Magix Music Studio 2004 was one of the first programs that I have used outside of FL Studio. I can say Im really not a fan of it if you are wanted to do more complex stuff. Magix Music Studio will work great for you if you want to keep it basic or maybe just some quick demo type of stuff. But it has no where near the capabilities that all the other softwares on the market offer. But what can you expect for 60 bucks.

You really wont find any other software that can make tracks as easy as Magix though. I mean, you can simply press record and that’s it. Nothing fancy or hard to understand, you wont even need the manual. I don’t even remember opening the manual up after using this program. I no longer use it though and probably never will again. But I recommend this to any younger kids looking to record some songs from home. It will be extremely easy to use and will plan the seed to start growing musically and understanding basic software DAW functions.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Don’t try to do to much in this program, you can not mix or master your tracks. Don’t try eq or any type of compression. Its just not there with Magix, I don’t think it was mad for that. It is a bottom line software that is good just for recording. So if you are on a budget and need something to record for cheap go with this. Otherwise if you can save up a little more money and a higher end DAW that can do a little more.


OVERALL OPINION

But for the price and functionality of this software you really cant beat it, just 60 bucks to have a home recording studio. You will be well on your way to understand how computer based recording works with this software but you will need to upgrade almost immediately if you want to take your music to the next level.

Implementation: installation without problems, but I said that I had no other CAM software on the PC (a laptop with a novation Speedio). (Another installation on a second pc has caused me some difficulties in MIDI, but I think it was mostly the sound card)

To configure the dpart, is simple, the default rglages agree convincing beginners, getting to know little bit, you can tweak, and without knowing it too.

The manual provides the foundation for really beginners, and some useful tips trs. The bulk is in the MIDI (I only use the personal audio), there tutorials that I did not test (a little chi ** ts).
The grip is super simple, even for an ultra beginners, and if you have a little touch this kind of software is really a breeze.

The logieil works perfectly. I had 512 RAM in dpart, and this is sufficient to MMS2004, but I do a lot of other things with my PC, and above all I record a demo with my band, so I doubled my RAM , not to take risks (I'm big fan of mixing effects, and eat a lot)

I have no delay (when I think back to the logic audio!) Upon registration, all done in real time, even with a lot (a lot) of tracks.

The only crashes are due to some plug-in

OVERALL OPINION

This will make six months I have bought completely by chance, the description on the package, the price (less than 50 euros) and my sleepless nights (because of Logic Audio), I have not h sit ... I tried the same night and since then no problem.

In my case, it will allow me to give life a proposed model, A Z. Recording, mixing, "mastering", burning the CD cover, with a simplicity and quality dconcertante enough for the price.

I have been out (on the advice of Musicrun mag), I liked the interface of the audio studio (Samplitude). I even was able to make the interface pourave MIDI studio (a logic antdiluvien), but I can not work with ... still in midi pure, I can do something. but if I want to put audio studio in the south, just to make a mock-pr .... Well, I can not ...

I will not repeat that choice. Since I am a registered user of Tracktion (which gre perfect 32-bit, among other things), but I always look for a twelve o'clock squenceur worthy of the name.

I used it for a year and a half to June 2005.
What is nice is audio studio lot is fairly intuitive, with the possibility of effects in two different ways (because real-time reading or destructive editing).
We are satisfied with the effect when one arrives in the world of sequencers ... there are plenty! And then you can always add vst effects. But then the range of possibilities is still much narrower than in Cubase SE. Besides the recording resolution at 16 bits. The vocoder is not bad actually be reconaitre. The removal of noises is not bad either, especially when no sound card top.

MIDI sequencer is not far from catastrophic. Absolutely not intuitive, and as mentioned it is independent of the audio sequencer. It's really big downside to this app.

I'm still glad I bought for the price, this is a good choice for entering the world of sequencers. Because start directly with Cubase, it is clearly the galley. I do not regret my choice at the time.

Finally, if you choose, it's for the audio sequencer! noon, forget it.

Not very big on the features. Deluxe does have a good effects rack though. I use it to mix finished projects. It has everything that i need, so i cant say that anything is missing. You can download vst effects and use them through the mixer. One effect you do need to go out and find is a stereo enhancer, because the one they use is crap.

Price paid: 69.99 USD

Music Maker 2004 Deluxe is the easiest thing i have ever used to make tracks with. The interface allows you to get work done very quickly. You arn't clicking on this and that all the time (not to say that you don't have options). Only drawback is that you cant import wav files into the samplers. Whenever I need something custom made (particularly a bass line), i have to open fl studio, create it there, and import it to my arrangement. Doing this is very easy though, no hassles at all. I would recommend you to download some better effects to really enhance your finished products, as the ones included are okay, but are not as strong.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

The sound quality varies on your soundcard. I can tell a difference between using it on my moms laptop and my Pc (both dell). The sounds within are okay for beginners. A draw back i found though after i gained experience and started using fruity loops was that you cant really import waves.

The only problem I have when using Music Maker is sometimes (rarely) I will drag the sampler into the arrangement area, and it will close down, with windows showing the error message. Other than that, I have no probs.

OVERALL OPINION

I really am glad that I started out with this program because of its easy use for begginers and other levels of knowledge on music production. I just click the icon on my desktop, and i'm off producing. With Music Maker 2004 Deluxe, you truly only limit yourself to what you can do. Like with other programs, dig deep and see what you can find by clicking menus, buttons, etc. Its very easy to master the effects rack, mixer, and the shortcut buttons which speeds up the button clicking time, and lets you stay focused on using your song. To me, this program is a great buy for new producers, but strong enough to hang with more talented producers with the right know-how and tips.
