Plus: fully adapted for Ableton Live and Traktor trigger Hotcue in reduced size and for mobile use
Minimum: Not yet found, perhaps a wider range of colors to suit the pad color clips Live8

How do you rate the quality / price?
Given the opportunity to bargain (70 euros) ratio is perfect!

Without hesitation, unless the APC20 APC40 or cheaper, but then I doubt it!

The two machines are different although they can do similar things

I do not regret my purchase, and even though I would take another considering the price!!

What I love about it, it's the design, I really love what Novation did with its interface and how they managed to put something quite original for Ableton users.
The price overall is quite great for the product, those 64 pads can make a huge difference in your mixing, they can really boost your creativity on a whole new level.
This pad controller works pretty great in launching clips and samples on time, it has the possibility to connect up to 6 Launchpads at a time (which is completely great and unique).
The reason why this pad is so great it's because how well it fits with Ableton Live program, it doesn't require a source supply, only a usb connection.
Also you can work in Session View either Arrangement View, which is quite handy, the
multi-color 64-button grid provide instant session overview.
This pad can be used to create grooves, racks, creating beats and triggering samples in real time, you can even make it work as a midi controller,creating custom MIDI maps with 72 of its buttons transmitting either CC or MIDI note data, so you can basically play with this pad and create melodies.

Connectivity type: USB, it doesn't require a power supply.
It's compatible with Windows XP or Vista, Mac OS X .

Another great thing you can do with Novation LaunchPad is to control the volume, paning, amount of sends, muting, and many other cool features.

Without a doubt, this pad makes the musical process seem much more fun and creative, with its use you can create some great trance groove and even melodies.
I really like the feeling of the buttons and the way they respond to the command.
I would buy and rebuy this product, I really think it makes a huge difference for Ableton users like me.

The Novation Launchpad combines elements of a mixer, a sequencer, and an effects rack all in one 64 button pad designed to interface with Ableton Live. As I mainly use Ableton I'm not sure whether you can program it to work with other DAW's, but the interface with Live is one that is very flexible and easy to learn. If you are one for triggering clips, the Novation Launchpad is certainly for you. After the samples, midi files, etc. are triggered - indicated by the corresponding button lighting up green - there are infinite ways of manipulating the signal thanks to the User 1 and User 2 interfaces, which are completely customizable. I'm fond of setting one user interface to automap effects in real time while leaving the other as my "solo" instrument, wherein the buttons act as a keyboard. On top of this the Novation Launchpad is the lightest, most compact, and surprisingly the most durable piece of equipment I have had the pleasure of using. My issues with the launchpad are simple: the keyboard scale is easy to figure out but is difficult to master coming from a standard piano background, the quantization settings for audio vs. midi clips are a bit confusing, and the buttons aren't the best replacement for faders. For the price however, this isn't a bad buy. In fact it's a very good buy compared to Ableton's other hardware interface, the APC-40. Just be ready to practice, practice, practice if you see yourself doing an entire set on this device, and maybe have a separate mixer on hand to get a more precise fade.

The Novation Launchpad is a controller built especially for Ableton Live, meant to improve workflow and turn Live into a performance tool. It does exactly that. And it's AWESOME. It is pretty easy to set up, you plug it in and it automaps to Live. The device consists of an 8x8 grid of 64 "clip launch buttons" and 8 dedicated "scene launch buttons". It takes its power from the computer, eliminating the need for an external source which ROCKS! The launchpad features four modes: Session Mode, which controls clips and scene launch and is awesome for workflow and live performances, User Mode 1, which is useful for controlling VST's and Drum Racks, User Mode 2, which you can assign to do all kinds of things and Mixer mode, which provides an overview and control of volume, pans, send effects and a few other things. It is kinda hard to do anything but drums, but it's certainly possible to play it like a keyboard. Also, you can set it up to do all kinds of dances and patterns and just cool little things, and is certainly very impressive in performance. This is such a cool piece of equipment, and works awesome with out faders and knobs. If you need something like this with Faders and Knobs, get the APC 40 or 20, but this can do everything they do, and then some, plus it has tons of pretty colors. I love the way that this brings the innovative workspace of Ableton Live, and makes it into a concrete, playable interface. While this isn't necessarily a new approach to controllerism, it's a more refined version of an old standby, and is incredibly effective . It has so much potential and you can even hook 6 of these up to Live at a time! This is worth very cent so pick one up.

Excelling! It is much smaller than the models of Akai (APC20 & APC40 reference).

I saw a youtube video of the product and I saw that the controller twelve o'clock had great potential so I have procured one and I really have not been disappointed! At first my choice was the Akai APC 40 but it was too big and cumbersome to use I wanted to do!

