O There are 32 tracks to record the DLIR, a virtual mixer in real time, and the possibility to edit (just) the internal sounds.

    UTILIZATION

Easy to use, lots of buttons in front faade to strum his own way - like a magntophone, plus an alpha-dial, two Controller, and a standard LCD screen trs agr able. The bad thing: pass 50,000 registered notes, the processor is slow. The ergonomics are excellent.

    SOUNDS

The sounds are pure GM Yamaha - practices to be truly effective default. Let's say, a certain standard of quality required, those of the QY 700 dcevront some purists - but everyone can not afford a Triton, s'pas! The effects section is surprising to efficiency.

    OVERALL OPINION

A beautiful trs sequencer. Trs enjoyable to use and a formidable efficiency. This instrument does remarkably well thought out. In addition, unlike computers, the QY 700 takes up less space, less noise ... and does not crash ever.

Argh, no opinion on my sequencer !!?!?
    Then, the characteristics:
    This sequencer expander
    -1 Stereo output
-2 In / out MIDI for a total of 32 voices (quiet)
    -A very wide screen lcd
    -1 Footswitch
    -1 Headphone jack
The mini-keyboard is quite handy, but it wears out, after five years, we find ourselves trying to cram like crazy on the key of C in order to listen to the sample that has just returned. It's expensive to change it. Bah, I took a master keyboard.
Same for the wheel-data, it wears (intensive anyway). Too bad, I use the plus / minus. Frankly, it's not annoying.
The rest is in the picture
    Here, everything you need.
For sounds, effects, uh, we'll talk later.

The rest is in the picture
    Here, everything you need.
For sounds, effects, uh, we'll talk later.

    UTILIZATION

The sequencer is an absolute simplicity, the control surface is very well thought out. Everything at hand. it goes very quickly.

It has two modes: pattern and song. The song is not a mode of stacking pattern, we construct a piece of a sudden copy (key "job", you type "11" for the sub-menu copy, "copy de1.1 on the track to 4.4 x (on which one is already wedged anyway, no need to select), and that's it) and delete (same principle).

The step is nickel. Galley is not to set a snare curly, and it rings.

The song mode also allows to link the song with a pattern, it makes us a total of 48 tracks. Personally, I have not yet needed.

The manual is good, no more, but I just forgot.
At noon on pc? arf ... I tried even persisted, but the ease of use, be, is not the same, nan.

We have twenty pieces kept in permanent memory, and that's good. on the other hand, when it is overloaded, the qy 700 tends to slow down a little (operations, eh, not his). Okay okay.

That said, there are flats compared to Cubase SX: even by coupling stepping over the edit mode the qy 700 is less refined. What is really missing? Edition effective (or rather precise) for movements of filters, volume, pan etc ... There is a little hassle, must repeat the movements of pitch bend and modulation before launching.

Other than that, it is the foot.

    SOUNDS

Then the expander side, I would be short, it is to forget. GM instead of the old mold, it serves well as a notepad to remember a little beat / bass or chord progression, but that's it. The stereo outputs are used primarily for the metronome or to give it.

At least one or two synth sounds or save battery? yes ... no ...?
    bah ...

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for five years, I will always, it moves me. If it snaps, I repeat one another.

I know the mpc sequencer, which is good, yeah yeah, but I prefer this one, that of Roland groovebox, but we can not compare the song mode is a stacking pattern (hell) .
As for the PC, all those clicks, double clicks, sub menus under sub menus, dialogs, confirmation makes me sick.

I did not think to look at his side before writing, but personal, to use the hypothesis, I will be ready hand ay 400 or 500E (I think I'd pay 3000 or 4000F).

In the end, a mere machine, almost as obvious and "natural" a piano or drums. ON, and go. The only thing regrettable is the edition of the movements of calves, but it's no big deal, it comes out anyway (even if the automation rebosser pc if we look for the absolute accuracy).

    110 000 notes 20 songs maximum, 64 styles and 3876 pre-programmed phrases.

    UTILIZATION

It is necessary to enter the world QY (found for Qy QY 70 and 100). The manual is initially necessary to the acquisition of the first automation. Yamaha indicutable logic and past the first moments (short) of ownership, the rest seems a cheeky clear. There are points in common with software sequencers.
Usuellles functions are easily accessible and the interface, such as orders, very well thought out. Moreover, this model has a control surface (wide screen) and comfortable working. Type PC keyboard keys are nice and solid.
The manual is well done with the first part of the synthetic approach and dedicated chapters where detail is required. Note a glossary and an index useful end.
Styles are available (like the manual in French) on the yamaha site and yamahasynth.com. I also found a translation of the QY70 styles for the 700.
The advantage is that you can also create styles by drawing his phrases into existing songs (midi) or by returning phrases (I'm thinking patterns batteries) via PC or floppy disk. In short, an open operation that allows to create really.
To add, this machine does not crash ever.

    SOUNDS

For my part, I find the sound excellent. After the first disappointment at first, because, perhaps, the output gain is a bit tight and sound, flat, do not reach their full potential, I found sounds rich, editable, and which with a little work, modeled with mixed effects, well, providing colorful and interesting plot. I use these sounds (lots of electric pianos, bass and strings) with those of a Triton and electric instruments (guitar, bass guitar).
I love also the drum kits that remain strong and effective.
I use the QY700 with a master keyboard, the Korg Triton and a PC. The 4 MIDI allow flexibility noon.
I think they are suitable for all styles of music. The rest is a matter of choice and ... work.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 10 years. I regret this unit memory a bit limited at times and Quon can use it on batteries (they always demand more ...).
I had previously used a QX5 (the Tertiary), a QY10 and QY70. This is the most complete and most effective for me. It was quite expensive at the time but is now found between 300 and 400 €.
This machine is the heart of my system. I spend hours on end and discovers yet unexplored functions.
I would do this choice without a moment's hesitation.

