIZATION

No installation problems on XP and 7, it is recognized immediately. The io / 2 comes with Cubase LE 4, which enough for me. It is then possible to record two tracks simultaneously.

There is a lag time if you listen at the same time we record (this disables Cubase). But after no problems on the recorded track.

In these prices the same time hard to beat for a sound card first. To summarize this card is good if we start to troubleshoot or in mobile config converters are not very good, if I were to redo this choice is rabbatre in a higher price range.

I bought it for my little homestudio, to sound with Ableton Controller and noon. Since I moved to Seven, I have no compatibility problems. I do not use the tracks for recording microphone or instruments.

Trs simple installation.
This sound card is simple and effective, but be aware some default:
1) To use it you must use Asio Asio4All. For the use of Ableton in asio, I have to cut any other software or a window with streaming audio on my PC.
2) Can not record sound internally on my PC. For example, if I want to record sound from a movie or a web page with a recording software (magntophone, SoundForge ...) it is not possible.

Use for about 4 months without problems, before that I test the M audio fast track, and even before that an Edirol something. I find both less convenient than IO2 although in practice the performances are equal.
What I find most convenient: the mix knob USB / direct easily adjusts the volume output when recording without affecting volumes, such as the guitar comes out Live monitoring speakers and midi sounds coming out via usb ..

I use it to record the guitars and keyboards with Cubase under Windows XP (Acer body double clocked at 1.6 Ghz ... it's not huge)
