As my prdcesseurs (see below) are quite widely Describes the CHARACTERISTICS, I do not m'tendrai both the capabilities of the machine.

I bought this box of race OCCAZ for an excellent price and a silent dja quip Map ADAT I / O (which I use at all for the time of Also, I sell it ... for the fans ...)

Not much to add except that this type of workstation is very well together as skillfully pens and especially dynamically (thank you, thank faders motoriss) mixer, recorder, effects returns ... etc..

Always time for my Roland, I used a table Eurorack 2642A (Phantom power supply, good pre-amps, Eq 4 DAGE) to handle input signals before the multitrack.

OVERALL OPINION

I use this combined technology for 6 weeks and my fun is over (despite BMOL deficits above) and I immediately find a little more each time (this thanks also communities s users as https://www.socialentropy.com/aw4416 or http://www.aw4416user.info).

What I like most about this machine is the logic gnrale (from my point of view, everything is square in the approach except for two or three tricks), and ergonomics .
What I like least for the moment is crystallized by BMOL + high deficits.

All dpart, I was working on a PC with Cakewalk and a Roland VS 840 GX 4416 and finally the AW!

Ergonomics of the simplest. An extremely well thought out machine. all the paramtres (eq, compress, etc. ..) tracks is directly accessible by buttons comfortable. If you have never worked on a console numrique, I recommend reading the manual (very clear and in French). Then the grip takes a few hours. The routing is truly magical and flexible. I use this machine for 3 years and I must say it is an example of stability. Its simplicity and ergonomics being its greatest assets. A transparent sound. Its weak point is the edition. 16 tracks, Bits 16-24 / 44.1-48 kHz.
Note that it is a 16-track, even 24/48, in contrast to other models that rduisent by half the tracks available for reading when we increase the bit rate!
60mm faders motoriss, super ractifs. This machine is very enjoyable dcidment handle. Screen rtro light which does not increase its budget ophthalmologist. The must: a small panel VU meters + locate available permancence: no need to press 150 buttons to see the signal level.

The routing is a little ... Drout at first, but is much better when we realized that the mix of tables and sections MTR compltement are separated. Once acquired the operation (allow an hour to teach 90% of the functions of the machine - it is worse), the basic principle is "everything is routable everywhere."

There are six outputs and 8 inputs (which can pass 24 with optional cards), only one pair of XLR but the card still MYxxx 4 supplmentaires you provide, nothing to rler therefore (all the cards cotent not a look - the unit of 300 Euro.

Full automation, anything. Full 4-band EQ Settings, trs effective on all inputs and / or 16 tracks on the MTR. And more: a compressor on all inputs and the 16 tracks on the MTR. A very useful gift that "You Save" magrichon a bit multi-effects.

The console is a little dated (2002 to head), but the silent era really ultra complte. Today it lacks a USB port and the possibility of making 96Khz, but ...

Manuel super clear.
Configuration gnrale super simple (one branch, one road and roll youth).

It's great, all signals that come in come out enhanced. I also had a Motu 828 mkIII and I sold it to stop working with a computer. The sound of the AW4416 is excellent. I will only add a TC Electronic Finalizer to master my mixes. I have a DMP3 external preamp for my guitar and my bass. The result is perfect!

The dynamic range is perfectly reproduced, much better than with a PC.

It might offer less possibilities, but do you really need everything else when you hear what people like Vangelis or Pink Floyd made in the past with tapes they had to cut with scissors?

It depends of what for you want to use this machine; if you want to use it like a stand alone gear to record, mix and burn, it's perfect if you want to use it like a mixer, and have the possibilitie to route many output signals, it' a little hard; you just have 4 output and the stero monitor output; if you want more, you've to buy optional in or output boards, anologic or numeric another option is the mastering fx card( with waves fx ); but i can't say anything on it, i didn t tried it

it seems to be ok; mine is a second hand ( it just worked for one song, 2 years ago) , and it seems to be a new one; i hope it will dure a long time

Great, nothing to compare with the 01v great pre amps, great eq, very correct fx; big number of tracks (16 tracks with 8 virtuals one each) the first try it, i just had one roland mc505 (great machine,needing work too sound good); it 's been so easy to record pattern with midi sync. Eq are very great , and automix function so easy to use 3 hours later, a song was borned from only one pattern; to really test the function , i just recorded 5 measures, and tried the parts edit function ( copy, trim, pitch...) and the result was very positive; copy, are perfect, no cracks, no little bad noises; i copied perhaps 15 times the same 4 measures for each sounds from the pattern; result: no desync beetxen the tracks, just perfect sync during all the 15 copies i tried too the sampling pad; it works good, no particular problems (you can have 2 * heigt sample pads banks, with its own sequencer. i tested it totaly, with burning my mix; everithings 's been all right; in 4 hours, i recorded, mixed and 'masterised' and burned the song on cd. fist taste was the good one; it's a good machine, that i don't want to be separated now!!

OVERALL OPINION

When i bought it, i wanted to really try it, so i took it in my room; it stayed there for three weeks, and i falled in love with it! my girl friend is jealous now!! seriously, i really like it because for the moment i really didn t had a deception with it