With Traktor Pro 2.0 Try Absolutely! : P
I use my launchpad with Traktor Pro 2 for Djing and has excelled as different color can be assigned to the pads and / or use of pads as indicator lights for us given pointers status of a deck. For example if loop mode or is assigned to an Hotcue Hotcue 3 (example), also very convenient to set the BPM of a deck (with a flashing LED).

It is very convenient when using samples, can be assigned one play for each sample given the huge number pads.

by calculating functions quickly with "Change" (up to eight I think) and a little patience [lol] can be assigned up to 640 function actions. Yes good I hear in advance who will tell me "What is it for to have so many?" With nothing but to show the potential of the machine!

Another useful aspect is being able to select between "Toggle" or "momentary" for each pad, very useful when the assignment as Hotcues.

very useful if you have a system with DVS Time Coded Vinyl or CD.

You will not want to go after you customize your own setting noon!

With Virtual DJ:
Warning: we must have downloaded the software firewall before called Automap available at Novation. And recreating the shortcuts "shortcuts" of VDJ deck can be controlled and any functions that have been assigned to the computer keyboards.

With Torq 2.0
I discovered by accident that it was compatible with Torq and it was a great discovery because it helped get rid of the mouse! Already the program Djing is not compatible with all DJ Controllers market.

Yes definitely! I expected to have some cash to buy me another one because more would not be too many! ** Can be used in up to 6 at a time!

I used the LaunchPad for several months, even though I got it in March 2010. Indeed, when I got it, I had trouble using it because the Launchpad comes with poor instruction specs of only 4 pages.  I gave up trying to understand how to use it at the time.  Although, I knew the potential of the Launchpad, so I tried looking online for tutorials, which have helped a lot. Now I am enjoying the Launchpad very much, and know how to use it.

The Launchpad is very classy, the different LED colors are fun and very useful. It is solid and does not take up much space.
It is also very efficient, the DIFFERENT modes are complete. It allows you to maximize the mode session of Ableton Live. The User mode allows you to play a "drum kit" and the 64 buttons are enjoyable to play without pads; other suface Controllers may be more efficient (but more expensive).
Because they have designed it to be programmable, it allows you to be more creative.
Please note, buttons are not velocity-sensitive, and (....translation from French here uncertain).

In addition to the use of songs to play Live, Launchpad Mode Mixer is a very good control surface for editing or mixing in your DAW, like muting or soloing tracks very quickly, without the use of the mouse).
Attention, Launchpad can also CONTRL effects, but with eight pads to make "crossfades", it is not very precise. If you want CONTRoller effects, I recommend The series Novation Nocturn  (keyboard 25, 49 or more or single Controller with knobs), which compliments very well the LaunchPad.

One of the main advantages of the report is Launchpad quali tprix: It was worth and even more than its price. I highly recommend those who do not want to invest in expensive high-end gear.

(another thing to note, is that the LaunchPad does not come with its cover, and this is inconvenient. You can find this cover 10 euros on "sound-universe")

A Weekend! I drooled for months before the videos of this interface. I flashed serious about the software Ableton Live ... As it is my way of composing, playing music. But the launch of clips with the mouse ... greatly limits the software. Launchpad handily fills the limit.

What is so special that you like most and least?
Simple, beautiful and efficient. Mode "session" Launchpad is really a launch base of the famous clips audio / midi. It is so "versatile" that influences the way we compose his clips, samples ... With 64 clips available directly (and 7 others in "surfing" from page to page) we have a unique approach to music. Much like a conductor ... GE-NIAL

As against the mode "mixer" to adjust volume, pan, send and Send A B. .. is a little "gadget". This is useful when one has it ... but since it works with "not" it is sorely lacking precision ... Personally it bothers me somewhat, because I have an Akai MPD 24 with nice faders, knobs that can be assigned ... For those who hesitate between Launchpad and Akai APC-40, please take the Akai fuller, more serious ...

Mode "User 1": a grid of 64 notes is also very interesting, although there is no tenderness, it can encode rhythms easily.

Excellent! € 135! It's not very expensive and it boosts the functionality of Live, my favorite software. But we must consider what Launchpad for what it is made. Live drive. This is not a "table mix" or a keyboard, but a launch base in pre-recorded clips or recorded on the fly ...

Immediately. Even if I use Live primarily to compose pop-rock songs, I playing more and more of "music that turn" based exclusively on samples (currently included with my version of Live Intro). In this case the Launchpad is almost "required" ... I would say that a guy who would it be expected to buy more ...

In short: I love it!

And to conclude the binomial Ableton Live - Launchpad gives you a creative tool of a new order. By controlling the creation and Live clips + handling of the Launchpad you will have access to a whole new type of musical instrument ...
