MuseBox is a breakthrough product that uses technology developed by Muse Research that makes it incredibly easy to use virtual instruments and effects.  The super rugged yet highly portable half-rack design fits easily in a backpack and goes with you wherever you need to make music. The result of a development partnership with Peavey Electronics, MuseBox is an incredibly versatile product that meets the needs of a surprisingly large variety of musicians such as keyboardist, guitarists, singers, drummers, mix engineers, and more.

Sporting convenient front panel inputs for plugging in a mic, guitar, or bass, the MuseBox comes complete with hundred of presets that sound great and load quickly.  The full-size MIDI input on the back lets you take advantage of the massive number of synths and sampled sounds on board, including an 800MB acoustic piano and 200MB electric piano that puts the wimpy sounds in a keyboard workstation to shame. Give it a listen and we're sure you'll agree.

MuseBox introduces the new SoundFinder™ interface from Muse Research.  SoundFinder employs the notion of TAGs that let you organize your sounds by type, or usage, or even by the particular gig or performance situation you are in.  Finding a sound or effect is really easy: just select a TAG, browse and select a preset, and press the knob to load.  You can save your custom presets in a USER TAG, and when on stage you can move through your presets using the dedicated footswitch input on the back.  Never has the power of software virtual instruments and effects been so easy to use!

MuseBox is a remarkable synth, sampler, guitar processor, effects processor, and vocal processor that features pro-grade inputs and outputs to support any musical situation.  Also present is the legendary low-latency audio performance technology which makes RECEPTOR the choice of so many touring bands and shows around the world.

With massive sampled synth library from Universons, a cutting-edge modeled piano from ForeFront, killer electric pianos and synths from AAS and synths from U-he,  you'll find the just-right sound you've been looking for when playing keyboards.

And if you are playing guitar, singing, or mixing sound live, you'll love the phenomenal effects found in Peavey's ReValver, WaveArts MasterVerb and TrackPlug, Camel Audio's Space and Phatt effects, and state-of-the-art vocal processing found in MuTechnologies MuVoice Lite.

All these virtual instruments and effects are included with the unit and are ready to use - nearly a $900 retail value!

And the CF card slot on the back makes sure that your MuseBox is always up to date, letting you add new sounds as the market develops.

MuseBox is manufactured and distributed by Peavey Electronics, and can found in Peavey dealers worldwide.

sw80's review"Hook up a monitor"

Muse Research MuseBOX
The Muse Research MuseBox is a virtual instrument and effects module that I have recently had the chance to work with. It is built for the stage and for the studio, no matter where you need these sounds at they will be available to you. The Muse Research MuseBox could not be any easier to set up and start using. All you have to do is plug it in and pick which sound you want and that is it. It does come with a manual but I am pretty sure no one needs it.
There are a lot of presets on the Muse Research MuseBox, and picking the preset you want is very easy because you can search it by category. If you don’t like working on a small screen, all you have to do is hook it up to a monitor and then you can use a mouse to pick your presets on a bigger screen which will be a lot easier to read especially in a studio.
My favorite thing about the Muse Research MuseBox is the price that it cost. It is very affordable and for the quality of sounds that you are getting makes it a steal! I am very happy that I now have the chance to work with this module and plan on making more and more music with it every day. I have tried and/or used several desktop synth modules and a lot of them have good and bad things about them. But the Muse Research MuseBox has no negative things about it to me. It is very easy to use, it is built well and you can plug it up to a bigger monitor so you can see what you are doing better. The precision of quality and sound are amazing. I think anyone who has this MuseBox would buy it again anytime.

AlanForPresident's review"musbox is awsome"

Muse Research MuseBOX
This is a virtual instrument and effects module that most people tend to shy away from because its still hardware, people are going really crazy over software plug ins these days and forget how good hardware modules still are. There is a lot of potential with this MuseBox and I think it still has some room for it to get better. One thing that I wish it was is rack able, I have plenty more than enough gear just sitting around on the workspace. I need this unit to be rack able

But the sounds that are on this thing are amazing, it is way better than almost any vst that I have seen or used now or in the past. There is really so much you can do with this module, I am so surprise that its not more popular amongst the home musician community considering how small and compact that it is. Its really like the size of a small audio interface like the mbox.

The effects are way better than expected, using this has allowed me to be a lot more creative in processing some of my sounds, using this along with some of my software effects and mixer tracks I am able to come up with all types of new sounds that have never been heard before. My hat is off to Muse for the MuseBox. Hopefully when they come out with another one they make it rack able or even make this version rack able and just come out with it because there are still some of us who use a lot of hardware great and need a space to put it in. Great sounds, and effects from Muse, I will be recommending more at home musicians to use the MuseBox and open up the creative within them. Try it
