Mackie DL1608

The (DL Series) DL1608 is a digital mixer made by Mackie; it has 16 Onyx preamps and 24 bit converters. You can even sync it up with 1 to 10 different iPad through a wireless connection. We have used plenty of different mixers from Studio Live mixers to other Mackie and Allen and Heath mixers. But they preamps on the DL1608 are some of the best that I have ever owned.

UTILIZATION

The built in DSP on the DL1608 will give you compression and some really good reverb to work with. Using your iPad with the DL1608 (wirelessly) is a great option because it will allow you to control your mixes effortlessly. The DL1608 has 6 different auxiliary sends and you can also use audio from any Apple App that you may use.

SOUNDS

The DL1608 is easy to use and even easier to set up. One the reason why we chose to use this mixer recently is because how portable and easy it is to work with. It was a huge plus that the preamps where going to be that quiet and good. The sound quality is clean and clear and I have not heard any other mixers sound as good as this one does that has similar specs.

OVERALL OPINION

You can rack the DL1608 because they make a rack kit for it, but we do are not worried about racking it (at least for now anyways). The DL1608 has 2 main outputs and there is switchable phantom power for each channel. The DL1608 is well made, the knobs have a very nice feel to them and they seem to be of the quality on some really good expensive mixing boards.
If you are not looking to use your iPad with this mixer than I would not buy it. You almost have to have an iPad and do a lot of work from your iPad with this mixer so if you don’t have one it is pointless to get the DL1608.

Compact console built around a ipad, 17 channels (16 + ipad), 8 to, general power supply 48v (damage), XLR and jack inputs but no RCA for ancillary systems, it has everything a large and well more !!!!
Attention iPad 3 required under penalty to pay an additional dock for the latest iPad.
A 16 channels in such a volume, it is the foot to move in presta presta.
Need immersion blender in the public? it is the ideal tool with all the features at hand (this is not a partial offset, but total control).

UTILIZATION

Nothing to say about this console in sound reproduction especially as it has a whole bunch of filters and équalizeurs whose only fault is to occupy the curiosity and fascination of the operator "fiddles" instead of playing his instrument (in the absence of sound engineer).

OVERALL OPINION

Acquired in September, she turns every day. Accustomed to more traditional consoles, it's a gamble on technology that I did (after extensive testing in auditoriums).
Attention Apple prides itself on having no Bug, in fact there is one: the famous canal 17 and itune bugger sometimes and cause breath and blocking the volume of ipad. It is therefore necessary to prefer assigning a normal way rather than the entrance channel 17. Support contacted problem taken care of, but we will say that channel 17 was only the icing on the cake shriveled, which does not prevent the rest of function.

Ahh ergonomic touch pads, for me happiness (quibble a bit, it is a bit tight for the 31 bands!)

I said great, we focus remains in material less than € 1,000, however I made a better sound with my 01V96i, without breath or exaggerated coloring and without breaking my back, and then more multi-pair , ipad moves so easily!

OVERALL OPINION

Perfect for me!

This is 15 days and I'm already served for 6 prestas, I went through a lot of consoles, analog, digital, vintage etc ..... dung legendary models that do not blush, it must still put in his place prestas small: there are only 16 in and I did not see a way to make it evolve. The sound is royal on all systems that I could submit (HK, Mach, Yamaha, Jbl).

The must is the management ipad wifi more multi-pair, returns management beside the zicos, 31 bands on all outputs, widely used effects (nice little detail: the tap tempo delay accessed with a simple finger swipe!).

A lil rant still against the fact that there is no Android version of the App MyFader, everybody does not have an iPhone or an iPad!!

You would have understood: I love this little console (even if I keep the 01V96i for prestas most important)

I have a little experience and yes I remake this choice without any hesitation

I ipad 2 ipad1 which dedicated this also explains my confidence, because in fact, if the ipad fails, or discharge is panic, stand-alone was nothing more access a part in the gains (it's still playable, I tried!)