    UTILIZATION

Simple setup for the Yamaha. J'tais plutt habitu have menus and submenus endless. The door is almost all keys. It yammer keys duplicated (octave + / - right and left of the keyboard shortcuts for the shift ...) which allows an ergonomic not much in not only record real time. The manual of 330 pages available on the Internet is comprehensive with many examples and a tutorial, all in French. It accepts HD disks (whew!) and some have even amuss change in zip drive. You can import any. Mid in one of the 20 song available. The big plus any of the same is the quality of the keys, computer keyboard type 90s, j'apprcie, gave a playful ct. Lacks only one thing for 10/10 is a friend that I noted is the editor of partitions. 110,000 The notes are comfortable. J'cris squence often double or triple in the eighth so until 8 notes not beat myself and I never found during memory. Just do not load the DMOS and the basic styles that take more than half of the place so full.

    SOUNDS

AWM and XG sounds are not trsralistes and they are old. Except possibly be who would have thought for Asian instruments are Russian (Koto, Shamisen, etc. ...). And then there are many more than 400 + drum kits. For those dj jou range of Clavinova pianos numriques, it's all the same. But adpanne well and even when there are few paramtres (cutoff - resonance) that can change. The overall quality of the device is trs good: little breath RESOLUTION dynamic sound, a sound. The effects are really INTERESTED because many convincing (except may be but the reverb is a problem LORD).

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for several months. It was a breath of fresh air for me. Trs intuitive, this machine is indmodable and no known equivalent on the market. There would probably the RS7000, it has more memory, such as SU700 sampler made but not Midi OUT 2 and the keys are of poorer quality not the sound thankfully.
In my humble opinion, one of the most beautiful Russianness Yamaha.

Each editable voices (filter, envelope, LFO, bend, velocity, portamento).
    - Section "EFFECT": 3 simultaneous effects: a reverb (editable), a chorus / flanger (editable), a variation (rev, chorus, wah, flange, delay, tremolo, rotary speaker, EQ, distortion ... editable). Two different cabling are available for multi purpose "variation": either insertion or in a loop on the console (with reference to dosage of reverb and chorus)

The QY 700 is equipped with MIDI IN and 2 x 2 x OUT. Each track sequencer can be assigned to the internal generator or each of the two MIDI outputs (or three). The two MIDI can be recorded simultaneously (depending MERGE). The sync can be done by MTC or MIDI

    Recording tracks: live or step
Editing tracks: piano roll or list events

The QY700 has a super-powerful tool: PlayFX function, accessible in SONG or PATTERN:
Via this page, you can improve each track by adding an effect of "GROOVE". It's actually a smart quantification, which plays on the timing + Velocity + length of the notes, according to a style (selected from 100!). For example, I record a black successively in STEP mode, then right on time. Then I add an effect groove "swing" that puts the notes for ... "Swing"!
Obviously, this effect is dosed (on the timing, velocity and length), and does not alter the original track

Play through the FX, it is also possible to determine the velocity (rate + offset), and move the placement of notes (front or back) and length (more or less), and always without affecting the original track. These settings are added (or not) to the effect of groove.

    UTILIZATION

This device is also very comprehensive complex. Programmers have envisioned a number of features and capabilities crossover between the different modules. The power of the device makes it difficult to assimilate: it takes time to explore the different features and capabilities, as well as to swallow the record, very well done, but also very plentiful (a book of 300 pages! )

Fortunately, the user interface offers many keys, large screens with buttons to access functions on the edge of the screen (6 down, 5 on the side). Mini keyboard (useful for entering into agreements or step recording). A numeric keypad, a scroll wheel "DIAL", a pitch bend, an assignable dial, pressing the "tape". Key locators, mute, solo, etc ...

To facilitate editing, it is possible to set the same way by many. Example, to select a sound, I can: use the wheel "DIAL", or the numeric keypad or the keys +/-.. or the master keyboard.

Note, a key JOB, allowing us to be or to have access to a super tool box (25 functions) to act on the slopes a few examples: quantification, transpose, cut / copy MIDI events, cut / copy actions, time stretch, crescendo automatic separation of events to MIDI SYSEX, etc. ..
These tools let you fiddle with any Midifile

    SOUNDS

The sound is not the strong point of the device. These are the same as the expanders Series MU. This is obviously reading multi-samples with a filter, an envelope, an LFO to work the stamp.
It is not possible to create "performance" multi layers like a synth.
    Banks vary in quality.

I like the drums, bass, guitars (acoustic and electric), brass, some synth (leads)
I do not like pianos (even electric), organs (must say, I have a Hammond home!), Strings (solo or groundwater, natural or synthetic), the synth "pads"
A detail ... Yamaha had the good idea to include electric pianos called "DX". Unfortunately, he did the "DX" as the name! (A full, anyway!)

The effects are good, and significantly improve the sound (three simultaneous effects, it enhances any pan)

    OVERALL OPINION

I bought this unit there are about ten years.
I use it occasionally, and that's the problem: the lack of practice that I forget the possibilities!
It allows me to quickly prepare sequences to accompany me when I play the organ.
Considering the use I make of this module is far too powerful! However, I am always satisfied with the result and that is why I continue to use
I always do what I want, a machine is better than too little too powerful!
I tried arrangers / sequencer software, the QY700 is in my opinion higher (to render and function of both musical and technical)
If this unit had a sampler, it would be the musical toolbox "perfect" in my opinion
The low sound is not a problem, MIDI is for that.
