Korg Triton Extreme 61 is top of the range musical instrument with lots of features and incredible sounds. Valued very highly by musicians all over the world.

UTILIZATION

I have it for a week now so I tried to edit a few sounds and is fairly easy to create a sound it would suit you. You learn by keep trying everyday and master the Triton Extreme.
The Memory card, usb and memory upgradable is a big plus on the Extreme.

SOUNDS

The effects on it are great especially with the valve power.
It can produce a sound that any latest keyboard even like the korg Pa3x would be jelous of.
The valve really gets the best sound out of it, you can hear the difference when that kicks in. The best sound quality on any keyboardyou will find for the price of today.
Will not be dissapointed.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall opinion a great piece of music equipment. Second hand was my best option.
I got it just two days ago but i have played on it before.
The only problem is the weight,it weighs a ton.
Any musician would appreciate the quality of the Triton Extreme.
When it comes to sound its the best and the touchview screen is an advantage even though I think they could have done a better job and made it a colour screen like the Korg PA1X.
The outputs are ok, many options on the Triton Extreme.
I am very pleased with it. A great piece of equipment and every musician I talked to before i got it gave me a top review for it. Highly valued among musicians.

The Triton extreme 61 is a very powerful workstation, I remember when it came out and I got my hands on it I was shocked on how “perfect” it was. Out side of some of the sounds and presets I didn’t have a simple complaint about it. It is a powerful machine that can power your whole studio.


UTILIZATION

It took some time to get used to it. It wasn’t easy, for some reason some of the options and menu’s could have been laid out a little different to make it easier and quicker to use. Seems like they didn’t follow the model from previous Triton boards and created a different path for the Extreme. I had to use the manual several times, actually almost every time for over a month I needed to crack that manual open for something different each time but basically it was for something in the menu that I couldn’t find and didn’t feel like playing hide and seek with it till I found it.


SOUNDS

The sounds are really good, some of the things that really frustrated me on some of the presets was some of them just had to many effects already on them. I don’t like a bunch of effects on presets because it sort of turns me off to it . I like to hear them dry then work my way up with reverb and everything. If I go to use a synth that is really spacey and has a lot of reverb I could actually pass it and skip to another one when in reality that could be a great synth to use if I would have heard it with less reverb.


OVERALL OPINION

Overall, one of the best boards on the market or atleast it was back in 07 or 08. I had a lot of good times with it while I had it, since I have traded it back in for other gear.

For those like me who is accustomed to the logic Korg, this is very simple ... The same logic from the M1, the contribution of the touch screen making things even easier ... Korg sound, we like it or not, but the signature sound of the brand is present. The acoustic sounds are correct, the competition is doing better now, but it's still usable. The beast is still outstanding on the organ, and his forte is the synthetic sounds ... This is a SYNTHESIZER friends, is made to produce sounds that do not exist in the world of "traditional" instruments ... HI synthesis is powerful for three reasons:
- The number of basic waveforms (PCM samples ...) is huge (one thousand I think ...)
- Filters are finally live up (Much better than M1, but it was 24 years old ...)

OVERALL OPINION

I ran into him several times since its release in 2004 I think. This is the most successful of the Triton series, with input from the lamp, the machine takes a grain that I had not heard from the mythical JX8P, Juno 60, Polysix ... For this machine knows recreate this kind of warm sound, it comes close to perfection, at present, of what I know, for purely synthetic sounds, there is no better ... for the price in time, because I just tested the Kronos, the price is not the same, but the sonic purity is staggering ... The Triton Extreme sounds "dirty" side, but it has a grain of her just waiting to be revealed ...

For "pianist / keyboard" stage, a set Trion extreme + Korg SV1 (piano) is formidable. The pianos, rhodes, wurli, strings on the SV1, everything pads, leads, brass and even on the Triton, it kills a formidable job. Truly effective on a machine she can do.

What is much better in cetter version is that you can use Microdrives, USB keys (all times limited by USB 1.0) or USB external hard drives ..
Every time I recommend the Microdrive or Mediadrive (which is a bit cheaper), and especially can record 16 bit 48kHz audio files, you can not do through the usb!

We can connect the Korg to a PC via USB for example accder files that are on the Microdrive, super convenient you can do on their PC and samples as a TRANSFR via USB cable

UTILIZATION

I find it enjoyable to use, convenient menus (thanks to touch screen), super intuitive

SOUNDS

I produce Rap, and House and other driver ... trs and I am happy with the possibility of samples will integrate, if I need a new sound in 5 minutes it's done.

Synthtiseur gives the sounds of super quality

OVERALL OPINION

It is an expensive device ... 2500 but it's worth, not a bug ever, super reliable and super dtail important, the keyboard's super enjoyable to the touch

UTILIZATION

This is the highlight of this machine: ergonomics. The edition of the sounds is very simple via the touch screen, and I do my presets scne in the blink of an eye. The manual is clear when you need. Note that I use basically the program mode, combi, rarely the sequencer and sampler ever.

SOUNDS

So is the more complicated: The sounds of Manir gnrale trs are good. The organs (the fire cx-3) are well-trs, trs good electric pianos. The acoustic pianos, blah, but it's not new to Korg.
The highlight: tablecloths, organs, synthetic sounds, and some trs good brass sounds, which once reworked trs going well in the mix.

