I bought Thomann in March 2008 and use it for more than 6 years now.

I had played and dozens of kits before and frankly it's really fire the drums!

Maple Kit, Easy to adjust, great look, great sound.

I took a kit: 20 "10" 12 "14" 14 "CX Blue Onyx and more to have a pure sound it a great mouth!

I paid 880 euros with hardwares DW, 2 cymbal stands (including 1 pole), hi-hat stand, snare stand and bass drum pedal single and all for that price ... I do not regret .

If I had to buy a I would resume the same.

    Indispensable

I've had it for eight months and have had 120 or 130 kits previously, but I would buy it again without hesitation. I couldn't get a 20" kick, which is a pity. I dream of a CX jazzette (8", 10", 12", 14", 18").

The drums resemble very much DW, the hardware is superb, the finish spotless and, to put the cherry on the cake, it adjusts automatically. I give it a 9 because not enough time has gone by to see what happens with rust, ungluing, warping, bubbling, chips and cracks, but otherwise it is awesome.

For me the value for money is incredible. A new kit (10", 12", 14", 22", 14"x5,5" snare, in blue Onyx) with original heads, a pack of Meinl MCS cymbals, a pack of drum mutes, drum book, d…

    Pacific CX Series

I Bought This Kit At Guitar Center. Total I Paid 700 Plus Tax.

I absolutely love the quality this kit has. DW has finally made a kit that is both affordable and an incredibly good value. The kits Toms tune very easily and sound amazing. I'm using Aquarian Performance 2 Heads On All The Toms. The Bass drum has good punch and incredibly warm as are all the toms. I'm using the Evans E.M.A.D. while being a little on the expensive side is worth it's weight in gold.

My only complaint is the snare drum. Maybe it's because i'm not used to playing wood snares. The snare has a good punch but a little to much ring after the initial "crack".

Incredible Value Incredible Sound Aboslutly a must have if your on a budget!!!

(1390 with accessories has Baguetterie) drumkit and a manufactured "Ensenada Baja" in Mxique, California at the border (the change of drumkit made in China or Taiwan).

Hi everybody, I have been playing a PDP CX in WHITE ONYX for four months now and I must say that I'm satisfied with it. What I like most about these drums is the maple sound. This type of wood in this configuration provides a huge sound projection, while the note played is always smooth. Moreover, it has this nice tone that makes it special or maybe it's the maple. I was just disappointed by the hardware. The screw threads for the tuners are pretty average. Before this one, I had the opportunity to test my first drum kit (yamaha stage custom) and then a PEARL MMX, Yamaha Mapple Custom.... But this is the one that convinced me, in terms of budget but, especially, in terms of sound. Unbeatabl…

If I had to resell my CX, it would be to buy the exact same series but with better hardware.

I use these drums since November 2005.
They are impressively versatile, very easy to set up. The maple model really seduced me. It comes with Remo Emperor on top and Remo Ambassador on the bottom. It is downright awesome! I opted for a Fusion setup: 22" kick, 10", 12", 14", and 16" toms. And I can't say anything about the snare because I use my Pearl free floating copper snare.

In short, a very good product with a price tag that dwarfs the competition (6 maple drums + accessories + 8 heads for $1900)

Do note however I had a small threading problem with one of the bass tom lugs (nothing that a bit of oil couldn't fix). I think the hardware and the embossed hoops aren't worthy of DW!

Drum kit supplied with the accessories from the 900 series: High end, so no complaints.

In comparison to the drums I've used until now (tama rockstar, premier XPK), it's like night and day. I have gone from a soft to a pro sound, even without exploiting all the options available.

In conclusion, I would buy them again without hesitation. I studied the subject for quite some time and don't regret at all having chosen Pacific Drums!

    Best Kit for the Money!!

The PDP Pacific by DW CX Drums Include:

    - All-maple shells
    - True-Pitch tuning
    - STM Pro tom mounts
    - F.A.S.T tom sizes
    - Wrap finishes
    - Matching bass drum hoops
    - Remo heads

First off, I will say that I got a SMOKING deal on this set, however, I would be willing to pay 2 to 3 times as much for it, after hearing it.

My set is the fusion configuration in Royal Onyx with 10x8" & 12x9" rack toms (I've also added an 8x7" tom), 14x12" floor tom, 22x18" kick and a 14x5" snare. I've been wanting one of these sets for years, and I finally got the chance to pick one up for an amazing price, and I'm glad I did! The craftsmanship on these drums are great, it's no wonder DW discontinued them!

I've got Evans G1s on the bottom and G2s on the top and these toms sound HUGE! They are full of life and nicely balanced and pack a big punch. Tuned low or high, the toms sound great! In a blind test, with a more expensive DW set, I'm willing to bet that many people won't be able to tell the difference.

The kick drum is an absolutely monster! I've got an Aquarian Super Kick II on the batter head with a Remo Falam Slam Pad on it, and the original head on the resonant side, cut with a port in it, and WOW does this kick deliver! Most metal drummers trigger their drum kick sound, which I'd thought of doing before... but the sound of this drum is PERFECT how it is, and I don't want to cut it out of my sound signal. The kick has the perfect harmony of a deep, rich tone, and a nice click that cuts through nicely live.

The snare is gorgeous - woody and organic sounding with a huge tuning range. I've currently got it loaded with an Evans Hazy 300 on the snare side and a Genera Dry HD on the top batter. This is the first wood snare drum I've ever played that does require muffling to get rid of the annoying ring on it. The Genera Dry HD head chokes the ring out of it nicely, while still retaining its tone. I tune this baby fairly high (with a DrumDial - 70 on the resonant head, 85 on the batter), and it sounds great! My only complaint is, I wish it had a bit more "pop" to it. The snare, even when set ultra tight, still resonates a bit too much for my liking, but in a mix, you won't notice it and it sounds full and sits in the mix perfectly, not too overbearing or too subtle. Great dynamics as well!

Before this kit, I actually owned a Tama Starclassic Performer 5-piece kit (birch) in the rock sizes (14" snare, 12 & 13" rack toms, 16" floor tom, 22x16" bass), and these PDPs sound BETTER! The Tamas sounded great, don't get me wrong, but they suffered from a lot of boominess, and were pretty sterile. These PDPs sound great for everything! I would definitely recommend these to anyone, beginner to professional, jazz to metal; these drums sound excellent, especially for the price.