My biggest complaint concerns the bass sounds: not enough ralistes too synthetic at all, lack of roundness (acoustic as electric).

Otherwise the lamp amne a real plus.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it on intensment scne for 8 months. I am generally happy. If the pattern are silent as ergonomic as the Triton, I would change right away!
I'm in a band as a trio www.goodvibeslesite.com (http://www.goodvibeslesite.com) o I low. As the directory is trs East 70's 80's, needless to say that the bass is super important, and I'm from. But I do all my presets, so I do not (yet) have the courage to move on the ground are.
However, for typical synthetic sounds (lead, brass, pad) I am happy with the korg trs. Ergonomics is gniale.

A dtail important instrument sounds trs good "noyquot; in the mix. It is - to say, ideal for scne. BUT ... we are all three at the ear -monitor, and the sound is largely DEFINITIONS suprieur a poor Wadge. However, this fawn all default to happen in a mix of traditional front and back become obvious.
If I had to change, I would take the ground, but I would lose in the organ.

What I like most: usability and its relationship qualitprix unbeatable. The least you understood: the electric bass sounds.

Note that I do not use any of the sounds of piano and rhodes, for my newt has over a rd700sx with SRX-12.

I'm loving the sequencer. Sampling is a breeze. The Compact Flash storage is a beautiful thing, and makes transitioning WAV files to and from the computer a snap.

Pretty straight forward, and user-friendly. Huge manual to go through, and it's worth it if you choose to. You will have to if you want to get the most out of your purchase.

Feels a little cheap in the keys area. Holding up fine though. I may be nit-picking here.

SOUNDS

Very good sounds in there. Many to choose from between Combis and Programs. Some are a little too synthy.

The features are straight, good sequencer,easy arranging, etc., the insert effects are powerful, but when u use em it kind of alters the whole sound and feel of the song a little, if you have the producers ear, you'll know what im talkin' about. The step recorder needs more improvement because of the simple fact it doesn't use settings, every sound you play comes out at about a velocity of 64 and it sounds really low especially for those intricate drum sound. that is a major downfall.

UTILIZATION

Its easy to use; took me a couple weeks to get the fullness of the basics and up to a couple of months later I was still learning. I got it in March 05' and between then and now I made up to 30-50 beats; some full and some 8 bars. But now I have the MV-8000 to go with it makes those drum patterns easier to work with, but the OS (operating system) needs more improvement. The MIDI syncing is a bitch sometimes; its easy. but sometimes it just keeps switching the sounds. very annoying .

It has a cool design. The body is easily scratched. The OS gotcouple glitches. but thats with most electronic devices. thats wut makes business keep cycling in this industry improvement and upgrade. It really stands out in appearance.

SOUNDS

The sound quality is good, its official. The sounds have a good body on em'....But the sounds could have been more realistic. Over 8 hours of sound. NO BS!!!!

OVERALL OPINION

I love it I wouldn't trade it for nothin, keep every thing and expand (more keyboards, modules, Beat machines).

It would be nice if the triton had built in drum pads, as far anything else goes though I dont think it lacks very much. I would be more comfortable if the screen tilted. It sits at a uncomfortable angle, you have to be in a "piano playing position during use." The valve force tube will definately change your sounds, and it helps boost the presumed thin sounds made by korg. The sequencer is extremely to use when you figure it out, finishing your songs takes a while to get used to though. The keys feel professional, the screen is easy to read, the touch-screen makes the process extremely fast. I would have to say the Triton is ahead of the pack when it comes to features.

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use, it took me about half a year and a dvd tutorial to learn everything but once you learn it, it is almost impossible to forget how to do something. it will become natural to you if you use it for a while. The Operating System is solid, and is easy to understand, a little easier than I initially thought.

I take good care of mine, I was actually afraid of getting too rough with it at first because I thought I would mess something up. Its well built I guess, half of it's plastic. It may not be the best built workstation, i bet the roland and yamaha are more sturdy,

SOUNDS

I think to really expresss yourself well with the triton you have to use effects and other parameters, the sounds you get when its fresh out the box didn't impress me very much at all, only the programs and combis that korg personally made sounded good to me, it is possible for the user to make "programs and combis" by mixing different sounds together and assigning oscillators to the sounds. It is possible to make thousands of new sounds with this keyboard, the presets are only the beginning. With the optional Moss Board you get 13 more oscillators. They will help you customize your keyboard to a further extent of its competitors.

OVERALL OPINION

I love it, if you feel like expressing yourself this machine will work with you. Most of the time I find myself not actually making beats but just playing the keys. I try to practice everyday, and when it comes time to record, my practice pays off.

I would have to say that not having assignable pads is definitely a down side to this machine. The touch screen is a plus for navigating through the features of this workstation.

UTILIZATION

The Triton Extreme is not terribly hard to use, but once you learn the features and how to access and utilize them, the triton is a great asset to any songwriter in many genres of music.

SOUNDS

The Sounds on the Triton Extreme are incredible.

OVERALL OPINION

I take extremely good care of mine because it is a huge part of my arsenal of equipment I use for writing beats. I have never had any durability issues with the triton.

The triton has definitely helped add and develop my sound as a producer and songwriter. For that, I can say that I am lost with out it.
